Slim Pickings

So blame it on my sucky internet, but I had hardly anything to watch last week. I had Off The Map which I got off Ness on Monday, I totally love that show now! I got last weeks ep of her last night too. It sucks that they are getting rid of Ryan, she finally got interesting. I like Mina though, and I like Lily more too. Poor Mina....she didn't deserve to get fired.

Mr Sunshine this week wasn't that great, I watched it Friday night. It was okay, but not really GOOD. Overall that show really isn't great. Its a pity, it just makes me miss Studio 60 more and more.
Crystal's speech at the funeral was great though. Allison Janney rarely fails to make me laugh!

Parenthood was FINALLY back last week too! But I felt bad that I hadn't been missing it more, and couldn't remember when it was last on. But it was so good! Although I did spend the whole thing thinking how sick Lauren Graham sounded. Poor thing. Its cool that she's getting somewhere with her play. But poor Julia and Joel. I did find it funny how they handled talking about 'fish' around Sydney. Poor Amber...but she can go to community college and move up later...if she doesn't go off the rails...

I also had 2 eps of Harry's Law to watch. That show is not great at all...its watchable...but barely. The problem is the main characters - none of them are overly likable...not a single one is a GREAT character. I can't really relate to any of them...maybe that's the problem. The cases are not that interesting either. It finishes up this week, luckily.

I'll comment on the Grey's musical and PPP later...I'm still trying to decide what I think about the Grey's music event. It was....strange.

Saturday Night TV

So because my family’s internet plan sucks (meaning we only have 25gb to use between 5 fairly heavy media users, and we have already used over 30% in a week), I found myself waiting a day later to download all my TV this week. I also had to make a choice to leave some things till much later, including The Good Wife. So instead of Thursday, I download Mr Sunshine, and Modern Family on Friday, intending to watch them Friday night. But I was busy watching other things and ended up leaving them till Saturday night, which became ‘TV Night’. Since I wasn’t meeting up with Ness this weekend, I couldn’t wait for Grey’s and the PPP, so I downloaded them for myself. –I must say I found it amusing that I was downloading Private Practice for the first time near the end of season 4….but anyways….

The Footy was on in my house, so in order to avoid the crazy, I was settling in for the night with my 4 tv shows. I started Mr Sunshine…which I later realized I should have watched Modern Family first (technically it airs first), but since I’m used to watching Mr Sunshine earlier in the week, I started with that one. But about 6 minutes in I got interrupted by someone playing guitar really loudly outside my door - so I did other things till he was finished.

I kinda hate to admit it, but Mr Sunshine seems to be getting a little better each week. I actually found myself not HATING Alice this week, and hating Alonso a little less too. I loved Crystal’s tweeting, but it made me wish Allison would tweet more….or at all. It was fun to see Matthew Perry playing tennis – this show really is half just about using the many talents of Matt Perry and Allison Janney that don’t get shown off too often. Overall it was a pretty good ep. Poor Roman, but it was so sweet when he got to spend time with his mum. –Also, I don’t even hate the “Mr Sunshine…yay” thing anymore. It keeps getting stuck in my head!

Followed that up with the hilarious Modern Family. Oh how I have MISSED Modern Family! YAY Nathan Lane was back! I love Nathan Lane, and the gay guys were so funny, and I did love Jay mixing with them.
Didn’t get too fussed over Luke’s UP story with the old man next door, but it was nice for him to have his own storyline! It was much better than Haley’s babysitting story.
I’d really love to go back and watch the whole of Modern Family from the beginning again, I’ll have to buy it on dvd at some point.

Then it was on to Grey’s Anatomy…OMG….I just kept yelling at Callie to put on her seat belt because I knew what was coming, and was watching with my eyes half covered! Next week’s musical ep is gonna be very interesting and probably pretty sad! Not that I believe they are getting rid of Callie, but I don't expect it to be easy to watch anyways.
Prior to all this however, the ep was quite fun. One of my fave things was the gang decorating the onesies. Meredith’s big squiggly blob thing was great. “Are you still blind?!”. I loved Alex’s scrubs one, and Cristina’s heart. Very cute, and fun scene. The whole Stark and April thing grosses me out big time! Ick!
I wish I cared more about the Adele thing…I mean, I do care…but not that much really. I like that the Lexie/Avery thing is not too in your face – other than their making out…but I can deal. I don’t love ‘em, don’t hate them at all. I’m good.

