I know this is late, but there wasn't really a whole lot to talk about. Apart from Modern Family there were no real winners that I was interested in...and none of the people I REALLY wanted to/or thought deserved to win, did not.
Jimmy Kimmel wasn't a terrible host, but he wasn't really very intestering. In fact they should just let Amy Poehler host - her little thing with Julia Louis Dreyfus was the best part!
The other funny thing I liked was the Modern Family clip with the girl that plays Lily being a monster on set...very amusing!
I really though Elizabeth Moss and Amy Poehler were robbed for awards this year. I felt like it was their year...no such luck.
Anyways...thats pretty much all I have to say on Emmys 2012.

Friday Night TV Madness
So because I was out Thursday night I was a day behind on my tv. But since I was A) pathetic & B) exhausted, I had no plans Friday night and was able to use that time to catch up. The Friday shows took ages to download, so while that was annoying, it made it easier.
Suburgatory was quite good. Ana was a bit scary, but in a good way. Lol. -I really liked Tessa's party dress!
Modern Family was ok, but I think I've stopped caring about that show. Its just not as funny anymore.
Revenge was pretty good, glad it was back again. And wow, Ringer just keeps getting more and more twisted. I love it!
Bones was good. Nice to see Daisy in it again. I thought I didn't like her, but she's pretty entertaining.
Community was very lame. I didn't care for the ep at all. -Gotta say that Jeff dressed up as The Dean, I swore he looked just like David Cross from Arrested Development.
Parks and Recs. SOOOOOO good. But I must have been tired, cause the stuff with Leslie and Ben at the end made me cry....and then very very happy!!!!
I gotta say, I know Amy Poehler is funny as heck, but she has really nailed the dramatic stuff this season!!!!
And YAY for Ann, and decent Ann too! When did Ron become Andy's dad?
Private Practice took its time downloading, and so I didn't get to watch it till Saturday lunchtime. But it was SOOO worth the wait. The first hour was awesome, the intervention thing was done really well. Caterina Scorsone did a fantastic job. I also thought it was good to see Charlotte's reactions to things, like not voting on giving Amelia drugs and knowing that she was lying through her teeth - given her drug history and friendship with Amelia!
It was good to finally see Addison step up and take a little responsibility for Amelia. It really was Addison, Charlotte...and apparently Sheldon's place to take on Amelia...as they are the only ones that were friendly, but it was good the others were there to help...an allied front is always good. -I still think it sucks that they never called Amelia's mother and brother in...maybe in the future.
-Sheldon is starting to freak me out...he's old enough to be Amelia's father, so any relationship there is just wrong...plus he's already been with Violet and Charlotte...how big of an office slut is he?!
There were a few funny moments, like Amelia chanting for drugs, the riddler convo, and Violet and Pete cracking up on the kitchen floor.
The 2nd half was good, but a little odd....like Violet and Addy being friends...its seems weird. Plus Charlotte is now on the outside. -I miss Violet and Charlotte with martinis.
Violet and Pete make me sad. I wish they'd get over their crap....cause they can't split...that'd ruin the show!
Cooper missing his kid's play was soooo predictable...poor Charlotte having to go without Cooper and sit in the front row...(still funny picturing Charlotte King playing video games...). I liked Charlotte's crack at Addison "10 miles of bad road" (whatever the heck that means), and Violet telling her off...it was a nice little flashback to the good old days....when Charlotte had spunk.
I guess its good that Jake got a little more backstory, a convenient tie-in too. But I just don't like him. I miss Naomi. Something feels wrong this season...and it can't be just that Naomi is gone, cause she was never there that much anyways....I'm still thrown by the fact that its been 9 eps and Char and Coop haven't mentioned sex once....what happened to these people?! lol
Oh...one more thing....did they actually celebrate a holiday/event in PPP?! They've never even referenced holidays before...and also....since when can Addison cook?! But it was still nice.

