Private Practice Program

So yes, since the Private Practice people have taken over a good deal of my twitter feed lately, I feel I have become a little more obsessed. And now it is referred to as PPP, because Tim Daly started it and it seems to have stuck with the cast, and with me, Ness and many other fans. -But it also makes it easier to differenciate between Private Practice and Promises, Promises.
The cast is way too entertaining on the twitter...if only they could get Brian and Paul on they'd have a complete tweeting cast!

I am loving how much I still love this show exactly the same in its 4th season. It seems to have stayed really strong, especially compared to Grey's at the same stage. It is also generally a lighter brighter show than Grey's, Violet's previous storylines, and Charlotte's current storyline aside. I also can't believe how much they seem to have fit into 3 seasons! It feels like tons happened since season 1.
-I feel bad that I didn't like Charlotte right away back in the day, but by the end of season 1 she was well on her way to being one of my fave characters.

So moving onto commenting on this season. The whole Violet/Pete getting married was weird, but good. I like them as a couple...and Lucas is too adorable! His halloween costume was very cute!
Still not really caring about the Addi/Sam...but I don't complelely hate it. lol.
Amelia turned out to be totally awesome! She's too much fun, which since they sent Charlotte all dark and twisty, has become rather necessary.
I must say I am very proud of PPP with their Charlotte rape story, but my god its been depressing! KaDee Strickland has been knocking my socks off though! Quality eps lately! But no more attackings please Shonda.
-On a side note, I've been looking up bits of season 3 lately, and found a quote in ep4 of last season...where Violet is talking to Cooper about a patient who was raped and got pregnant, and then asks him "if Charlotte was raped and got pregnant and wanted to keep the baby, that'd be a deal breaker, right?" To which he replies "Do not hypothetically rape my girlfriend". I couldn't believe I was hearing this conversation...it was scary!

Anyways...so where was I? Right...loving this season. The last few eps have been rather depressing, but have had some really good bits too. What I find funny is how excited I was to have Naomi back after Audra's time off....I guess I just missed the whole gang together, especially since they're on the twitter so damm much! The whole Naomi hugging Charlotte thing was weird and adorable.
I find myself talking out loud while watching tv a lot lately...I think its left over from watching everything together while in the US. But I was commenting on poor lonely depressed Charlotte...which got 'Lonely Tourist Charlotte Charles' in my head...a sign I've been watching too much Pushing Daisies...but I digress....
Charlotte's whole cliche and zen-ness is so sad! Charlotte is NOT zen!

I had a few notes on the last few eps, starting with...was Charlotte's cast supposed to be so huge?! Between the straight hair, the no makeup, the baggier clothes, and the huge cast on her arm...she looked 12!
Oh and what happened to her ring?! It might just be a costume slip...but where did it go? She had it after she was attacked, and then in the last ep, she wasn't wearing it. -My mind wonders...and wanders...

I had a lot of questions about the gang too...like did Amelia get her own place?, did Cooper have more than a bedroom to his apartment?, did they even own cars (being LA I know they HAD to own cars...but you never see them drive, so I wondered...) -lets just say I have a very active, and inquistive mind.

Hopefully my crazy hyperactive obsessiveness will decrease over the break....I might even be healthy!
I'm happy I finally bought season 1 on dvd in the US, and am happy to have season 2 coming soon. Hopefully season 3 will get cheap on amazon before I start season 2, cause I'll NEED it!

The TV Catch Up - Part 1

Wow...I never had a part 2 for The Emmys...oh well.

So I've been slack with my tv blogging of late. But 6 weeks travelling in the US will do that.

So firstly, I better comment on the TV in the US. -Its awesome!
It was so awesome to watch Grey's, Private Practice, Glee, and others in real time. No download delay, no waiting for time...no spoilers. Watching SNL ACTUALLY LIVE might have been the best part of all though. I mean...how much better can you get than knowing that its happening right that minute/second etc?!
AWESOME!

Oh, they also have awesome ads in the US....my fave might be the one with Allison Janney....but I'm totally biased :P

So I have a lot to talk about with Private Practice, so I might save that one for a whole post of its own...But I can comment on the new shows I watched in the US, as well as my thoughts on the current seasons of my other shows.
-Firstly, I enjoyed Raising Hope. I'd like to download the rest of that if I have the time and the space.
-Better With You is ok, but not that great...
-Running Wilde is terrible....as much as I wanted to like it. It definately deserves to be canned.
-

-This season of Grey's got off to a pretty depressing start...everyone has been dealing with the aftermath of the shootings in the season finale....and 9 eps in, its still kinda going, but at least its getting somewhere. -I also must admit that I don't hate April anymore...thankfully they have made her likeable this season. I dunno what's going on with Christina...she's being funny since she's not being a doctor anymore, but they better get her back in surgery soon! And the whole Arizona/Callie thing is gonna drive me crazy!...hopefully like Charlotte and Cooper, they will get their acts together eventually!

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about season 2 of Glee. It doesn't have the same focus or magic that the first 13 eps had. But it is definately more focused than the last 9 of S1. I'm so glad they are letting Brittany sing, and that they are sharing it around more now. However, I wish Emma and Quinn wouldn't keep disappearing! And I really don't care about that Sam guy at all!
-I can't believe I'm saying it, but I actually really really loved the Gwyneth Paltrow ep! It was just a lot of fun, while still heading towards sectionals!

I was really worried about this season of Brothers and Sisters, after losing Rob Lowe, and then a few eps in, losing Rebecca...but they have really come back strong...especially after last years disasterous mess of a plot!

This season of Parenthood has been interesting. That was the first show to come back in the US, so we enjoyed 4 weeks of watching that! I have issues with Sarah working with Adam...and I really don't like Billy Baldwin....but other than that the storylines have been ok. Joel is getting a lot more screen time....however Julia seems to be vanishing...

We only got to watch 2 weeks of Community, so I don't know how this season is going...

Modern Family is just as good as ever if you ask me. Loving the new eps!

I'm sure I've left some things out....but I'll try to do another post tomorrow, or Thursday.

The Emmys - Part 1

Ok so the Emmys were monday....I had to work so I couldn't watch them till later, and due to a technical mishap, I had to download the awards part. So I watched the abridged version on channel 10.....and am catching up on the bits I missed.

I'll comment on the red carpet and best/worst dressed later, but for now I've got comments on the awards part.

There were SO many people I liked up for the same awards it was hard not to be pretty happy with the result.
-I was happy for Jane Lynch. She ROCKS. But I would have loved for Kristen Wiig to get an emmy....but I have a feeling they are never gonna give out awards for SNL unless for hosting.
-Yay for Edie Falco! I mean....I would have loved Lea Michele or the others to win....but I love Nurse Jackie too.
-I really wanted Elisabeth Moss to win best supporting actress drama....But if someone else had to win, I'm glad I was Archie Panjabi from The Good Wife. -And how IS Rose Burne only a supporting actress for Damages?
-really thought Julianna Margulies would win for The Good Wife....I wasn't so fussed about the rest.
-yay for Mad Men and Modern Family winning! I had this feeling all day that Mad Men would win....I love Glee, but it kinda lost something in those last 9 eps...I hope it finds it again in season 2. (Not that those eps were not awesome).

Lauren Graham and Matthew Perry presenting award together was both SO cute....and also terrible. Bad jokes, bad jokes. But it was nice to see them together again, since they are friendly....

Loved the Modern Family with George Clooney thing! I just love him!

Julianna Margulies and Jimmy Fallon did a really bad fake-slap 1st go....2nd go was spot on.

Overall I thought Jimmy Fallon was a great host. Lots of musical stuff too!
I think its gonna be hard to get "The island it was mystical, but in the end they died....I didn't understand it, but I tried!" out of my head anytime soon!

Oh and it now feels sad to me, that after all the nominations the cast of The West Wing got over the years....that none of them are even anywhere near the emmys anymore....Matt Perry and Connie Britton representing....

Oh and one thing that really annoyed me...was the "coming up in...." warnings across the screen.....we don't need warnings all the time!

More to come.

Its EMMY WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the emmys are on next monday, and the creative arts emmys were last weekend....Kristin didn't win for guesting on Glee, but I can't be THAT mad cause she was beaten by Betty White on SNL....
Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris DID win for Glee which was cool!
There were a few other awards that I was happy for, like music for example.

I'm in the middle of reading EW's top 50 emmy snubs and wanted to share my thoughts.....

-I'm totally with them on Ellen Pompeo. She has totally acted her butt off over the last 6 years of Grey's and barely gets a peep of attention!
-ALIAS!!!!!!! Man I'm missing that show right now! They really should have got more awards, especially in the early years!
-Brother & Sisters? Not sure that was ever really up to the best drama catergory - as much as I love it and all....maybe in the early days. -although last season's finale was a gutwrencher!

Okay not really much more to comment on.....

There are still lots of good people nominated for stuff in this years emmys, so I'm excited to see who wins!
-Hopefully I can find time to watch it without spoilers!

Election Time and Election Episodes

Oh The West Wing how I have missed you!!!!!

Okay so I've been saying for a few weeks now that I wanted to watch the election eps of TWW, since we're having an election this weekend. I finally got time last night to watch Election Night, and am in the middle of Process Stories right now. - I probably won't have time for Election Day part 1 and 2, but I can watch them after saturday.

