LOST Finale Relived & Other TV

So Ness and I finished rewatching LOST on Saturday night. The ending was bad...probably worse than I remembered. But for me it was still worth all of it for the scene with Sawyer and Juliet! They got points for bringing back Boon and Shannon and Charlie. But the whole ending was crazy. They should have just left it on the island and let them go home. Oh well...it was still a great show on a whole.

In other more recent tv news...

Revolution has not been as good the last two weeks on a whole. They have split up the group into Aaron and Rachel, and Miles, Charlie and Nora...and occasionally we see the Nevilles and Monroe.
Last week Rachel went to find yet another old friend that is involved in this power outage mess. -Wish they'd stop doing the...oh Rachel happens to know another random person that knows how to turn the lights back on...thing. Its getting old.
I agree with people complaining about these 2 bit characters they keep bringing in...we don't care. If its not about the main group/s, or involving them a lot it doesn't matter to me.
I don't care about Aaron's wife....sorry, but I don't. But maybe now that Aaron has run into her again, he can get over it and stop being such a whinger.
Speaking of Aaron...Elizabeth Mitchell was pretty much a glorified extra this week. Seriously...more flashbacks please...explaining what the heck was going on with Rachel back in the day, and Ben and Miles...Its a mess! Plus I want to know more about why Bass kept her hostage.
Didn't care about the Miles/Bass/Emma storyline much....maybe the fact that Monroe has a son will have some impact on the rest of the season...but the rest was kinda boring. Miles went alone as ordered...the others turned up of course and saved his hide...
Notes for this week - where did Rachel and Charlie find the hairbrushes and shampoo...and hairdryers?! -why the heck do the people in Georgia dress like they are going to the office/church after all this time with no power and how do they keep them clean and pressed?! - Hurry up with the backstories!

The Good Wife wrapped up for the season this week. In a great twist Alicia made out with Will then agreed to team up with Cary to open a new firm. Its gonna be sooooo good next season! I was also cool that they brought back Martha Plimpton. Her character is great fun. It was also great to have Mamie Gummer in the show the other week. The Good Wife has THE BEST and the most guest stars!

Smash has been really good lately too. Which sucks cause it is probably not getting another season...but I would be sooooo happy if it did!
I love Jeremy Jordan, but Jimmy is really annoying. He doesn't really seem to have any good qualities..and I find myself not caring about him at all.

The Big C is back. Its good that they are doing double length episodes. But there are only going to be 4 eps to wrap it all up. The first one was sad, but great. Can't wait to see how it all fits together in the last 3.

I finished off Parenthood season 3 this week too. I love the show, but on a whole its not the kind that I watch episodes over and over. However it was fun to rewatch it all, and will fill the void till its back later in the year. - thank goodness its been picked up for another season!

I also borrowed Significant Others from Vanessa and watched all 6 episodes this week....just for a little more Elizabeth Mitchell overdose. Jennifer Garner was sooo little...I forgot that it was that old, 1998 is a million years ago! I thought it was around 2000. Anyways...good cast, and had good moments, but overall was slow and the stories didn't connect that well. I had a few notes that I thought of while I was watching: 1) With Jennifer, Elizabeth, Michael Whetherly, and Eion Bailey - I thought give them all guns, it would be interesting - based other shows they have all been in. 2) Between LOST and Revolution I wish Elizabeth's character wasn't married to another BEN! Sorry Tim Guinee...but Michael Whetherly is way prettier than you! lol. 3) Even though I watched it years ago back in the mid 2000's I remembered a fair bit of it.

Alias Revisited

So after many signs and finishing re-watching the whole of Brothers & Sisters, I felt the need to re-watch Alias from the beginning. I haven’t watched it since I got season 5 in 2008.

Firstly it looks SO weird on the big screen... Victor Garber’s face was not meant for such a big screen! Haha.

And I know I’ve watched Alias to many times, and the commentaries, when I can watch the pilot and season 1 finale without the commentary, but hear it in my head anyways! But it is still one of my all time fave shows, and had some of the best commentaries of any show past or present! I plan to go back and watch them all (or at least the cast ones) once I’m done.

Season 1 is awesome, but I’ve seen it the most, so it is easier to multitask to, until one of my fave parts comes up. My fave season one alias’ are, Victoria King, and Christiana Stephens.
Season 2 is perhaps my fave season, it’s the one I really got into the show, and since I only saw the finale of season 1 on tv, where I really fell in love with it! It also has some of the best eps. Phase One is awesome, not only did they take down SD-6 and the Alliance, but Syd and Vaughn finally made out!
My fave season 2 alias, and perhaps all-time fave alias is the one that Sydney makes out of stuff she buys at the Rite-Aid drugstore, turning herself into a blonde sorority girl with a skirt made out of contact paper – in order to escape the CIA tail.

The sad part about re-watching it all, is that I only can remember bits and pieces about what is happened in the last 3 seasons...I remembered a lot of season 3, but now I’m into season 4 and for the most part I have no idea what is coming, with a few exceptions here and there. Its kinda fun, because its almost like new, but also sad, cause I feel like I should remember.