It was a little weird not watching Private Practice with Ness, having done so for the last 4 eps or so. I kept thinking of things out loud – although I find I tend to do that anyways.
I found a few of the stories to be kinda similar to old storylines…like Addison thinking she was pregnant…made me think of Charlotte in season 2. The storyline with the wrestling kid – made me think of that runner girl in season 1. All different in some way, but still not overly new stories.
It took me a little while to notice that Naomi wasn’t there in the big group scene…cause I was too focused on the very complicated cup on tea Charlotte was making in the background. (cutting lemons and all....) But I do love group scenes, group kitchen scenes tend to be mandatory in each ep these days, I’m trying to remember an ep that didn’t have one recently.
Anyways I was just thinking about Naomi, (and how Audra said she wasn’t going to not not be in anymore eps, and now she was MIA) when Amelia popped up and I realized I had forgotten all about her, and felt bad. I’ll blame it on the fact that I’ve been watching older PPP before she was there. But I’m so glad I can count on her to make me laugh. She almost always comes through! I loved the “Auntie Amelia”, she sounded almost British.
Speaking of which, my biggest peeve with this ep was Alex Kingston’s (Dr Elizabeth Corday of ER) American accent…what was THAT about?! A therapist couldn’t be British? I’m not a big fan of fake accents…just imagine how weird it would be if KaDee didn’t get to use her real accent! I just don’t really understand how the accent HAD to be American, but it weirded me out anyways.
I like parties though. I liked Violet’s dress. I dunno about Sheldon dating the evil reviewer lady Marlo Tompkins (or Marlo Thomas as I heard every time!). He seriously needs to date someone NOT related to the practice, maybe she’s as far away as he can get! Also…SO over the Addison baby drama. Sam doesn’t want a kid, and is still too hung up on Naomi to be in a real relationship with Addy. I’m not saying I don’t want Addison to get her kid, but maybe she should just adopt one or something…maybe if she was in a proper relationship, or something…I dunno.

Looking forward to next week’s ep, directed by Mr Paul Adelstein himself! I hope we see some signs of wedding plans soon though….only 2 more eps to go, you think they might bring it up in some way. I’d like it to be ‘real’, organized…a little less spontaneous than the other 2 weddings this season. –Its become a season of weddings.

I'll catch up on the rest of the Thursday night (US) tv this week, and the other shows I'll get off Ness when I see her. Its not that I'm in a huge hurry to watch them, but its driving me crazy that I have to limit myself because everyone else is using more. Expect a post on this in my other blog at some point!

A Little More To Go Around

There was a lot more on tv to watch this week. Yay.

Mr Sunshine - Again a not great ep, with a couple of awesome moments. Allison Janney and James Taylor's duet was awesome! LOVED IT! I admit I've re-watched it quite a few times. I love that the show is an outlet for the stars to use their talents, like singing, ice-skating, and tennis. But the stories themselves seriously suck!-

Raising Hope - Good ep this week, no singing though. I enjoy the silly little songs. One little joke about a tsunami in the ep though seemed very freakishly poorly timed - having been filmed months ago.

Off The Map - loved the Wicked reference. Lily Brenner is becoming a little more interesting. YAY. Ryan is a goner...sucky.  Everyone else is also getting more interesting and likable. Which is a good sign.
Enjoying the show overall....its not a fave, but a definite 'must watch' show, which is pretty close I guess.

Finally some of my other shows were back this week. I've missed them!

Glee - We finally got to regionals. YAY. I thought I wouldn't care for the original songs...but some of them were pretty cool. But I still don't understand how original songs isn't against the rules.....but anyways....
Storywise I don't think much happened....except with the whole Quinn, Finn, Rachel triangle. But I don't really care about that. Kurt and Blaine finally kissed....not that I care about them as a couple, but it was really about time. Poor Emma she's gone AWOL again.
-I didn't love their outfits, the blue dresses were not a great color for everyone...and the leggings underneath were unnecessary.
-The Warblers had good songs this week. It was the one week where I didn't care that they had so much of the story, because it fit - unlike other weeks were it felt tacked on.
-fave songs of the week include, Big Ass Heart -I find it hard not to love any song by Puck. Loser Like Me - Very catchy and a lot of fun.
-I loved the foam fingers and the glitter slushies!
-In a way I kinda like that its become the Rachel and Finn show again...hopefully the last few eps of the season will be good.
-One more thing, okay we knew they were gonna win, but what happened to a teeny tiny bit of suspense.
We'll see what the rest of season 2 brings...I hope they don't keep doing TOO many original songs...its gonna get really annoying.