You know the weirdest thing? Even though I've been watching more recent Bradley Whitford (and others) in stuff....they all looked weird in season 3....but not in a 'young' way, but I guess more of a 'wow it has really been too long' way.... I honestly don't remember when I last watch any West Wing.

Anyways.....moving on.
I'm enjoying Mad Men...and Community, but since Alison Brie is in both shows, I cannot watch them on the same night. It weirds me out too much. So glad there is plenty of good Peggy stuff this season! (Hey no Zoey in these eps of TWW....)

What was that about moving on?.....oh yes.

Hot in Cleveland is finishing up soon....and its getting better.....or at least showing off the talent a little better. However I still find Valerie Bertinelli really really annoying. But the others are funny.

I've only got 2 eps left of Las Vegas season 4....and omg no wonder I had forgotten about the end of season 4. I knew Mary left....but I had completely no recollection of how or what happens to Mary.
I'll talk about Las Vegas more when I've watched the last 2 eps of s4....and then its onto the crappy season 5.....maybe it won't seem so bad this time around! lol

wow....how did I forget Joanna Gleeson's characters name in The West Wing?......okay the ep is over now....I'll move on, and finish up.

Catch Me Up!

So.......it sucks that these days I have very little time for TV....I miss it!

So Mad Men is back...I've watched 3 eps and am enjoying it. Its the kind of show I love to watch, but wouldn't obsess over it and watch the eps multiple times.
-Oh and after all the things I've been watching lately, I'm so glad Christina Hendricks grew up and got not-annoying. -Like Amy Adams! They both just used to play annoying characters on tv in the early 2000's.

I finished season 1 of Damages....and boy that show surprised me! I had no idea just how epic it was in terms of storyline planning. I can't wait to see where they go in season 2....they've got some interesting things to explain.

And now that I've finished Damages, I'm finally catching up on the rest of United States of Tara. Its not that I didn't want to watch it - but it was taking forever to download. And its not the kind of show I like to watch tons in a row....it messes with my head too much.

I'm almost done with season 4 of Las Vegas now, hopefully I'll have finished season 5 by the time I leave for the US in Sept....Not that it really matters where I leave it since it never got an actual finale cause of the writers strike not working out well for a lot of shows. (not that I don't support the writers).
The problem will be not hating season 5....Its just not the same without Ed.....and I guess Mary, but Mary wasn't the same since season 3....she lost all her good character traits....and got super annoying and weird. (Nikki Cox's uber-skinniness season 3 didn't help...)

There's a few new shows starting up soon, and some oldies coming back, so I'll have to try and make room for them in my limited tv schedule....

Elizabeth Mitchell and Shows I don't want to want to watch!

Ok....so you've all heard me go on about how I hated Juliet in LOST....yada yada yada....and how then I LOVED her....what can I say I'm not THAT set in my ways!

So she's become one of my 'people' that I have to watch interviews with, and will consider rewatching in old stuff, and new stuff.....that isn't LOST. -however her in ER still weirds me out....
Anyways stay with me here.....but she's kinda like a weird mix of Kellie Martin, Emily Procter and Jessica Capshaw.....or maybe they all just kinda look/sound similar. - She's very bubbly and nutty and hyper and talks REALLY fast which I can appreciate in a person! (Lauren, Emily P, etc)

Oh so now onto the shows I really don't want to watch....but have great people that I love in them.....it sucks...for example...I really don't want to ever watch V....especially now I know Charles Mesure is in it....
I also didn't want to watch CSI Miami or NY....
I mean there has to be a point where I stop watching things for 'my people'. Movies are okay, you watch it for an hour or 2, and then its done. But a tv show is much more of a commitment!

So from now on I'm making a pledge.....to only watch shows with multiple 'my people' in them, unless it genuinely interests me for other reasons than 1 member of the cast!

.....good luck to me :)

LAS VEGAS....

....just for something different.

This weekend has been good for watching TV. I watched the last Crossing Jordan/Las Vegas crossover eps, which were the worst of the lot. Nowhere NEAR as good as the previous 2!

Then today I got to watch the Delina in a Box episodes (oddly titled Delinda's box), which were awesome. Very dramatic for season 3/4 of Las Vegas! - I also watched a few more since the arvo was all wet and dreary. The Christmas ep was so good! Some good drama in there and some decent other stuff too. And even I got sad when they blew up Danny's car! That's a cool car....even if I never really liked the colors.

In other news, I think I'm finally on board with Community. Although some eps rock and some really really suck....But for the most part its enjoyable.

Tomorrow its back to a busy work week and there will be little time for tv. I've only got 3 eps of Damages left, so I might be able to finish that this week!

Not Enought Time!!!

So I raced through season 2 of Las Vegas, and through season 3....but then the day after I finished that I started working full time....so I finally got to start season 4 yesterday, a whole week after the finale of season 3!

Now that I'm up to season 4 I have to watch it on the old original downloaded eps, so the quality is annoying, but better than nothing.

I LOVE season 2....Silver Star is one of my fave eps, and the one where the girls go out to the desert....and the one with Michael Buble in a bubble....
Season 3 was still good, but I was never a fan of the new building....and the stories started going down hill...
I don't remember hardly anything of season 4...so its TONS of fun to watch. I've only watched 2 so far, but should get time for more this week. -However I do recall the quality going downhill....and it was all Danny and Delinda, and as cute as they are....it was always supposed to be Danny and Mary.....
-which brings me to Mary's little tantrum from the premire eps.....she was acting like Danny was cheating on her behind her back and everyone knew....I always liked Mary, but that was crazy in a bad way! By the end of season 4, she had dated someone else, as had Danny...I dunno...I guess I can see her issue with Danny and Delinda never telling her, but other than that - she had no dibs on Danny anymore! (which I think was an actual line....)

anyways...moving on. I'm still in loved with Delinda's wedding dress from season 3! SOOOO pretty!

Oh and in other tv news....I've started watching Damages and am really loving it. Its addictive. I've got a few eps left of season 1 to go. I'm loving Covert Affairs - Piper Perabo and Kari Matchetts new spy drama....not up to Alias standards, but still really fun! Hot In Cleveland is still entertaining. United States of Tara has its ups and downs. And I'm still not sure about Community...I watch it when I don't feel like something else, or something I can do other things while I watch. The Good Guys is stupid and silly, but when watched with Vanessa can be appreciated!

I've also been watching a lot of old SNL, from the last few seasons....I'm enjoying having Amy Poehler there. The ep with Amy Adams was fantastic! And not just cause her and Kristen Wiig sang 'What is this feeling' from Wicked!!!

Viva Las Vegas!

So OMG, I had truely forgotten just how much I LOVE Las Vegas the series! I finished season 1 today, and went straight into season 2. I'd forgotten how much I love the finale/premire. That whole Danny/Mary storyline was so sad and sweet. -As much as I loved Danny and Delinda, I was always a Danny/Mary girl.

I'd also forgotten just how awesome the cast commentaries from season 1 were! So sad they didn't do anymore later on. They were QUALITY! - I'd forgotten that the bloopers are joint with season 2...so I'll have to wait till I finish s2 before I can enjoy the fantabulous Las Vegas bloopers!

I must still say that one of my fave season 1 episodes was The Nights The Lights Went Out In Vegas! - I gotta say I love me a crazy crazy Sam. -Plus if you look at other shows, bottle eps are always some of the best. -An ep with only existing sets, where very few people appart from the cast speak. -Angel did a great one....and I'm sure there are others that I can't think of right now.

Another thing I am getting a lot of fun out of the rewatching, is all the people that pop up. People I know now cause of more main roles, or people that were famous that I had forgotten were in it. -Like today I watched an ep with Jay Harrington from Better Off Ted - and he was a BABY! As was Eric Dane! He looks much better in Grey's Anatomy if you ask me :P
Others that have popped up include, Jane Lynch, and Paul Ben-Victor. People I knew by face, but not by name untill recently.

Anyways...I just hope once I get to the Crossing Jordan crossover episodes, that I won't be too tempted to watch CJ. - Man just put out the rest of the seasons on dvd already!!!!!!

Nurse Jackie Finale, and The Dry Season

Well....its official I have nothing left to download/watch.  TV is now a barren wasteland.

The Nurse Jackie finale was ok...not fantastic. But It was interesting to have O'Hara find out about Jackie's drug habbit, and the intervention with Kevin.
It will be interesting to see where this show goes next season. I hope O'Hara and Jackie get friendly again, and that Zoey doesn't go missing - I find her entertaining.

So now that that's ended, there is very little to watch. This time last year, there were multiple seasons of shows to catch up on, and new shows to watch. Now there is practically nothing!

I am giving Hot in Cleveland a try. Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves, and Valerie Bertinelli with Betty White. I like the first 2 best. Its okay, not fanastic. But I'll watch the 2nd ep, and see how things are going.\

I've also watched the pilot for United States of Tara. I'm not sure if I like it yet. I'll give it another ep and take it from there.

I'm using all my willpower to not watch Glee from the beginning yet. - I'll watch it soonish, but its too soon still. I am considering rewatching something old from my collection. I'll look through the collection, there must be something I can watch.

Lets Do The Time-Warp Again!