Emmys 2011 Verdict
Well I wasn't that excited for this years Emmys I must say. I wasn't sure about Jane Lynch hosting....but she was actually pretty good...and WAY better than the last time FOX hosted them - anybody remember that round stage with the people sitting ON the stage itself? TERRIBLE! But I would have rathered had Jimmy again.
My fave fave fave part was the Lead Actress in a Comedy pageant! When Amy Poehler rushed up on stage, I almost died of laughter! And then when the rest of them got up...it was just pure awesomeness! I would have loved any of them to win...I am SO glad that Melissa McCarthy (or Sookie St James as she will always be to me) won....I love her, even though I don't watch her show....but I kinda wanted Amy Poehler to have her turn! Maybe some day she will win. I also was rooting for Martha Plimpton, but she'll get more chances...just look at Kristin Chenoweth!!!
-Also I totally vote that those 6 ladies host next year's Emmy's. They'd be unstoppable!
I feel bad for the people in the categories with Maggie Smith and Martin Scorsese...your odds are pretty damm slim!
I was also excited to have such a large SNL presence at the emmys. Kristen, Seth, Andy and Lonely Island, Lorne, Jimmy, Amy and Tina....its weird seeing Seth out and about now...and getting interviewed on the red carpet.
While I have been grizzling about the PPP and Parenthood not being recognized this year - when they really really deserved to be, I did give them points for at least including them in their drama show clips - PPP especially, cause it never gets as much attention.
As for the Red Carpet - I wasn't stunned by any of the dresses particularly...nobody really stood out this year.
My faves are all just people I thought looked really nice. Aubrey Plaza looked really pretty all dressed up...she cleans up nice when she's not April. Jayma Mays looked really nice too. I even thought Amy Poehler looked good in her blue number...or maybe there's something wrong with me. -Oh and I was disappointed in Dianna Agron this year, she's normally one I LOVE for fashion, but she still looked nice.
The interviews all sucked too, except for every Amy Poehler and Will Arnet one! Those two should have a talk show someday...or you know...host an awards show.
So overall....yay for the Modern Family awards! yay for Julie and Ty...I loved that Phil and Claire got awards...and that the show won. Yay for Mad Men...but maybe next year a different show will win, starting to get sick of those two hogging all the awards!
That is all.

TV Catch-Up
It's been a while since I've written about my TV. Its still summer tv season, so there isn't as much to watch and so not as much to write about. -The Emmy noms came out, and at least 1 of my 3 got nominated. Yay for Martha Plimpton for Raising Hope. But I still think KaDee Strickland was robbed for PPP! I mean if that didn't get her a nomination, what does it take?! I feel bad that everyone was talking her up, as being a potential nominatee. And Parenthood seems to be in the same group with PPP, not getting any big awards attention - but at least they both get some special awards for stuff that really matters.
Last Monday night I watched the Helpman Awards - Australia's version of the Tony's. It had plenty of good parts, but overall was boring as I only cared about the musical awards and spent most of the the time sitting on YouTube. It also went for ages so I ran out of time to watch In Plain Sight. So then that ate into my tv time Tuesday night. I ended up not watching Weeds and The Big C till Wednesday, but that actually worked out nicely. Other than those shows (and Rizzoli & Isles on Tuesdays), that is all the new TV I have. I have been watching some old SNL. I watched the Queen Latifah one from season 30 Sunday night. Its fun watching ones with Tina, Maya, Amy and Rachel in them.
And then when I'm REALLY bored or only have a little time, I've been watching Hot In Cleveland. It sucks, but not enough to stop me watching ...YET.
I've been watching the 1st season of Parks and Recreation on DVD. Luckily I finished it before I got this job -The same goes for Alias actually! I just finished the commentaries for P-Rex this past weekend. Overall the dvds are great especially for 8 bucks! The commentaries are great and with cast members. There are also music vids for Mouse Rat/Andy's songs. The Ann one is all cute Amy and Rashida bloopers/alternate takes. I really want season 2, but I'll wait for it to get cheap...I have principles. Not that 25 bucks is expensive, but it seems more than necessary.
Other than that there are no TV dvds I'm watching. I finished Alias -and while I remembered the last episode...I found myself not remembering a good deal of the last 2 seasons....also I could not for the life of me remember what happened to Sark!
Come September all the last seasons will come out on DVD. So I'll have lots to watch, and will have to find the time!
This week was the In Plain Sight finale. It was really good! I really thought they were going to kill Rachel Boston's character or Delia in that big hostage situation. But Brandi running out on her wedding and then Mary going into labor or having complications or whatever really works too! -I'm gonna guess that maybe we won't be seeing anymore Joshua Malina.
Well I guess that is more than enough for one blog post...I'll try to blog more frequently, so it doesn't get smushed together.