Parks and Recreation - Finally they got up to the Harvest Festival. It was a fun ep. I did miss Rob Lowe though. Dunno when he'll be coming back. But boy was it good to have the show back! I hate when they have weeks off.

Community was kinda weird and almost boring. Minimal Annie - blink and you'd have missed her. The Jeff/Chang storyline was SOOOO annoying. I hate Chang with a vengeance. Britta, Abed and Troy's stuff was not of the most interesting either. Not a great ep, but I guess they can't be great all the time.

30 Rock was the worst! I can't believe how bad that was...well I can, because they had Sherri Shepherd leading it, as an ep of her character Angie's reality show. It was just BAD. Even Susan Sarandon couldn't save it.

Private Practice - So glad to have it back!!!! Not as 'fun' an ep as the previous one, it was still good overall. I do love the ones with ethics issues, because the line always seems to move within the ep - its never a clear decision one way or the other. Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy have always done ethical issues well.
I understand where that couple was coming from, but when did adoption become so low down the list of choices? Its just wrong. They suck! Cooper needs his own kid - he's gonna keep hijacking other's!

-I was glad they finally gave Amelia her own storyline...even as depressing as it was. Even if they had already had a test ep with that girl back in season 1....the whole would you want to know thing is still an interesting discussion..
-The whole Sam/Naomi thing was just wrong...Sam loses serious points for not being to worried about the fact that he made out with someone else while he's dating Addison...not cool!
-I was just thinking recently that they never used the conference room anymore...and then they did. Good.
-stupid Fife. I never liked him last season, so bringing him back wasn't fun. But I guess I can rule out Naomi going off with him as an exit. -My money is on her going off to Africa or something doing good deeds. 2nd option is her going to NY.
-poor Sheldon. Their friendly neighborhood shrink/'not boyfriend boyfriend' got overworked with everyone unloading their problems on him. So funny when he exploded on Charlotte, and told the men to take care of their women themselves.

Next week the fox shows Glee and Raising Hope are off, but some of the others will be back. Yay!

Making The Best of a Quiet Week

So only 6 of the shows I watch are on this week. :(  boo. But I'm making the best of it, and looking forward to new eps of other shows next week or the week after.

Firstly Awwww! Gotta love a Walker Family party. Evan got cute! "Uncle Noodle". love it! Glad to see Kitty back. Thank god! Nice to see Paige popping up, sometimes I feel like they always ignore the kids. But I wonder if we'll ever see Cooper again?! I don't really care about the whole Olivia thing...I wish I did, but I just don't.
Now that he's gone, I kinda miss Tommy, but at least Kitty is back.
This is the 3rd ep of Brothers & Sisters I have downloaded. I normally would just get it off Ness, but with only 6 things on all week - its nice to be able to be up to date. Its on at the start of the week, meaning by the time I get it off Ness, and watch it myself, its time for a new ep again. So this is definitely easier.
I wish they didn't talk about Langley, and DC and the CIA so much. Its making me nostalgic for Alias, and I really don't have time to re-watch that anytime soon.

Mr Sunshine was kinda good this week....it was totally awesome just for the fact that Allison Janney's character tackled a Smurf! It was too hiLARious! Seeing her ice skate with a Smurf was pretty awesome too! - I love when the use the talents of actors in stuff. -There was never a good excuse to have her ice skate in The West Wing.
Ben and Roman's boy slumber party was kinda funny too. Cup hands was silly, yet seriously amusing. But  again I still don't like Alonso, but I can live with that for now.
Its still not a great show, and I wouldn't be that sad if it never came back, but I want to love it, for Matthew and Allison.

Well that's two shows down, four more to go. Seems so sad.

Figures!!!

Okay so Off The Map is growing on me. Ep 6 was pretty cool....I mean...helicopter crashes always make for good stories!