So since I've been doing a lot of trip research lately, specifically looking at Las Vegas hotesl, and everything they have to offer....I was then looking up where they shot some stuff for the Las Vegas tv series....and then all I wanted to was watch the pilot episode....and since I've been meaning to watch my fave eps for a while....I have decided to watch it from the start again.

It would be years since I last watched any Las Vegas I think! I don't think I've watched any since the unintended finale of the series. -Still SUPER mad at NBC for the way it treated Las Vegas! The writer's strike really messed up a lot of tv....not that I don't fully support their arguments and demands...I just wish it hadn't affected so many of shows.

I'm having so much fun going back and watching the early stuff. When it had a purpose and direction. When Mary was still in it, and Nessa. I'd forgotten how much fun that show was! -And I'm only 6 episodes in! It's gonna get so much better, then worse, then worse, and then not so great.....but there was always something good about it. It was never completely bad.
At least you could always rely on Samantha-Jane to be entertaining and more importantly consistant.

I wonder what Gary Scott Thompson is doing these days...I should look him up!

Slippery Slope that is my TV Obsession!

So....I started my evening with a simple episode of Saturday Night Live from last season. Paul Rudd was hosting, all was nice and simple. Then Beyonce is the musical guest. She does 'Single Ladies' and I spent the whole time looking at the blonde dancer, trying to figure out if it was Heather Morris from Glee (Brittany to those who don't know better).

After confirming that it WAS indeed Heather, I found my way to youtube. I was already there looking up Katie Finneran from Wonderfalls and Promises, Promises. So I was looking to see what other Heather stuff was online - interviews and stuff. This lead me to more clips of the Glee Live shows, and once I had spent over an hour watching those videos. I realised I hadn't done a search on Lea Michele in a while, so typed her in....and found a clip of her on Third Watch, with Bobby Cannavale and Kim Raver - I feel like my obsessions are running SO deep, that they all interconnect at some point now.
-Funny note about the Third Watch Clip, Kim Raver spends half the time being way too doctory - and therefore very Grey's Anatomy, -I know she's a paramedic and all...but they don't spend that much time in the hospital!
-Also Lea was only 14 in the clip, but she had those dramatic acting chops down pat! -She's gonna go a LONG way.

So the moral of this story is......stay off youtube! Because once I get started with one thing or person, it inevitably leads to something else, and another, and another. -I mean now I'm watching other old Lea projects. - Lets not even get started on the fact that I'm watching it going....hey this is pre-wrist tattoo..... DID I MENTION I'M OBSESSED?!

It's times like this I think there should be some kind of 12 step program for me....Hi I'm Carlie, and I'm a TV and YouTube-Oholic!

Janel Moloney - She's ALIVE!

So after going into baby having hibernation, suddenly pics of Janel Moloney have popped up again, twice in the last month.
-Recently spotted with The Husband, and Samantha Mathis at the New York screening of 'Cyrus'. http://www.wireimage.com/ItemListings.aspx?cbi=1818&igi=437098&nbc1=1
http://www.patrickmcmullan.com/site/event_detail.aspx?eid=33406&filter=1

The other pic popped up last week, of her pushing baby Julian in a pram in New York.

Just thought I'd share this info with the people out there....I know they exist, because that is where I get a good portion of my info...but this time I've beat you all to it! -Just like I did with the whole baby info....

Oh and remember how I posted a pic of Janel, saying she looked like Kim Raver in it? Well it turns out I'm not the only crazy one...
@LaurainWA posted on twitter "Wondered if it was just my #twwobsessed mind causing me 2 think Kim Raver on 24 looks lk Janel Moloney." - and then provided a link to an article http://westwingnews.blogspot.com/2005/10/not-janel-moloney.html that states that back in the day at the Emmy Awards, a reporter for The Australian, accidently interviewed Kim as Janel....and never corrected it...so they ran an article that included discussions of the kinds of underwear worn under Kim's (as Janel) dress....
So anyways....I'm embarrased on behalf of my country for this blunder! And hope that neither talented actresses hold a grudge against us.......is most likelihood...they never heard about it. (I hope)

-Also...I hope they never called Kim, Janel to her face....AND its the freaking EMMYS do your homework reporters! I knew there was a reason I hated the aussie's on the red carpet back in the day!

Glee - The Finale!

Well.....pretty much all I can say is "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"!

That was a really sweet episode, adorable in fact. -I never thought Glee would make me cry, but it did!

I must say though, 'Journey' was nothing like I expected. I knew it would involve Regionals, and that Quinn would have her baby. ....But I sort of expected a lot more of it to revolve around the Regionals performance than it did.

While I loved the Journey mash-up, it wasn't quite the same as the sectionals performance....it just didn't hit that same spot. -And a whole ep (2 eps...actually, I don't remember the last time we had one) without a Rachel solo! I must say that dissapointed me a little. As glad as I am that they are spreading around the songs, and letting more of them sing -Still waiting for Brittany's turn though, I kinda hoped we'd go out with a big Lea Michele belt! But who am I kidding, I still really loved the ep.
----Just looked it up, there was no technical solo for Rachel in these whole 9 eps...Gives You Hell was the only one, not that Poker Face and I Dreamed a Dream weren't AWESOME, I just like me some proper Rachel solos from time to time! ------

Finally Emma appeared! I know Jayma Mays has been busy filming The Smurfs movie, but still....I've missed me some Emma! And I'm so glad that they all fought to keep Glee club. Even Sue, who it turns out has a soul after all! -Gotta say though, not loving the Glee version of Olivia Newton-John....she's just painful!

Oh and I can't believe they didn't win! I never thought they'd actually lose! Although, kudos to the writers for not making the Glee-world perfect, so that they always win. I was just always in the belief that they would win Regionals, and then maybe lose Nationals....but it was too sad, I mean, I was CRUSHED! However, not that we saw much of the other teams, but I'm not sure they really tried hard enough to win. I mean all season they go on about their numbers and stuff...and then don't pull out the big guns for the performance - Let Brittany dance, let Rachel and Mercedes SING OUT....etc. -Although I totally loved their outfits! Pretty pretty dresses!

Ok...so I was all for Quinn not keeping her baby, because while I loved Spike back in the day (Degrassi Jnr High/Degrassi High), I don't think it would have worked for Quinn to keep her baby. The whole Shelby adopting the baby shocked me - and yet I feel I should have seen it coming (I did once she showed up and all....but still....I even mentioned the whole Shelby/Rachel similarity to Quinn and her baby recently). But I just hope there will be a chance to bring Idina Menzel back, because she rocks and as previously gushed, I love having her on tv, so I get to see her!

Anyways, back to Quinn...I kinda hope she doesn't move back in with her mum....does that make me a bad person? We'll see. Not that I like the idea of Quinn being the Glee Club lost puppy, passed around from home to home, her mum annoys me. Unless her mum is really changing her ways, it might be better off for Quinn to stick with Merecedes - they have formed a very odd and unexpected bond...but I like it.
-Just let Quinn sing more!

Oh and I didn't really care about Jesse's song....I mean I love Bohemian Rapsody, but meh...SO over Jesse. And having that song playing while Quinn gave birth was a little weird...
Oh and so not caring about Rachel and Finn as a couple - I could take it or leave it really. They were being kinda cute though. -I kinda feel the same way about Emma and Will...I like the idea, but don't really care if it happens or not. It might be more fun to find better more suited characters to bring in!

But moving on...When the kids all sang 'To Sir, With Love' it got me all choked up. It was so sweet, and pretty and I loved it! Might be my fave song of the ep. I also loved Mr Schuester's rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'...although I was sorta hoping that Rachel/the Glee Club were gonna sing it....but Matt Morrison with Mark Salling did a great job, and I love that version too! And I love all the interactions between the Glee Club members, showing how far they've come as a group, as friends since the beginning. Quinn more than anyone I guess. But it was very sweet.

I have no idea what I'm gonna do with myself until I get to see next season....which probably won't be until after the US trip...I guess I will just have to rewatch all the eps, and listen to the music till I wear it out! Glee I love you, come back soon! :)

Too Many Finales, Not Enough Time!

There were some serious stuff going on in the finales of my many shows this year, and LOST and Grey's Anatomy took a lot of time to comment on, that I haven't had time to comment on the others, who are just as equally worthy of my comment :)

So we have Private Practice....and poor poor Dell. I kinda knew it was coming and all, but they all sort of forgot about him, all day. I'm glad Maya is okay, happy that Violet and Pete are working things out, estatic that Charlotte and Cooper are back together,  and I guess I should be glad that they gave Chris Lowell a proper exit from the show. He's been left out a lot this season, and honestly sometimes I completely forgot about him...I was never a huge Dell fan, liked him a lot, but not loved. -I still like him better than Naomi, so that should count for something :P

But what makes it sadder is that everyone sorta ignored him all day, and obviously didn't make sure he had the best care, I know it was all about Maya...but still...
What makes me feel extra bad is how they have completely orphaned poor Betsey! In almost the one year she lost her mother, wasn't allowed to say goodbye, and then loses her dad....SAD!