Weekend TV - The Good and The Bad
The weekend is where I catch up on all those shows that air on a Thursday night in the US.
Starting with Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, which I watched last night....
Grey's was a whole ep set within an actual hour...it was interesting. Having it set so the whole ep was following Meredith around (except for a few parts with Teddy and her guys...) was different. But the stories sorta made me want to pull my hair out for realisticness....but anyways, I don't really expect that from Grey's.
Don't care about Bailey and her nurse-man. Interesting things growing between Lexie and Avery, and Alex and blondie....not really caring about those either. I'm glad that they are still talking about Mer and Der having their baby, but did it really have to be so hard for them? - Also Meredith's telling Christina not to accept the Godmother role for Callie's baby...when did Christina and kids become something you'd use in the same sentence?! I did like perky Meredith...she's just silly. The future ficticious baby makes for really cute scenes...I can't believe after all these years that no one locks the on call room door, or knocks before entering it! crazy people!
I was kinda expecting more people to die and for her be kinda responsible for it....but it worked out awfully well. Only 1 guy died. Yay. But her talking to that guy's kid on the phone was sad.
Also definite potential for the Adele story...it will be interesting to see where that goes.
Private Practice has stolen the dark and twisty title from Grey's. Poor Addison...herefor know as Addizombie (thanks to Ness for coming up with that!). It made sense for Addison to be keeping her mother's cause of death a secret...from other people...I understand that. It was really creepy how stepford she became. The Addizombie was dark and twisty, and really weird - but in a good way I guess. The whole situation was really strange, a PPP fieldtrip....I understand Naomi, Sam and Amelia coming and being part of everything - they knew Bizzy...I can understand that Charlotte, Cooper and Pete (who I don't think was that keen anyways...) wanted to be there for the Addizombie. But it was weird, and not just because these people don't belong in wintry climates in winter! It was kinda funny to see them stuck in the Montgomery mansion, under Archer's orders...If I was them I'd be running for the emotional warmth of a hotel too!
Poor Pete was pretty pointless in the whole thing...probably didn't NEED to be there, and said hardly anything all ep...although it was totally worth it just to hear him call Amelia "ridiculous".
Having Violet back was really not as fun as it should have been...she was suddenly back with not a single ref to when she got back, and more than a few days could have passed since the last ep. But most annoyingly, was that it was all Violet and Sheldon alone in LA, with a just about equally depressing story.
I'm hoping that things start to get lighter in rest of the season. I want some fun back for my OWGers.
---Charlotte King Engagement Ring Watch has had a development- she had her ring back in this ep....which was filmed this year...so I'm guessing....they just forgot about it in those last few eps they filmed last year? Odd....
Today I watched Community, Parks and Recreation, and also last weeks ep of Harry's Law.
Community was kinda lame...the whole mock mockumentary was a weird look for the show. The story of Pearce being in hospital and messing with everyone by bequeathing things to them was strange and annoying. I tend to almost always hate Pearce stories. My fave part was Britta and Jeff acting out how reuniting with Jeff's father would go.
P-Rex was annoying this week. The problem with that show is sometimes its a great ep, and then I find anything after that really lacking. This week involved April making Andy do her 'chores' which was sweet and entertaining. The whole Anne and Chris thing is annoying. Also Leslie and Ben were not interesting me at all this week. I makes the whole show a lot less fun, when even Amy Poehler's character is not getting my interest. Hopefully since the last few eps have not been of great substance...that hopefully one is bound to pop up soon.
Harry's Law is slowly pulling me in. It's not the best show on tv, but David E Kelley has managed to create a show that matches up to his old standards. I don't really LOVE any of the characters, but they're all growing on me. I'm all caught up now which is nice. I'll stick with it...its not like I'm wishing I was doing other stuff while I'm watching it, so that's a good sign.
In other news...quite a few of my people/shows are nominated for a Prism award, which is an award for media which deals with substance abuse and mental health issues. Tough competition....but really the whole of Parenthood against a few eps of other things....not fair.
Drama Series Multi-Episode Storyline – Mental Health:
* Grey’s Anatomy – “With You I’m Born Again”/”Shock to the System”/”Superfreak”
* Parenthood: Seasons 1 and 2
* Private Practice – “Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?”/”What Happens Next”/”Can’t Find My Way Back Home”
* Sons of Anarchy – “Oiled”/”Caregiver”/”Home”
Female Performance in a Drama Series Multi-Episode Storyline:
* Edie Falco, Nurse Jackie
* Sandra Oh, Grey’s Anatomy
* Monica Potter, Parenthood
* Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy
* KaDee Strickland, Private Practice