Also, I can't believe that that girl Ryan, who started out to be the most annoying, turns out to be a great character, and may actually end up dying! Figures!
Meanwhile, Caroline Dhavernas' character Lily is getting more annoying...well mostly I don't like the storyline with the guy. -I just don't care about some dude who is hiding from the cops.
None of the other characters are that interesting still...but they are slowly exploring the issues of all the characters which is good.
There is definite potential for it to be a good show. Maybe not great, but good.

I think that last weeks ep also makes Jayne Brook the first person to be on all 4 of those ABC shows. She's been in PPP, Grey's, and Brothers & Sisters. Plenty of people have been on the other 3, but I believe she's the first to be in Off The Map as well.

Oddly enough, this weeks ep of Mr Sunshine was lacking...or maybe it was just me being thrown off by Lindsay Sloane...she's annoying. But overall this ep was boring.
However....that annoying/crazy assistant girl Heather actually is starting to become likable...or maybe it was just the fact that she stood up for Ben. -it was sweet, and shows that she actually likes him.
Alonzo and Alice are annoying...and other than Matthew and Allison I don't really like the characters, but of course I'll keep watching.

Here We Go

So the Glee Super Bowl episode was actually pretty disappointing. It was almost 50 minutes in length, had a few extra songs....but overall wasn't that interesting at all.

I liked that Quinn was all over the ep. Its been a while since they've even used Quinn for much at all.
I liked the Cheerios standing up to Sue and quitting...because she was willing to let Brittany explode out of a cannon.....

I didn't care much for Thriller, although the makeup was cool.
I just didn't care much about the football team, the whole making them join Glee was stupid, but not nearly as stupid as the Glee girls joining the football team to give them enough players....It made not even the slightest bit of sense....I mean Rachel would snapped like a twig!
I don't even know why they bothered having the Warblers in it....Kurt at the game made sense, but the song at the school was unnecessary and didn't fit.

Where the heck was Emma?! Does she even exist anymore?!

I honestly can't even remember 1 song I really liked out of all of them. I didn't hate Rachel and Puck's song, mostly cause I didn't know it.
I don't even know if I care about Sue anymore...she's gotten annoying.
I feel sad that I don't love Glee anymore....it had so much quality and potential in those first 13 eps...before it sold out to popularity and guest stars. -What the heck was Katie Couric doing there?! That was just tacked on and stupid.

On the other side, Mr Sunshine was fresh and entertaining. Although, I must say it was kinda doing my head in. Between all the Studio 60 people, and other people from things....It was a lot to get used too. But it was funny, and not at all terrible. Allison Janney rocks my world. She's crazy and never disappoints! Matthew Perry I'm gonna have to adjust to again, sometimes he just reminds me of Chandler from Friends...or Matt Albie from Studio 60....and I'm gonna have to get over the fact that Andrea Anders is NOT Harriet Hayes (Sarah Paulson). But wouldn't it be great if Sarah could make a cameo appearance someday!
I don't think I could hate the show if I tried.

So moving onto the 2nd episode of Glee for this week. Things were back to normal. The regular ep was much much better in my opinion....if not just for the scene in which Santana had her ass handed to her by Lauren! Definitely a season highlight!
I really enjoyed seeing Santana, Brittany and Quinn in regular clothes...its very rare that we have ever seen Santana and Brittany out of the Cheerios uniform. I like it!

I didn't care much for all the mushy couples stuff, but I guess that's what you get in a Valentine's Day ep. Tina's breaking down in tears during her song to Mike was weird and disturbing. Out of all the songs I only really liked Puck's song, and the Warblers one at the end. Fireworks was okay, but nothing special.

I actually really like the idea of Finn and Quinn getting back together. Mostly cause I just can't stand Sam...he's just annoying. I think that's one of the things I enjoyed most about the regular ep...character development. Even if it was only love interest development...it was something. But I hope they move on next ep to more productive Regionals type progress.

I enjoyed minimal Mr Schue too. Kinda didn't even notice that Sue wasn't there...which was odd..
But seriously...Emma...WHERE ARE YOU?! - She better come back next ep or I'll be PISSED!