Then there was Brothers & Sisters....I had no idea what was going on in that ep, all sorts of things were happening. I knew the last 10 minutes were big, but had no idea what was going come of it - only that Rob Lowe was leaving, and therefore Robert McCallister was most likely a gonner!
So I was all weirded out by the Saul and AIDS stuff....another thing that makes me KNOW they are just making up half this stuff as they go...there is very little forward planning to this series. Then there was stuff going on with Robert and the Government....and telling Justin secrets, or not telling him...
Then there's Ojay being gone, and once again going on about Narrow Lake and how it COULD have potential....that they just haven't found yet.
So they all go for dinner at the old Ojay house....why exactly I'm not sure....Scotty and Saul are opening a restaurant...sounds cool that part - but we'll see what comes of that. Robert collapses, and goes to hospital....I'm thinking is that it!? But nope, he's okay, and they go back to the house. Then there's a call from Narrow Lake, they've found a huge underground water reserve.....which they dance in -gotta admit that looked silly and fun at the same time.
-So we end with them all driving away from Ojay, and Justin and Rebecca are the last to leave....and come across the whole rest of the family (and some other people I believe) involved in a major car accident, involving a huge truck....which we are assuming hit Robert and Kitty, and everyone else then crashed as a result. Everyone is injured to various degrees, Saul is bleeding and won't let anyone touch him because now he has discovered he has aids, Holly is hurt pretty bad, and poor Robert dies of his injuries.
So even though I knew he was leaving, they way they did it was excellent and truely tearjerking! I was bawling! I mean besides killing off one of my faves, they injured everyone else pretty much...and thats a lot to take in in a short amount of time. Rob Lowe we will miss you greatly on Brothers & Sisters!!!!
-I also hope the show runners get it together next season and find a game plan to stick to....this season was all kinds of chaos.....anyone remember Ryan?.....Can anyone say, HUGE WASTE OF TIME?!

Moving on......The Good Wife ended with a nice little friendly cliffhanger - no deaths, or explosions or anything dangerous....just a nice little who will Alicia choose, her husband Peter or Will? Personally, I don't really have favorite choice at the moment.....but if she doesn't choose Peter, Chris Noth won't be in it much next season...and that would suck.
-Oh and it was nice to have Amy Acker in a little cameo, since her husband plays that cop Kalinda is hanging around....although not really up to par with her past 'butt kicking' roles.

Parenthood had a pretty weak finale....they wrapped up the Haddy/Amber issue storyline which was nice....both of them have impluse issues! They also wrapped up the parent's issues - well they spoke to each other, and thats a start. Other than that, there wasn't a lot happening....but then it was only a 13 ep first season, and maybe they will build to something more interesting next season.

Parks and Recreation had an okay finale....It had Rob Lowe in it which is fun- Doesn't mean I'm not mad at him for leaving B&S though...He's sticking around for a little while I believe. It is always fun to see his funny side come out. But other than that there wasn't tons going on, not that ever is on that show. I know Mark won't be back next season, but I doubt that will have much effect on the quality....I mean it's all about Amy Poehler really!

Cougar Town also had an ok, nothing special finale....but its not really a fantastically special show, so that was to be expected. -Yay for Taye Diggs guest starring next season!

Modern Family's finale was fun, a family photo theme....a perfectly good way to go out....Lets see how things go in season 2!

I think that's all my finales for now....I've got a whole post for Glee (of course). So stay tuned!

Grey's Anatomy The Finale

Wow it took a while to get through writing up my thoughts on Grey's, but to be fair, there's A LOT to comment on....and better late than never.

So OMG, possibly the best Grey's finale ever! I mean...this was ER traumatic! But this ep had me on the edge of my seat, or rather, rocking on my bed. 2 hours (well, 2 42 minute halves...) of stressful, painful, heartbreaking writing and acting from the Grey's Anatomy gang....they pulled out all the stops this year, I'm sorry I ever doubted they would get back on track!

I went into the finale knowing nothing other than it was big, but I started the 2nd ep by accident, so was spoiled for Derek getting shot....but holy crap I didn't expect what else they did!

So firstly, Michael O'Neill playing a really bad dude was kinda heartbreaking, after all those years as Secret Service Agent Ron Butterfield on The West Wing.....but I'll get over it.
Secondly, I didn't care much about Reed....and her death just reminded me of when Eden died in Heroes (played by same actress), it was just very similar. But I did feel a little sad for poor April, that was a lot of blood...and her best friend and all.....

But when that guy shot Alex I screamed "Alex" really loud that I thought someone would run into check on me! (But they didn't). Poor Alex...I was in agony hoping someone would find him after he pulled himself into the elevator! It was just....

I was so happy for Meredith at the beginning, I was trying to decide earlier in the season when they were discussing a McBaby whether I was for it or not....and decided I was for it. However, you know things are never gonna turn out well when Meredith is being too cute and happy for most of the first ep.
And hats off to Ellen Pompeo for her acting, I always feel she never gets enough credit or praise, but she's awesome!

The whole Bailey and Charles stuff was so sad. Because like Bailey I never really cared about Charles Percy, but the effort she put into trying to save him, and then when he died it was super sad....however not as sad as other stuff... Also when Bailey told Clark that she was a nurse to avoid getting shot, it was just so sad, and yet smart...

Lexie almost got shot, that was impressive how she sorta gave herself up. After working with Mark to save Alex who she decided she loved, and he called out for Izzie in his dying state....Poor Lexie, she can't win.
The whole ep was about people's relationships, in terms of romance, or just professional. The bond Christina and Meredith have is something I love about Grey's, even though I have never loved Christina - which I think is partly to blame on the fact that I never like the guys she's dating. But when Meredith pushed Christina down in order to get to Derek, it was such a 'woah' moment. Meredith's come a long way.

Derek getting shot was a major catalyst for the storyline. But while I don't LOVE McDreamy, I love him because Meredith does - if that makes any sense. So when he gets shot, I feel for her. And the fact that Christina is the only one that can save him, means a lot for the Christina/Meredith relationship. When Christina won't let Meredith watch, and all she can do is sit and wait with April...who I gotta say has bugged me all season, and still continued to bug me in the finale, but I did feel some sympathy for her when she expressed her grief over Reed.
So then comes the biggest stresser of the episode, Owen not letting Meredith know that Clark has a gun on Christina while she's operating on Derek! Like things weren't bad enough already for Christina, she didn't need more pressure....but then when Meredith comes in, and gives herself as an ultimate victim for Clark - because she's Derek's wife, and like a daughter to the Chief (Weber will always be The Chief), and Lexie's sister....I mean...the tears were rolling by this point! But then when they trick Clark into believing Derek is dead, and putting Meredith through that heartbreaking moment of believing he's dead....it just killed me!

And then Meredith had to stitch up Owen, who got shot in the chaos....and when April tells her she's bleeding, and Meredith just states matter-of-factly that she's having a miscarriage....that was perhaps the saddest moment of the finale. Because she was unable to grieve or even really acknowledge it....It just broke my heart. I just wanted to give Mere a bit hug!

Ok the body count on this ep, just in terms of injury, not just deaths, was unbelievable! From Reed, to Alex, to Percy, to Derek, to Owen....and all those other people in the hospital. It mean, that was A LOT of main characters to get injured. Oh the humanity!

Major props go to Callie Torres for taking charge and staying calm when Clark came to the kids floor. Poor Arizona - I'd be scared too! At least some good came out of the scare though, big YAY for Callie and Arizona getting back together!

Now for the other characters I haven't mentioned....Mark helped Lexie save Alex....in perhaps one of the most complicated love triangles/circles there's been in a while. Mark still has feelings for Lexie, poor Lexie loves Alex, Alex calls out for Izzie - rendering the Lexie/Alex pairing no good. And then there's Teddy (who I still think has a ridiculous name), and who also played very little part in the finale at all. I liked Mark and Teddy, but I think that's doomed cause he still loves Lexie....and since Christina and Owen are officially back together, I am not sure what the future holds for Teddy. -And I was just starting to like her too! I know she's getting promoted to series regular next season, but I'm not sure where they can go with her. Christina has almost out-grown her teachings....as proven in the finale, when Teddy was not around to help Derek. Also since Teddy and Owen are not gonna become a thing, and it looks like Teddy and Mark might be doomed...I hope they find good stuff for her next season.

Jackson Avery - I do like Avery a lot. He and Meredith had a good bond going, being royally inbred and all, with famous family members always hanging over their heads. Looks like he's sticking around, and I was glad they didn't kill him off. He's the one Mercy West-er that I actually liked.
And Owen...well I don't have much to say about Owen, except that he's an ok guy, I just don't care about him much.
Oh and the Chief! I forgot about the very cool bit where the Chief walked into the hospital and convinced Clark to shoot himself, instead of him.....Good stuff!

So there are some more people joining the cast next season. I don't mind that, I just hope they service all the characters properly. I don't want good cast members not getting good material, cause there is nothing worse than having characters starting to suck....it'd be better if they just were written out!
Bring on season 7. -Oh and I'm totally ok with s8 being the last, as long as they write it well!

-I hope I didn't forget anything, I'm sure I did....there might be a follow up :P

Thank Heavens for Glee!