What I’m finding interesting is that now 10 years later, Bradley Cooper is now this big movie star...I mean Jennifer has done okay, and the others were pretty big before, but Bradley went from best friend Will, to action/comedy star. I’m sure somewhere out there people who have become obsessed with him, are going back and watching him in Alias and getting hooked on it – like I have with SO many people and shows. It’s a little weird to look at it that way, but at the same time, its nice to know I was there first! –However, I haven’t seen most of his movies :P

A little under 2 seasons to go, and I’m having so much fun. Alias is one of those shows I loved as a teen and way back in the day, but the love is still there....just hidden under all the new stuff! I still get just as much enjoyment out of silly expressions and accents from Jennifer Garner, as I did back in the day! I miss JJ Abrams having tv shows. Alias did cliffhangers, and surprises like no other show! LOST was way too ensemble to have the same heart that Alias had. But I miss JJ tv. He's become all big time movie guy now!

oh and I’m also trying to watch the 3rd season of Damages, so I’m trying to alternate, but Alias is much easier to watch and not stop. But I’ll get there.

Weekend TV

This week in Television

Brothers and Sisters – SERIOUSLY?! I HATE that Sarah is not William’s child…it kinda ruins the whole William storyline in some ways…
I did enjoy Justin keeping everyone’s secrets. It made for some very entertaining scenes.
Also love the Michelle taking the baby storyline! I mean…its awful, but its good for the story. Maybe now Scotty and Kevin will buy a house…cause where they gonna keep a baby? –Will their apartment magically turn into a 3 bedroom?!
And Saul’s singing was adorable! –Also I have Ron Rifkin/Saul saying “hunnybunch” stuck in my head…I’m sure he’s said it to Kitty before (he said it to Sarah in this ep), and possibly in real world in the Alias commentary to Jennifer Garner! Maybe it’s a Ron thing!

Really enjoyed Parks and Recreation. Even Tom was less annoying!  I kinda want Leslie and Ben to get together. –Andy and April messing with Ben was great! I love that they went to Bed Bath and Beyond..wonder if it was the one on Vine st in LA? It looked like the one we went to last year.
30 Rock was pretty good. Hated the Kenneth/Tracy storyline…but I loved Liz’s little song – it was SO catchy. I want a 30 Rock soundtrack! Loved the references to Invictus with Liz wondering who the white guy was…being played by Matt Damon –who until recently was her boyfriend Carol in the show. –I love little things like that!

Community sucked. I did like the reference to Abed delivering the baby though.  That show is SO hit or miss, and rarely in-between.

YAY after a month being repeats, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice finally had new eps!!!!
I liked Grey’s better than PPP this week.  I liked the gang helping Callie recover. I like the time movement. I loved the scene with Callie pushing Christina and Meredith down the hall on the bed.
-Sorry not caring about Adelle. I know I should..but I so don’t. Maybe its that the Chief has a thing for women who get Alzheimer’s.
-Not sure what they are doing with Teddy…she spent the whole ep outside of the hospital…going on lots of dates, and checking on poor doomed Scott Foley’s character. He’s so gonna die in or by the finale!
-Baby Sofia is pretty cute. She may give Lucas a run for his money as cutest baby on tv.
-it was pretty weird seeing Doris Roberts on Grey’s…she’s gotten so old! I did like the storyline with her character and Alex. Points for Alex for being an actual good doc…he sucks at personal lives, but he is a pretty good doc. –There may be hope for him yet.
-Holy crap who does Meredith think she is?! Breaking into the trial packet room and changing things out was NOT cool. She’s gonna wind up in serious trouble!!!!!
-it was so cute when they all rolled Callie up to see the baby…all covert op style. Avery distracting Bailey was funny. Not as cute as Arizona kissing Stark when he said Sofia could go home though.

Overall theme of this weeks PPP – Being honest about the past.
I didn’t LOVE the whole Charlotte ex-husband storyline a week before the wedding…but at least it was before and not after. I thought she’d completely moved on from her past…but anyways…
The first scene with Charlotte and Cooper was bugging the hell out of me for one reason, could not for the life of me understand her response after he asks her why she kept the picture, -Ness and I had to rewind to try and figure out what she said (I swear sometimes KaDee needs subtitles for her accent), and still had no idea, later I listened a few times myself, and after searching for a transcript that doesn’t exist….I listened once more and finally heard it! “Man cheated on me, I hate him for it, end of story.” I feel like a weight has been lifted! Haha…okay I’m crazy. – oh also I loved the hilarious “Sweet Mullet” line.
But I’m so glad they are finally TALKING about their wedding…having not talked about it at all until now! Not even a mention of who is gonna be Charlotte’s bridesmaid/s (I know who, but we haven’t seen her ask anybody yet). I can’t wait to have the parents turn up! I’m very interested to see what kind of dynamic Charlotte and her ‘Momma’ have.

-I’m kinda sad that I don’t care about Sam and Addison at ALL…I think they’re better off apart! She wants way too much from him, and he has said multiple times he doesn’t want it. And its never good to have a kid with someone if they don’t want it! Sam was a much more interested character before him and Addison…maybe he can get interesting again.
-Amelia apparently does NOT have her own place yet…she is still bunking with Addison after all this time…Its not like she couldn’t afford her own place!
-I also hate that Amelia and Sheldon have simply become the relationship counselors for the practice. Sheldon used to be funny….now all he does is act as Cooper’s therapist, and same goes with Amelia and Addison. Give the people the funny back! And let Sheldon have his girlfriend back…even if her accent freaks me out!

The whole Violet thing is interesting. Poor Pete, but its hard to say whether or not Katie has the rights to a case. I figure that Katie would have to be honest about her past in order to move on as well…so I don’t see how people connecting her to the book is that bad…maybe Katie should move away, start fresh. I dunno. I mean how many people are going to read Violet’s book anyways?!

Looking forward to Weddingpalooza next week...well mostly Charlotte and Cooper...not caring so much about Arizona and Callie. But it should be 2 very interesting hours of tv.