Not Enought Time!!!
So I raced through season 2 of Las Vegas, and through season 3....but then the day after I finished that I started working full time....so I finally got to start season 4 yesterday, a whole week after the finale of season 3!
Now that I'm up to season 4 I have to watch it on the old original downloaded eps, so the quality is annoying, but better than nothing.
I LOVE season 2....Silver Star is one of my fave eps, and the one where the girls go out to the desert....and the one with Michael Buble in a bubble....
Season 3 was still good, but I was never a fan of the new building....and the stories started going down hill...
I don't remember hardly anything of season 4...so its TONS of fun to watch. I've only watched 2 so far, but should get time for more this week. -However I do recall the quality going downhill....and it was all Danny and Delinda, and as cute as they are....it was always supposed to be Danny and Mary.....
-which brings me to Mary's little tantrum from the premire eps.....she was acting like Danny was cheating on her behind her back and everyone knew....I always liked Mary, but that was crazy in a bad way! By the end of season 4, she had dated someone else, as had Danny...I dunno...I guess I can see her issue with Danny and Delinda never telling her, but other than that - she had no dibs on Danny anymore! (which I think was an actual line....)
anyways...moving on. I'm still in loved with Delinda's wedding dress from season 3! SOOOO pretty!
Oh and in other tv news....I've started watching Damages and am really loving it. Its addictive. I've got a few eps left of season 1 to go. I'm loving Covert Affairs - Piper Perabo and Kari Matchetts new spy drama....not up to Alias standards, but still really fun! Hot In Cleveland is still entertaining. United States of Tara has its ups and downs. And I'm still not sure about Community...I watch it when I don't feel like something else, or something I can do other things while I watch. The Good Guys is stupid and silly, but when watched with Vanessa can be appreciated!
I've also been watching a lot of old SNL, from the last few seasons....I'm enjoying having Amy Poehler there. The ep with Amy Adams was fantastic! And not just cause her and Kristen Wiig sang 'What is this feeling' from Wicked!!!

I've also been watching a lot of old SNL, from the last few seasons....I'm enjoying having Amy Poehler there. The ep with Amy Adams was fantastic! And not just cause her and Kristen Wiig sang 'What is this feeling' from Wicked!!!