So I'm listening to the latest Glee soundtrack for the umteenth time....and thinking to myself just how glad I am that Glee came into the world!
It all started last year, when I heard about this new show starting about a glee club....back then I had no idea what a Glee club was. -Then I learned it was a musicial show....and those never had a good track record for staying on air. Mostly I paid attention to news of it because it was announced that Kristin Chenoweth was going to guest star....and I'd watch just about anything for Kristin! Victor Garbor guest starring was also another draw card.
So in March or whenver it was that they aired the pilot, we watched it and thought it was interesting, but were not sure how long we'd want to watch it......boy we were fools!

So then in September the rest of the episodes started airing, and within a few eps I was totally hooked! Obsessed even! I loved Rachel, her voice was amazing, and the others slowly became favourites of mine too. I was iffy on Puck, untill he sung 'Sweet Caroline'....I do like guys who can sing :P Even the characters I hated at the beginning have become faves, like Quinn!

I bought the first soundtrack, then the 2nd....and downloaded the songs I liked that were not on the soundtracks. I watched the episodes over and over....I also passed them onto my sister and my mum who both became hooked....in a lesser degree than myself obviously.

So 13 episodes aired, and then there was a long wait for new eps, Sectionals is one of my Glee faves. Lea Michele continues to blow me away week by week!
Finally new episodes aired, and brought Idina Menzel into the Glee-verse, allowing people all over the world to see the awesomeness that is Idina. The same for Kristin...however Kristin has done more movies and TV than Idina. I have loved Idina since I first saw RENT the movie. But there is very little out there to see or hear of her's. Glee has allowed me to get semi-weekly fixes of Idina. So thank you to Ryan Murphy for getting Idina on!

Now there's only 1 more ep left of season 1 part 2. Can't wait. While these last 8 episodes have had their ups and downs, some fall into my least fave category, others into the all time fave one.....I have been ever as obsessed, and am not sure what I'm gonna do for months without it. -The same thing I did with every other series I love/d I guess.....deal, and rewatch!

LOST Series Finale Wrap up

Well finale season is just about over, with only a couple of shows still running. I plan give my thoughts on all the finales, with single posts dedicated to LOST, and one to Grey's Anatomy, and then another for the rest.

Lets start with LOST.

Well....firstly...I watched the finale last tuesday night, at a LOST finale party, with Ness, Nick and Brett. Pretty much all our reactions were the same.....what the heck was that?!
Its not that I didn't like it so much as, it kinda came out of no where, and I am not sure if it satisfies me.

It has been a few days now, I've had time to process, and I just rewatched it last night. So I can finally do my thoughts.

Firstly, that ending was really strange....I was perfectly happy with the whole island ending. Jack is the new Jacob (obvious choice or not), gets stabbed by Flocke/Man in Black, Flocke gets shot by an injured Kate and is kicked off cliff, Jack fixes broken island, dies, Hurley takes over as new Jack, Ben stays to be his deputy. Which is a perfect ending for Ben, who has always been very connected to the island, and wanting the power of the island.

There are a few unanswered things about this part of the finale in regards to the characters though;
Desmond apparently will live and somehow get home.....
Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Richard and Lapidus leave the island on the Ajira plane...we assume they get home? I mean....it is left very open...
Rose and Bernard we must assume are still living in their shack?
Claire finally gets to be with Aaron again?
Kate and Sawyer? - Do they pair up in their post-island, post Jack/Juliet world?
--Not that any of these are important....but still things my brain wonders in the wake of processing ever

The ending ending, the whole sideflash world being some kind of meeting place to all go together to the afterlife....weirded me out. I guess it makes an ok ending, not great, but ok.
I mean...I must say I'm glad that it didn't end up being that they were dead all along and that the island was never real....cause that would have been a kick in the face, as bad as a dream senario would have been.
But part of me had always liked the idea of the side flash world being like a parallel world, where they could have chosen which to live in, in which Sawyer would have chosen a world with Juliet, and a good portion of the rest would have chosen the island world.
Desmond even teased at something like that; his better world thing, before he goes down into the light….it was a misleading way of saying the side-flashes are a parallel world….which in a way I would have preferred…..

The end actually reminds me a little of the finale of the Chronicles of Narnia books. (spoilers - for those who haven’t read them)…..
But at the end all the people who have visited Narnia, except 1 of the siblings, dies in a train accident and they all get taken into a new world by Aslan, because Narnia dies too.
I guess thats all part of the whole Biblical thing LOST had going on.

I like the idea that people reunite with those they love/those that mattered, in their afterlife.
I loved the idea that Sawyer and Juliet were soul mates....and that scene where they reunited was so cute and sweet.....made me really really sad. I was a fan of Kate and Sawyer, and would have loved to have seen them get back together (maybe they did once they got off the island...who knows, but she did profess her love for Jack just before they left, so probably not....) But I always felt that Sawyer and Juliet had a really special relationship. They had those 3 years for it to grow and develop....without having to worry about escaping, or surviving, they got a real life for a while. They didn't have the obstacles that Sawyer and Kate had. So since there was an afterlife, I'm glad they got to stay together forever.
I think of Sawyer and Kate in an Amy/Josh from The West Wing way....were great fun, but were never meant to last forever!

I also liked the symmetry of Jack’s eye being the final shot, like from the start of the pilot ep. And Vincent the dog lying next to him. Little things like that are nice.

Liked that that last bit had no sound in the church, that those people came back together in their after life or whatever. Would have been weird with sound.  - I must say I LOVED the music in the finale eps. ....Although that very Western part was a little weird.

It was cool that they brought back so many characters that had died much earlier, like Shannon, Boon, etc, in addition to Juliet, Sun, Jin, and Sayid. But it was odd to see characters who had never ever met in the story, sitting in a room together, like Juliet and Boon….messed with my head.
I also think it was odd to have baby Aaron, I mean, ok he was a catalyst, but it seemed weird to have him there…..but then again….I guess he was just as much an important character in the early days too…

However, I find it interesting that Ben never went in....does that mean he's not part of the gang? He wasn't as meaningful to ALL of them? or just JACK? The moments between him and Locke, and him and Hurley outside were really nice.

Also, I find it interesting that Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte were featured in that world, but not part of the main group at the end, like the rest of the island people that showed up in the side-flashes, like Alex and Danielle. Also.....why weren't Richard and Lapidus part of that world?  - I guess they were all guest stars...not main players.
.....And speaking of Richard, since he got a grey hair, does that mean he will age now? or not....It just seemed weird to me for Richard to gett off the island and flying on a plane....but I guess he's not actually Mr Jungle like I think he was....its part of my missing LOST history/memory.

The whole sideflash thing with Jack being formerly married to Juliet thing was weird....and just another issue for the whole Juliet – Jack – Kate – Sawyer relationship mess. At least it ended ok. I was never a fan of Jack, so never liked him with either Juliet OR Kate....Sawyer I liked with both, but if I had to choose....I'd pick Juliet and Sawyer, for the previously mentioned reasons.

-The fight in the rain was a total finale cliché - I can name quite a few other series or season finales with big epic fights in the rain....

In terms of my predictions for the finale predictions, I didn't actually have many. I never really thought they'd kill Kate, turns out she's wonderwoman!
-I was right about Jack, and Hurley, that they were the new Jacob (never thought there would be more tahn 1 though) - that was it…..although technically they were all dead at the end….so in a way…I was right about that :P

Oh best quotes from the finale.
“I was shot by a fat man” - Charlie after being woken up by Charlotte.
and
“I don’t believe in a lot of things, but I do believe in duck tape!” - Miles fixing the airplane.

Ultimately, LOST ended well.....I think. I still seemed like an odd weirdass ending, but at least they did wrap up the Island part of the story, and I guess that's what matters. But part of me still thinks the whole last season would have been better if the side-flashes had been left out....especially for the finale....but then I guesss no one would have been satisfied with just.....we have  a new Jacob, now lets go home....ending.
Plus the other world left people guessing for most of the 6th season, so I guess that is important for LOST....always keep them guessing.

Unanswered Questions  - I always thought they'd reveal the name of 'Man in Black' at some point....cause they worked so hard to not give it away....but I guess its more mysterious to never name him.
-I'm sure I'll remember some more things that were never resolved later on....but I can't think of anymore that don't really make sense right now.

Whether or not it ended well, I think I am still unsure to whether I am satisfied or not....but since I don't feel too lousy about it....I guess I'm good with it.

Finally, I have some general comments to add on LOST as a whole.....
-apparently Ben is the Sark of LOST….bad, good, bad, good…etc   As well as the series punching bag! I wonder if there is a count out there of the actual number of times he has been beaten up/tortured?....Probably.
-I am now wondering if I have ever commented on the fact that LOST, like Grey’s Anatomy, had a Dr Shephard (diff spelling) and a Dr Burke? ABC is unoriginal apparently when it comes to doctors.

Oh and then there are the saddest LOST deaths.....
-Juliet’s was absolutely brutal, even though I knew she was gonna die, it was just a horrible way to go, and really emotional….not only was I bawling my eyes out in the season 5 finale….but then had to relive it all again in the s6 premiere when she was still alive, before dying in Sawyer’s arms. Gut wrencher!

-Charlie’s was also a really really sad death….Alex's death was pretty sad too, and Shannon's....and Boon’s back in the day…but quickly got topped by others.
-I'm sure I'm forgetting others....Libby's was sad, but only because of how it hurt Hurley....I found Libby annoying, if I remember correctly.