Parenthood was pretty heavy this week. Serious drama going on with Sarah's family and Crosby's family. I feel for Crosby, Jasmine really does take control of everything...she needs to learn to let him in...plus he's gotta have a say in his own wedding....if not for the date alone!
I'm on John Corbett overload this week, what with watching season 2 of United States of Tara as well. But it was nice to have a little development in that storyline. It was great to have Drew do something!
Yay Haddie went home...big whoop. She annoys the heck outta me!
Still no Jabbar or Sydney...and Joel and Julia only had 1 tiny tiny scene. Boo. I hope they start doing more with Jules and Joel again soon! -What happened to that 2nd baby idea?

Its been an interesting few days of television...more shows to come in the next few days...yay! I love having my shows back!

Finally All Is Right In The World!

All my shows are finally back as of this week. Plus I'm super excited for Matthew Perry and Allison Janney's new show Mr Sunshine which starts up this week.

Friday night Ness and I watched Private Practice which was finally back after its 3 week break. The ep was good, but depressing, and also lacking something. It wasn't just that Violet wasn't there. I think they were just lacking a little comedic relief...Amelia tried to provide some, but it wasn't enough/of the usual standard.
-I'm also thinking it has something to do with the ep being directed by a non-regular...having only directed 1 other ep back in season 3. Or maybe its cause Charlotte and Cooper were living in the kitchen for most of the ep...or the one patient they had was boring....who knows.
But overall it was still good. Charlotte's slowly coming along in her healing process...although I'm a little scared about what the next ep is going to do to her. Yeeeshk.
I still don't care about AddiSam...and about Bizzy - which may be another reason the ep felt lacking...
Give Naomi more to do, she needs something going on...as long as its something interesting...
-Also...still nothing on 'Charlotte King engagement ring watch' but I know she has it back in an upcoming ep thanks to twitter...but hopefully there will be an explanation for her naked finger.

We also watched Grey's, which was actually a good ep. -Maybe it had something to do with the mininal Owen! Hah! When did Christina gain a heart/bedside manner and become interesting?! Who knew?! Bailey's tweeting of surguries was entertaining.
But I'm still not caring about Arizona/Callie/Mark and the baby....its just not interesting anymore.
I just wish Meredith and Derek would do something. Anything! They seem to wander around and then work on a case for 5 minutes and thats about it. They used to at least be interesting and worth believing in, but now...all the relationships on that show infact...I just don't care.

I watched Parks and Recreation on Saturday. Rob Lowe's character was actually less annoying! Yay! Maybe cause the rest of the ep was kinda annoying...WAY too much Twilight talk for my liking. But yay for Will Forte...I'm missing him terribly on SNL!

Community just gets weirder and weirder...which is both cool and awesome, but also creapy. The latest ep's Dungeons and Dragons storyline was disturbing! I mean it was nice and all, but in a way like Jeff had fallen and hit his head...cause in what other world would he be THAT nice?!

I'm slowly getting through United States of Tara still...I've watched 5 so far. Sometimes I feel like watching a few, sometimes I can only handle 1 ep at a time. It all depends on my mood.

Glee is back tomorrow. I'm not really that excited. I feel sad that I don't care so much anymore, but its just not up to the same quality of the first 13 eps, before they started writing to be popular...instead of for the characters. I could care less about the guest stars...they have so many in the main cast that are not getting used enough as it is! But we'll see. There's another ep this week too, so its gonna be a whole lotta Glee.

LOST....Finale Countdown

Well...there goes another ep.....I can't really explain my relationship with LOST....I know it all started with JJ Abrams back in the day, as a big Alias fan, and also a fan of television dramas. But when it had buzz coming out of the US 6 months before we got to see it, I knew I would watch it....And even though I am pretty sure I have seen every episode ever....at least in the last 3 seasons anyways....I have very little recollection of the first 2....but I don't think I ever missed one....anyways thats what recaps are for.

When it comes to LOST my brain is a bit of a sieve. I mean its a lot of information to take in in 42 minutes (or 60 with ad breaks)....My brain has never functioned the way LOST really needed it to. I am fan of SO many shows that there is just not room to focus on every little detail that the writers throw at us each week.

I must say though, its amazing how I never gave up on it. - Mostly because my friends wouldn't let me, they fuelled my interest, and once I started downloading it and was able to watch it when I was awake, and without ads, I was able to really get into the whole thing.