Too Many Finales, Not Enough Time!
There were some serious stuff going on in the finales of my many shows this year, and LOST and Grey's Anatomy took a lot of time to comment on, that I haven't had time to comment on the others, who are just as equally worthy of my comment :)
So we have Private Practice....and poor poor Dell. I kinda knew it was coming and all, but they all sort of forgot about him, all day. I'm glad Maya is okay, happy that Violet and Pete are working things out, estatic that Charlotte and Cooper are back together, and I guess I should be glad that they gave Chris Lowell a proper exit from the show. He's been left out a lot this season, and honestly sometimes I completely forgot about him...I was never a huge Dell fan, liked him a lot, but not loved. -I still like him better than Naomi, so that should count for something :P
But what makes it sadder is that everyone sorta ignored him all day, and obviously didn't make sure he had the best care, I know it was all about Maya...but still...
What makes me feel extra bad is how they have completely orphaned poor Betsey! In almost the one year she lost her mother, wasn't allowed to say goodbye, and then loses her dad....SAD!
Then there was Brothers & Sisters....I had no idea what was going on in that ep, all sorts of things were happening. I knew the last 10 minutes were big, but had no idea what was going come of it - only that Rob Lowe was leaving, and therefore Robert McCallister was most likely a gonner!
So I was all weirded out by the Saul and AIDS stuff....another thing that makes me KNOW they are just making up half this stuff as they go...there is very little forward planning to this series. Then there was stuff going on with Robert and the Government....and telling Justin secrets, or not telling him...
Then there's Ojay being gone, and once again going on about Narrow Lake and how it COULD have potential....that they just haven't found yet.
So they all go for dinner at the old Ojay house....why exactly I'm not sure....Scotty and Saul are opening a restaurant...sounds cool that part - but we'll see what comes of that. Robert collapses, and goes to hospital....I'm thinking is that it!? But nope, he's okay, and they go back to the house. Then there's a call from Narrow Lake, they've found a huge underground water reserve.....which they dance in -gotta admit that looked silly and fun at the same time.
-So we end with them all driving away from Ojay, and Justin and Rebecca are the last to leave....and come across the whole rest of the family (and some other people I believe) involved in a major car accident, involving a huge truck....which we are assuming hit Robert and Kitty, and everyone else then crashed as a result. Everyone is injured to various degrees, Saul is bleeding and won't let anyone touch him because now he has discovered he has aids, Holly is hurt pretty bad, and poor Robert dies of his injuries.
So even though I knew he was leaving, they way they did it was excellent and truely tearjerking! I was bawling! I mean besides killing off one of my faves, they injured everyone else pretty much...and thats a lot to take in in a short amount of time. Rob Lowe we will miss you greatly on Brothers & Sisters!!!!
-I also hope the show runners get it together next season and find a game plan to stick to....this season was all kinds of chaos.....anyone remember Ryan?.....Can anyone say, HUGE WASTE OF TIME?!
Moving on......The Good Wife ended with a nice little friendly cliffhanger - no deaths, or explosions or anything dangerous....just a nice little who will Alicia choose, her husband Peter or Will? Personally, I don't really have favorite choice at the moment.....but if she doesn't choose Peter, Chris Noth won't be in it much next season...and that would suck.
-Oh and it was nice to have Amy Acker in a little cameo, since her husband plays that cop Kalinda is hanging around....although not really up to par with her past 'butt kicking' roles.
Parenthood had a pretty weak finale....they wrapped up the Haddy/Amber issue storyline which was nice....both of them have impluse issues! They also wrapped up the parent's issues - well they spoke to each other, and thats a start. Other than that, there wasn't a lot happening....but then it was only a 13 ep first season, and maybe they will build to something more interesting next season.
Parks and Recreation had an okay finale....It had Rob Lowe in it which is fun- Doesn't mean I'm not mad at him for leaving B&S though...He's sticking around for a little while I believe. It is always fun to see his funny side come out. But other than that there wasn't tons going on, not that ever is on that show. I know Mark won't be back next season, but I doubt that will have much effect on the quality....I mean it's all about Amy Poehler really!
Cougar Town also had an ok, nothing special finale....but its not really a fantastically special show, so that was to be expected. -Yay for Taye Diggs guest starring next season!
Modern Family's finale was fun, a family photo theme....a perfectly good way to go out....Lets see how things go in season 2!
I think that's all my finales for now....I've got a whole post for Glee (of course). So stay tuned!

SNL: We Want More Girl 'Best Of' Episodes!!!!!!
So in the past year, I have been becoming obsessed with Saturday Night Live....okay 'obsessed' might be too strong a word....but after years of being in the dark, I finally have been watching a lot of episodes.
Firstly, it's not my fault I haven't seen that much - Australia never aired it on free-to-air tv, only the Comedy Channel on foxtel airs it...and even then they cut out half an hour of it to make it fit into 1 hour. My buddy Brett downloaded some eps, and they made their way to me. Then I saw the Amy Poehler best of....and was hooked!
I remember watching plenty of eps back in the day on foxtel, maybe 2 years ago now. They were airing eps daily at lunchtime, so I got to see the whole progression from Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey, to Amy and Tina, to Amy and Seth Meyers. Plus I got to see a lot more of people I had only caught randomly over the past 10 years. To me, SNL greats are Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Molly Shannon, Rachel Dratch, Tina, Amy, Darrell Hammond, Chris Parnell, Will Ferrell.....plus from the current cast, Kristen Wiig, Kenan Thompson, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, Will Forte.
Now that I'm watching some new and old stuff, I've grown attached to the talent....and really wish they'd find some better female talent. Those new young girls, are annoying. They are all young, look the same, and are not even that funny. The guys are all great, but the girls (Kristen Wiig not included) are just not cutting it, they are nowhere near the standard one comes to expect from SNL.
Oh so onto my whole thing about how excited I was to see Maya, Amy, Tina, Rachel, Ana, and Molly back last week for the Betty White ep! I was in SNL heaven! They brought back some of the classic SNL characters, and did some hilarious sketches. Made me even madder, that they have not released more 'Best Of' eps for the girls. Will Ferrell has 3....okay totally deserved...but Amy Poehler got one, and Jimmy Fallon has one.....Molly Shannon has one....I would LOVE to see a Maya one, and a Ana one, and a Rachel, and a Tina one. So I've started a facebook group to get a Tina one out there....now I know people say that will never happen, and she hasn't done that many sketches....but I wouldn't care if it was mostly Weekend Update....that would ROCK!

So here's hoping we can use the internet to achieve something!