And now I'm done. :)
I am looking forward to being able to rewatch the whole series again in the future, in quick succession, hopefully I will understand a little more of it.....or at the very least, get to relive some of my fave LOST moments from one of the best shows on TV!

SNL: We Want More Girl 'Best Of' Episodes!!!!!!

So in the past year, I have been becoming obsessed with Saturday Night Live....okay 'obsessed' might be too strong a word....but after years of being in the dark, I finally have been watching a lot of episodes.

Firstly, it's not my fault I haven't seen that much - Australia never aired it on free-to-air tv, only the Comedy Channel on foxtel airs it...and even then they cut out half an hour of it to make it fit into 1 hour. My buddy Brett downloaded some eps, and they made their way to me. Then I saw the Amy Poehler best of....and was hooked!

I remember watching plenty of eps back in the day on foxtel, maybe 2 years ago now. They were airing eps daily at lunchtime, so I got to see the whole progression from Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey, to Amy and Tina, to Amy and Seth Meyers. Plus I got to see a lot more of people I had only caught randomly over the past 10 years. To me, SNL greats are Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, Rachel Dratch, Tina, Amy, Darrell Hammond, Chris Parnell, Will Ferrell.....plus from the current cast, Kristen Wiig, Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, Will Forte.

Now that I'm watching some new and old stuff, I've grown attached to the talent....and really wish they'd find some better female talent. Those new young girls, are annoying. They are all young, look the same, and are not even that funny. The guys are all great, but the girls (Kristen Wiig not included) are just not cutting it, they are nowhere near the standard one comes to expect from SNL.

Oh so onto my whole thing about how excited I was to see Maya, Amy, Tina, Rachel, Ana, and Molly back last week for the Betty White ep! I was in SNL heaven! They brought back some of the classic SNL characters, and did some hilarious sketches. Made me even madder, that they have not released more 'Best Of' eps for the girls. Will Ferrell has 3....okay totally deserved...but Amy Poehler got one, and Jimmy Fallon has one.....Molly Shannon has one....I would LOVE to see a Maya one, and a Ana one, and a Rachel, and a Tina one. So I've started a facebook group to get a Tina one out there....now I know people say that will never happen, and she hasn't done that many sketches....but I wouldn't care if it was mostly Weekend Update....that would ROCK!

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=119472291419646&ref=mf

So here's hoping we can use the internet to achieve something!

LOST....Finale Countdown

Well...there goes another ep.....I can't really explain my relationship with LOST....I know it all started with JJ Abrams back in the day, as a big Alias fan, and also a fan of television dramas. But when it had buzz coming out of the US 6 months before we got to see it, I knew I would watch it....And even though I am pretty sure I have seen every episode ever....at least in the last 3 seasons anyways....I have very little recollection of the first 2....but I don't think I ever missed one....anyways thats what recaps are for.

When it comes to LOST my brain is a bit of a sieve. I mean its a lot of information to take in in 42 minutes (or 60 with ad breaks)....My brain has never functioned the way LOST really needed it to. I am fan of SO many shows that there is just not room to focus on every little detail that the writers throw at us each week.

I must say though, its amazing how I never gave up on it. - Mostly because my friends wouldn't let me, they fuelled my interest, and once I started downloading it and was able to watch it when I was awake, and without ads, I was able to really get into the whole thing.

Now I'm not some really smart fan who has all these theories....I've always watched for the characters mainly. I find it funny how I hated Juliet for so long, then loved her just in time for her to die....-A serious theme with me....my fave characters always die.
Speaking of which....I always said that I would never be able to make predictions...but based on last week's ep, I think Kate is gonna die....which would suck....but then I have this feeling that they are pretty much all gonna die. Except maybe the candidate....which may or may not be Jack....I never liked Jack much, even in the beginning... It could also be Hurley...he's got some stuff going on there...

Oh and I must comment on this weeks Allison Janney ep (which I have to call it, instead of this weeks ep with Allison Janney). It was really weird watching Allison Janney as a guest star in a show like LOST. Different to how I felt when she guest starred in In Plain Sight, because that was Stunt Casting really. They got another West Wing actor to play a similar type role. But this was totally different. And I must disagree with the reviewer that commented on this ep, and said all they could think about was C.J Cregg.....I never thought about CJ. I guess that might be because I have always felt Allison Janney is one of those people, like Meryl Streep, who can play anything, and it never feels like the same character. It might also have to do with the fact that my love of AJ goes all the way back to 10 Things I Hate About You.....and goes through many other of movies. The West Wing came later.
I thought Allison was awesome in the ep....her character however created many new questions...SOOOO helpfull with only a couple eps left EVER! Not to mention, how crazy/evil/bad she was!

Oh well.....time will tell....or not...I have a feeling that everyone is gonna feel very unsatisfied with the finale....I bet it will answer hardly anything, and create a whole world of new questions....they are just THAT good at it!
One more ep this Tues/Wed, then the big finale Sunday, which will be aired at Ness' LOST finale party on Tuesday Australian time. It'll be fun to watch together, maybe we can help each other keep track of what's going on....and stop some of us who might be inclined to cry if we were viewing it alone, to do so in a group!

-Side note.....I gotta say, Allison Janney has the most honest, kind eyes. Oh and if ever someone makes a movie about me....I want AJ to play my mum :P

TV, TV, Everywhere....and Not a Drop to Drink!

Well I did it. I finished season 5 of Grey's Anatomy. The finale was really hard to watch, knowing that it was George the whole time....it was easier when you only had a little amount of time to get really upset....rather than it growing as the ep went on!
However, now that I've finished season 5, and am back to watching s6....I'm totally confused and lost. I might have to rewatch this seasons eps before the finale, cause Ellen Pompeo hinted that you will need to know what's been happening this season.....and with watching seasons 4 and 5 at the same time as 6....I'm a little jumbled.

Now lets talk Glee! -  Well after a slow, slightly dissapointing first ep back, and then an interesting Madonna episode....which was both fun, yet not quite up to what I want from the show.....ep 3 came along with Kristin Chenoweth singing 3 great songs, and great songs for the others....however a whole ep without a Rachel number was both weird and refreshing. But I think I even liked this Kristin ep better than the first one!
However the 4th ep was not my fave either, I didn't care about Olivia Newton John or Physical one tiny bit. I did like You Can't Touch This....and Emma standing up for herself....but none of the songs really stood out as ones I NEED to download. I mean they finally let Puck sing, and make him share with Finn (and Jesse...who I like less each week sadly).

Brothers and Sisters- I think I can see where they are heading with Robert and Kitty.....I just really don't want him to leave....I think that show is slowly losing the plot. Sometimes it feels like they make up the show each week as they go...without really planning out the arcs. I mean whatever happened to Ryan...he was just a pointless boring character! And I really could care less about Luc....

Parenthood - Still LOVING this show. SO glad to have Lauren on tv every week! And I LOVE that its not just her on that show that keeps me coming back each week. The stories are great. The characters are all great - there is not realy anyone I hate...which is refreshing! The only thing they need to work on, is the editing of the credits. Every ep goes from Cold Open to credits without any proper 'crash' or transition. It feels really out of place. I LOVE that it has credits...I just worry that the editors have forgotton how to transition into them....go back and watch The West Wing, or Dawson's Creek, or Gilmore Girls....they all had it right. The credits should not feel out of place with the rest of the ep, it should blend, keep a tone. Anyways...that's my 2 cents on the credits.

The Good Wife - Well....after Peter stormed out of the apartment, setting off the alarm....I was kinda looking forward to him going to back to jail.....I didn't really care much about what was going on in this weeks ep. I did like Will playing Judge though, that was kinda fun.

P-Rex - SO glad to finally have this show back...1 month was way too long to be away. Although there is only a few eps left, and that mean not long with Mark....however we get Rob Lowe, so I guess that's worth it.

Modern Family - Everyweek I feel a little bad for this show, cause it gets pushed to the back by all my 1 hour dramas, but I really do enjoy this show.

In Plain Sight - Still really enjoying this show....the one problem is that they had Allison Janney on so early, and now no other ep can live up to that! Steve Weber's ep was fun, but last weeks was a token slow ep. I'm sure it will be more fun when Josh Malina comes back....and we figure out what's going on with Brandi.

Private Practice - So glad Violet is finally back!....AND she wants Lucas!

LOST - ok....OMG! I know I had been thinking over the last few eps that they should start killing off the main characters early, cause no one would expect it....and then there was this weeks ep! They SHOT Kate!...which I guess means she won't be around too much longer....she was shot in the chest. Sun and Jin had a very sad exit, and Saiyd had a 'hero' moment - taking the bomb away and being blown up as a result. They also got rid of Lapedis we asssume....but no one really cares about him do they?! So we're left with Jack, Sawyer, Hurley and an injured Kate....oh and Claire and Flocke (faux Locke)....and Desmond...
-I have no idea how this is all gonna turn out, and what it has to do with these alternate world scenes.....but its gonna be AWESOME....and I'm guessing really really sad :(  Must remember tissues for the finale.
-Also ....can't wait for Allison Janney's ep. She's seriously going for TV domination this year!