Now I'm not some really smart fan who has all these theories....I've always watched for the characters mainly. I find it funny how I hated Juliet for so long, then loved her just in time for her to die....-A serious theme with me....my fave characters always die.
Speaking of which....I always said that I would never be able to make predictions...but based on last week's ep, I think Kate is gonna die....which would suck....but then I have this feeling that they are pretty much all gonna die. Except maybe the candidate....which may or may not be Jack....I never liked Jack much, even in the beginning... It could also be Hurley...he's got some stuff going on there...

Oh and I must comment on this weeks Allison Janney ep (which I have to call it, instead of this weeks ep with Allison Janney). It was really weird watching Allison Janney as a guest star in a show like LOST. Different to how I felt when she guest starred in In Plain Sight, because that was Stunt Casting really. They got another West Wing actor to play a similar type role. But this was totally different. And I must disagree with the reviewer that commented on this ep, and said all they could think about was C.J Cregg.....I never thought about CJ. I guess that might be because I have always felt Allison Janney is one of those people, like Meryl Streep, who can play anything, and it never feels like the same character. It might also have to do with the fact that my love of AJ goes all the way back to 10 Things I Hate About You.....and goes through many other of movies. The West Wing came later.
I thought Allison was awesome in the ep....her character however created many new questions...SOOOO helpfull with only a couple eps left EVER! Not to mention, how crazy/evil/bad she was!

Oh well.....time will tell....or not...I have a feeling that everyone is gonna feel very unsatisfied with the finale....I bet it will answer hardly anything, and create a whole world of new questions....they are just THAT good at it!
One more ep this Tues/Wed, then the big finale Sunday, which will be aired at Ness' LOST finale party on Tuesday Australian time. It'll be fun to watch together, maybe we can help each other keep track of what's going on....and stop some of us who might be inclined to cry if we were viewing it alone, to do so in a group!

-Side note.....I gotta say, Allison Janney has the most honest, kind eyes. Oh and if ever someone makes a movie about me....I want AJ to play my mum :P

TV, TV, Everywhere....and Not a Drop to Drink!

Well I did it. I finished season 5 of Grey's Anatomy. The finale was really hard to watch, knowing that it was George the whole time....it was easier when you only had a little amount of time to get really upset....rather than it growing as the ep went on!
However, now that I've finished season 5, and am back to watching s6....I'm totally confused and lost. I might have to rewatch this seasons eps before the finale, cause Ellen Pompeo hinted that you will need to know what's been happening this season.....and with watching seasons 4 and 5 at the same time as 6....I'm a little jumbled.

Now lets talk Glee! -  Well after a slow, slightly dissapointing first ep back, and then an interesting Madonna episode....which was both fun, yet not quite up to what I want from the show.....ep 3 came along with Kristin Chenoweth singing 3 great songs, and great songs for the others....however a whole ep without a Rachel number was both weird and refreshing. But I think I even liked this Kristin ep better than the first one!
However the 4th ep was not my fave either, I didn't care about Olivia Newton John or Physical one tiny bit. I did like You Can't Touch This....and Emma standing up for herself....but none of the songs really stood out as ones I NEED to download. I mean they finally let Puck sing, and make him share with Finn (and Jesse...who I like less each week sadly).

Brothers and Sisters- I think I can see where they are heading with Robert and Kitty.....I just really don't want him to leave....I think that show is slowly losing the plot. Sometimes it feels like they make up the show each week as they go...without really planning out the arcs. I mean whatever happened to Ryan...he was just a pointless boring character! And I really could care less about Luc....

Parenthood - Still LOVING this show. SO glad to have Lauren on tv every week! And I LOVE that its not just her on that show that keeps me coming back each week. The stories are great. The characters are all great - there is not realy anyone I hate...which is refreshing! The only thing they need to work on, is the editing of the credits. Every ep goes from Cold Open to credits without any proper 'crash' or transition. It feels really out of place. I LOVE that it has credits...I just worry that the editors have forgotton how to transition into them....go back and watch The West Wing, or Dawson's Creek, or Gilmore Girls....they all had it right. The credits should not feel out of place with the rest of the ep, it should blend, keep a tone. Anyways...that's my 2 cents on the credits.

The Good Wife - Well....after Peter stormed out of the apartment, setting off the alarm....I was kinda looking forward to him going to back to jail.....I didn't really care much about what was going on in this weeks ep. I did like Will playing Judge though, that was kinda fun.