Now...there was something Ness and I were trying to figure out the other day, recently we were watching a scene of something, where someone had a cup of coffee, emptied it out cause it was hot, filled it with water, and then threw it at someone.....and we haven't been able to place it. To me it sounds like it could have been, Gloria in Modern Family, Mary/Marshall in In Plain Sight, or Charlotte/Cooper in Private Practice. But then it could have also been from a movie....so maybe we'll never know.

Anyways...that's my TV-recap.

A Little of This, A Little of That

So at this current moment, I am in the middle of a West Wing Quiz, where you have a list of actors and have to name the characters they play. Grouped by difficultly....I have an issue with this in that Dule, Janel and Rob have been placed in the 2nd easiest group, while Jimmy and Alan who were on the show much much less are in the easy group....
Presently I am trying to remember Anna Deavere Smith's, and Adam Arkin's characters. ....Stanley..... It might come to me by the end of this post.

So it's been a while since I've posted much. I've been watching a lot of Grey's Anatomy lately. I finished season 4 and am just past halfway through season 5.
In terms of current tv, its been slow lately....however Glee came back last week. And it still rocks. I have some issues, but they might resolve themselves. So excited that Idina Menzel is in it! Kristin Chenoweth's ep airs next week. SUPER EXCITED!
Lost is up to ep 13, so not many left now. I'm gonna be really sad when it goes....cause other than Grey's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters, all my shows are new or young.

The Good Wife has been on break, which sucks. It somehow evened out my Wednesdays. For some reason all my shows are on on Tuesdays in the US, so its Wednesday by the time I get them. The pecking order used to go, LOST, and then Parenthood or The Good Wife - alternating. Now it goes, LOST and Glee first, then Parenthood and The Good Wife. It doesn't matter which goes first in each set.

Parks and Recreation has been on break for ages and doesn't come back till next week. It better be a good ep! Modern Family and Cougar Town are still on, and I still can't let go of Cougar Town. I like it too much....but it's probably my least fave of all my shows.

I've been getting some extra stuff while things have been on break. I got some Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey was awesome. I got Taylor Swift's one from last year. And there are a few more that I can get.
I watched 2 eps of How I Met Your Mother  - one for Amanda Peet, and one for Carrie Underwood. I have to admit that I really don't like that show much at all.

......still no clue on Anna and Adam's characters other than his first name is Stanley....Damm Will & Grace, all I can think of is Stanley Walker...and I KNOW that's not right.
I give up....oh yeah Nancy McNally!.....and Stanley KEYWORTH!  I also missed Mark Harmon, John Goodman, James Brolin, and Zeljko Ivanek. But that's not THAT bad.

Makes me sad that of the 3 people that answered the forum, only 1 person knew Mary McCormack's character, and NONE knew Kristin's character :(     -These are not my people!

That is all I've got for tonight.

Its All Rob Lowe's Fault!

So while I am so excited that Rob Lowe has joined twitter (@RobLoweProfile), he tweets a lot about things related to The West Wing, in addition to Brothers and Sisters. Now this is both great, and really annoying at the same time....because the more he talks about it, the more I want to watch it.

Now there is nothing wrong with me wanting to watch TWW, but the problem is once I start, I want to watch more and more....

A while ago, Rob mentioned something about Sam and the census...so that has been stuck in my head and today -feeling uninspired of what to watch, I gave in and decided to watch the ep with Sam, CJ and the census. Took me a little while to find it...I knew it was either ep 4, 5 or 6 of season 1. (its 6. Mr Willis of Ohio for future reference) The funniest thing was that for the first time in awhile, I was watching an episode based completely on characters other than Josh and Donna...and didn't even know what they were doing in that ep. So I am proud of myself...and at the same time dissapointed in myself that I didn't remember that its the "I want my money back" ep.

At least I was able to watch that 1 ep, and go away feeling satisfied, without having to watch anymore. Maybe I'm growing. :)

Parenthood

Ok so I officially LOVE this show! I just gets better and better every week!

So I am a lifelong fan of the movie with Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Dianne Wiest, and Mary Steenburgen...and a bunch of other big name starts (or ones that grew into big stars). I used to watch it everytime it was on tv, and then I bought the dvd. So when I heard they were going to make a new tv show out of it....I was interested. When I heard my ER gal Maura Tierney was gonna star I was definately gonna check it out. Plus Peter Krause was also a big drawing card.

Then Maura had to drop out, and Lauren Graham stepped in. So that was it there was no choice in the matter, I HAD to see it.

So I watched the pilot episode, trying to keep my expectations low....and they were completely exceeded. I really liked all the characters...and now at episode 4...I think I've finally learned all their names...'cept for the mum...I have no idea!

I always had concerns that Lauren wasn't going to get to have much 'Lauren' in her character...that she was going to be straighter than usual....thank goodness that didn't happen! She's a fun character. And I really like her and Mae Whitman as mother and daughter. I love that I don't feel like she's being Lorelai Gilmore, Sarah feels like a whole new character - exactly as she should. And the more I watch, the less I even think about it.
-Although I make a rule not to watch any Gilmore Girls on days when I'm going to watch Parenthood...for my own sanity!

I must say I love that even though they are the lead stars, it doesn't feel like the Peter and Lauren show...I love Erika's character, and I even love Dax's character and I was never keen on him. -But he's great in this show! I love that every character feels just as important as the other -'cept for the mum...I dunno where she went. lol It feels like a family ensemble, which is great. Plus its great writing and actoring from every single person, right down to the tiny kids! Here's hoping it sticks around for a while...or I might be truely heartbroken all over again!
Plus you have no idea how happy it makes me to have a great drama back on NBC!!! Keep up the good work NBC!

Grey's Anatomy

So while Grey's Anatomy has been probably my third fave of the 3 ABC dramas that I watch, Private Practice, and Brothers & Sisters taking the first 2 slots, I've decided after watching episode 17 of season 6 that I am feeling the need to have little discussion about Grey's here on the TV blog.

Firstly.....There are WAY too many blondes now. Its really all Lexi/Chyler's fault - she was their token brunette. Teddy and Arizona were blondes coming into it...although they kinda had too many back then too....cause there was also Izzie. -Ah the days of when Izzie was the only blonde. Meredith has always been inbetween, not brunette, not blonde...but even she's looking extra blonde these days.
But now I'm starting to confuse Lexi and Arizona on first glance. Lexi needs to go back to her normal color, sooner rather than later.

Also...I'm not sure if its just that I'm in the middle of watching season 4 on dvd, but this weeks episode felt very Meredith light. Now I remember back at the beginning I was not the biggest Mere fan...but times have changed and now I enjoy her. But I guess she can't be all over every single ep.

Although I must say, I now have grave fears for the future of Callie and Arizona...which sucks cause I really like them as a couple. I could care less about Christina and Owen...but thats mostly cause I've never really cared for Christina as a character.
I like the idea of Mark and Teddy - that one little bit was a bit cute...however I am anticipating that nothing will come of it. I can't believe how much she used to bug me at first, but I'm starting to really like her character now. Its odd, and scaring me a little...
I'm fairly indifferent to Alex and Lexi....probably cause I'm watching s4 and they're together then.

Another issue I'm having with Greys now is that they seem to have fallen into a time/space continum plot hole. The first 3 seasons were 1 year, intern year. Season 4 started off as the next year, but now in season 6 I am not sure where we are....I can't figure out if Lexi is still an intern or not. Is it still 1 year later? Cause thats a lot of crap to fit into 1 year, Izzie's cancer, Sloane's kid and her baby, and everything else. I don't get it. -At least the stories are getting better.

We're coming towards the end of season 6 now, so something big has to happen either way with someone. I wish Meredith and Derek would just do something, they're being boring at the moment.
I also kinda hope that next season is one of the last, because it doesn't seem like the kind of show that should go for years and years....I hope they wrap it up properly and don't let it get too stale.....however, having said that....I am really starting to like this show again, so I don't want to let it go yet....maybe 2 more seasons...

MIA

I'm just coming off almost 2 days without internet access, and I'm a little crazy....but I just came across this pic of Janel Moloney, and I'm not sure if its just me, that I've been watching too much Grey's (plus Night at the Museum, or truth, but in this pic of Janel Moloney, she looks like Kim Raver!

It's odd, and annoying....and possibly a sign that I need to stop watching tv!

In other news, I found this really adorable site listing reasons why seasons 5-7 of The West Wing are awesome!
http://community.livejournal.com/hymnformysoul/3765.html

But I must say I am slightly dissapointed in their choices for The Cold...cause as much as I love Kate and Will, we all know that ep is really ALL about Josh and Donna!....ok I spoke too soon...
-Definate points for Freedonia...and including Annabeth!
Sooo good. I really need to watch some more soon....

The Challenge

So I've been saying I'm going to get around to doing a fave episode list for 10 of my top shows. I've finally decided to try and do it week by week, or however long it takes me to decide show by show.

I'm going to start with Friends, or Dawson's Creek...maybe I will be able to do both over the weekend.

The criteria for the select episode will be as follows:
  1. The episode cannot be a big special event episode, eg. muscial, series finale, Christmas/Holiday episode (or similar style), part of a 2 or more part arch, season finale. (however exceptions may apply to some shows)
  2. The episode must be likeable overall, and not just for select scenes. -However I do not have to like every minute of the ep.
  3. The episodes will be chosen for MY own personal love of the ep, not for critic/fan popularity.
  4. The chosen episode must have a good rewatchable quality, not just a really awesome ep artistically, but one that I can't get enough of.
I think that is all my criterion for now, but I may update it later on.

Watch this space to see which ep of Friends I love the most...this week :P

Not As Bad As I Seem!

Eveyday, or at least everytime I go to look up something or someone relating to my numerous obsessions...I find comfort in that for everything I'm looking up, there is someone else out there who has looked up, AND commented about it.

For any lengths that I go to find out what I want to know, there is someone MUCH worse out there. And by worse I don't mean crazy as all looneytoons....but someone who is perhaps slightly more dedicated, or involved than I....however that said....there are plenty of looneytoons out there.

I think I'd consider myself a moderately obsessive fan overall...because while I consider the idea of going to places I know certain people have gone to, in hopes that I just happen to run into them....It's relatively harmless. Additionally, while I feel the need to find out about personal lives of people, and stuff....it really just comes down to a simple google search, and all I really want to know is if something is true or not.

I'd definately say I was obsessive about certain people, following on twitter, googleing, youtubing any interview I can get my hand on, reading any article I can get my hands (well eyes really) on.

But I'm not out there writing fanfic, where the line between reality and fiction (actors/characters) seems to be blurred...I also don't include myself in these senarios....its kinda weird. I also don't publish my comments on the things I look up/find out about the people I like...

So there is delusional, extremely obsessive,...and then there is me. :P

LOST...and others

So I told you it would happen, and it finally did, I'm hooked again. Ep 4 definately had me going OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! And like other's said would happen, I am starting to get sad at the beginning and the end of each ep, cause it's getting closer to the end.
-Wow I just thought about it and its been a long time since an long-running show (more than 2 seasons) of mine has ended. Not counting DVD shows ofcourse. The last one was ER last year...which has similarities to LOST in that it feels like time to end it, and it has been coming, however, unlike ER, LOST has planed out the storyline for year now! So excited to see how it all ends, but yet dredding it like hell!

In other news, I finished season 11 of ER. Which marks the turning point in ER, with Carter being the last original (never leaving) character to leave. I imagine I would have been really sad and emotional the first time I watched his last ep...and I was pretty emotional this time too. I miss Carter already!
However season 11 really lost some big characters, and never really replaced them. They kicked off Corday...then they lost Chen, and then Carter....huh funny, I never noticed they were the 'C' characters! They never really replaced the lost women on that show, and after Carter left there weren't many REALLY GOOD characters anyways...sad.
The problem now is that I don't have season 12 on dvd, and I'm fighting myself from going back and watching season 15 all over again! I'm weak!

Episode 14 of The Good Wife is my fave so far...mainly because Cary got high! But it made for great scenes...and the rest of the story was actually really interesting. I'm so bummed that I have to wait till March for new eps. Damm Olympics are really messing up the TV schedule!
Also this is problematic because a lot of new shows are starting in March, or are coming back in March, so there will be more shows to fit into my download schedule/limit. But it'll all work out.

I'm caught up on Cougar Town. I don't care what people think, I still like it a lot.
I'm slowly catching up on Parks and Recreation. I just watched Megan Mullally's ep...which was odd seeing as I'm watching a lot of Will & Grace these days. I also can't believe I keep forgetting she was even in that show. It keeps happening to me. Oh well. I've seen it now...I had to redownload it cause the first one was a dud file :( Boo. So that's 8 eps of s2 down, so not too bad.

I think that's all for now....I don't have the energy to get into Brothers & Sisters or Greys or PP right now...Maybe I'll save that for the weekend.

TV Time

Wow...long time without posting!!
Well after the awards shows, I went back to my regularly scheduled programs.

I finished season 10 of ER, and am on my way though season 11. I finally gave in and started season 5 of Will and Grace. I still don't have season 6 though, so I'm gonna try and find that on special somewhere soon hopefully.

I felt so bad that not been able to remember the name of one of my fave eps of Pushing Daisies, that I think I will have to watch it when I finish ER.
I'm not quite ready to watch my new seasons of Grey's Anatomy on dvd. I think I'll wait a while. I would like to get Private Practice s1 before I start season 5 of Grey's.

In terms of downloaded shows....Lost came back last week, so I'll be watching that each week now. I enjoyed the first ep, but sadly it might take a few eps to get completely re-hooked, hopefully not too long cause there are not many eps left!
A lot of shows were on break, so I was downloading season 2 of Parks and Recreation, which I'm enjoying. But it will now have to wait till I have space after my other shows. I'm loving The Good Wife - and have now got my mum hooked. I only just watched a new ep, and can't wait for another one next week! Looking forward to new Modern Family too!

In othe news - I'm on a mission to pick 10 shows and try and pick my fave from each. More criteria to come, but it will mostly be based on which ep I love, and can/have watched over and over or something like that.
So far I have narrowed down the shows....I think. lol

Two Sides of the Same Story

So since we've had a major heat wave these past few days, I've been watching a lot of Dawson's Creek lately. My sister and I are almost at the end of season 3, thanks to a few days of temperatures in the late 30's. For the past few days it has been way too hot to do anything, but sit in front of the TV under the airconditioner, with a few Super Mario or swimming breaks.

This whole Dawson's Creek thing started after my sister wanted to watch an ep after learning that Joshua Jackson, one of the stars of the 3 Mighty Ducks movies we had just completed watching in full, was in it. Now Dawson's Creek, herefore to be refered to as DC, starting in the US in 1998, I'm asuming we got it in 1999, but I can't be sure. I myself did not start watching it until very late into season 2, about 4 or 5 episodes before the finale. I hate to admit it, but I was one of those people who had never seen it, and since thought it was awful....how quickly that changed. So I myself spent my mid to late teen years loving it to death. I remember taping the season 5 finale that aired the day I left for the US in 2003....and watching it in fuzzing black and white when I got back (this was the result of a crappy TV aerial). And then finding season 6 by accident being played during the day in summer 2004...and taping the last 3 episodes when my family went to Canberra, and watching them in one go when I got back....and bawling my eyes out (even though I had been spoiled about Jen's death due to the internet and channel 10 taking forever to air the eps).

So here we are years and years later...It's been 6 years since DC ended for me, and I'm watching it from the start for at least the 3rd time on dvd, (although it has probably been more time than that), all because my sister wanted to.
It only just occured to me today, that this is totally new to her. I mean it isn't TOO dated, there are the odd references I have to explain to her, but for the most part she gets it. But what I'm really enjoying is watching her follow the character's stories. I mean, I've seen everything many times, and remember pretty much most of what happens. Things just don't affect me the same way anymore. I mean sure there are things to come that I'm pretty sure will draw a tear, but the little things don't do much to me anymore. Today my sister was getting teary over a really sweet slightly sad episode in which Principal Green gets forced to quit...even after Joey and the gang rally around him...

What I've also come to realise, with a lot of things, not just DC, that you can never get back that first time you watch something. There is nothing like being excited about what is going to happen next....I miss that with The West Wing...I LOVED not knowing....and even when I knew things, I didn't know details. While I am enjoying other things about rewatching DC (and other shows) there is something special about watching something for the first time. I mean...I'm already depressed about Jen and her fate....and it's only season 3.

So next time you watch something new, something for the first time, enjoy it!

A New Year, A New Kind of Crazy!

So my intention, post Christmas, was to watch 30Rock and finish off season  3 of Grey's Anatomy. I have finished off 30Rock. However I have a few discs left of Grey's. -Which is okay cause I just ordered seasons 4 and 5 from Amazon, so I'll be done by the time they get here.

Now the part that is crazy, is that after watching all 3 Might Ducks movies in the last week, my sister decided she wanted to watch Dawson's Creek. I thought she was kidding! lol. I'd been considering going back and re-watching a few times in the last 2 years, but never got to it. So I thought we'd watch the first ep, and she'd be weirded out, A) cause its old, and B) cause its not like any other teen show....especially the ones on TV these days.
But she kept asking to watch more. So I gave it a few more eps, and somehow it has managed to keep her interest right into halfway of season 2. I'm enjoying watching it, while not paying full attention some of the time.
Its hard for me to watch and keep my mouth shut about some of the bigger events. I don't want to give her spoilers, cause I'm interested to see how she feels in the end RE: Joey choosing between Pacey and Dawson. I think part of me is more excited to see her reactions, than the actual bits themselves...which makes sense cause I've seen all the eps at least 3 times each.

In other TV news, our computer died over the weekend, meaning I haven't been able to download anything. Which totally sucks! I do have a couple of eps sitting on the laptop that I can watch, but I'm just not feeling motivated! Plus my laptop currently lives on the computer desk in the kitchen, connected to the net, so I am not going absolutely CRAZY!
Before it died, I had downloaded the first 2 episodes of Parks and Recreation, which I'm enjoying so far. I've also watched the first episode of Modern Family. It's okay. I'm not sure if I like it or not yet. I'll give it a few more eps, its a strage sort of show in terms of format...or something.

I'm sure I'll be branching out soon. Now that I'm done with 30Rock, I'll be able to start one of the many other shows waiting in the wings...aka my dvd shelf :P
Plus JB has Will & Grace really cheap, so I might have to buy up the last 3 seasons. Maybe ER, 2 seasons of that shouldn't take too long.....I hope :P