P-Rex - SO glad to finally have this show back...1 month was way too long to be away. Although there is only a few eps left, and that mean not long with Mark....however we get Rob Lowe, so I guess that's worth it.

Modern Family - Everyweek I feel a little bad for this show, cause it gets pushed to the back by all my 1 hour dramas, but I really do enjoy this show.

In Plain Sight - Still really enjoying this show....the one problem is that they had Allison Janney on so early, and now no other ep can live up to that! Steve Weber's ep was fun, but last weeks was a token slow ep. I'm sure it will be more fun when Josh Malina comes back....and we figure out what's going on with Brandi.

Private Practice - So glad Violet is finally back!....AND she wants Lucas!

LOST - ok....OMG! I know I had been thinking over the last few eps that they should start killing off the main characters early, cause no one would expect it....and then there was this weeks ep! They SHOT Kate!...which I guess means she won't be around too much longer....she was shot in the chest. Sun and Jin had a very sad exit, and Saiyd had a 'hero' moment - taking the bomb away and being blown up as a result. They also got rid of Lapedis we asssume....but no one really cares about him do they?! So we're left with Jack, Sawyer, Hurley and an injured Kate....oh and Claire and Flocke (faux Locke)....and Desmond...
-I have no idea how this is all gonna turn out, and what it has to do with these alternate world scenes.....but its gonna be AWESOME....and I'm guessing really really sad :(  Must remember tissues for the finale.
-Also ....can't wait for Allison Janney's ep. She's seriously going for TV domination this year!

Now...there was something Ness and I were trying to figure out the other day, recently we were watching a scene of something, where someone had a cup of coffee, emptied it out cause it was hot, filled it with water, and then threw it at someone.....and we haven't been able to place it. To me it sounds like it could have been, Gloria in Modern Family, Mary/Marshall in In Plain Sight, or Charlotte/Cooper in Private Practice. But then it could have also been from a movie....so maybe we'll never know.

Anyways...that's my TV-recap.

I warn you now...I wrote this when I was totally exhausted and therefore probably completely out of my mind....but I felt the need to share!

So I know it really should have occurred to me by now…and probably has before, but I have forgotten….but I realised that there are people out there who will see exactly the same thing I do, and think about it in a totally different way to me. What I like/have seen/appreciated/am aware of etc…affect how I will read something.
For example, my mum and I both watch Brothers and Sisters, and have from the beginning. So in terms of the characters and the general story of the show, we have the same history to pull from in our understanding of what is going on.

However, there is also all the material we bring from our pre-existing knowledge/history/adoration etc of the actors/writers etc… We knew going into the series that Calista had done Ally McBeal, and that Sally Field had done many things and loved them for them. I knew about Patricia Wettig and Ken Olin being actually married. I knew Ron Rifkin from Alias and so that made me see his character in a different way to my mum.

Now I didn’t really know anything about Rob Lowe when he started in Brothers and Sisters, and am not sure if I even thought that much of him after that…I knew I liked him, and knew that he was from The West Wing, and some 80’s movies…but not a whole lot else. Then I watched the West Wing…and while that changed the way I see almost everything, I now realise that my love of him from TWW makes me love his character more. I “aww” at him, and like his smile and him in a tux makes me happy. But my mum isn’t a fan, she doesn’t love him. And as a result does not get so excited to see him in the show, I mean she doesn’t hate him or anything, but she does adore him like I do. She doesn’t understand why I giggle when he says something overly political, or grin when he’s wearing a tux, but she can appreciate the character most of the time.
So if I take that logic to anything else…I A) start to feel bad(and kinda sad) for all the people watching movies with Allison Janney in them, that don’t or can’t appreciate her awesomeness! It’s really their loss, and I am sure most of them don’t know what they are missing. And B) worry about the people that watch the same shows I watch, and don’t get why so many people love certain characters they don’t, and also how so many people can actually HATE characters that I LOVE to death!
I wonder if there will ever be the day I will not be watching something and be able to connect it back to one of my fave TV shows. I also worry that someday I am going to either miss something, or not be able to hate the characters I should, because I am too attached. I mean its sorta happening already, but I imagine in the future, my brain might completely end up changing a movie or show I’m watching, and I will actually believe a very different outcome to what ACTUALLY happened.
