More Finales, and a Little Fun

So I spent the start of the week catching up with last week's shows. And then there we said goodbye to Glee and Modern Family for this season.

Just when you think you know what is going on with United States of Tara...a whole new twist comes along! Geez! Looking forward to seeing where they take this brother other...is mighty disturbing. –Poor Chicken!
I'm sad that it has been cancelled and won't get a 4th season, I hope they ended it without cliffhangers and such.
Now onto In Plain Sight:
LOVE this show. Last week’s ep (ep 3) was awesome! I loved all the references to The Princess Bride. I LOVE that movie to death! Haven’t watched it in a while, I’ll try to find time this week to do so.  The refs to Casablanca were funny too. I have never seen Broadcast News so I didn’t get those refs.
Great ep, very funny –especially Marshall eating candy while watching the ‘movie’ at the end was adorably hilarious! But my god could this storyline have paralleled Mary and Marshall anymore?! I wonder if they are ever gonna hook up Mary and Marshall?
-Rachel Boston’s character isn’t annoying me anymore. I don’t hate her, I just got sick of her being everywhere at once back in the day.

So since most other things I watch have finished up for the season, I thought I’d use this opportunity to get up to date with In Plain Sight and get this week's ep. Its my fave early week show.
But OMG, Weddingpalooza just never ends!  But yay for more Josh Malina!...did he even speak though?!
-The stuff about 24 was hilarious! As was Stan’s working people throughout Albuquerque in order to kept that women from being discovered.
-I want to hate Marshall and Abigail as a couple....but I kinda can’t.

Now onto the big Glee Finale: New York Style.
So overall I was kind of sucked into the glory that is New York City and what wonderful moments this episode had. But while I haven’t enjoyed Glee as much in a long time, I acknowledge that there were many flaws with this finale.

-Firstly, I LOVED that Kurt and Rachel snuck into the Gershwin Theater and sang ‘For Good’ on the Wicked stage. I could not have squealed or giggled more...I may have even gotten a little teary. But then again, ‘For Good’ always makes me cry! I loved the love letter Glee has going with Wicked. I loved that Kurt was Glinda, and Rachel was Elphie –naturally. That was just simple, beautiful, and also a big moment for Glee.
-I like that Rachel and Kurt realized their futures are in NY. I like that Rachel admits she’d have to choose NY/career over love/Finn if it came to it. –As it should be, but I like that she realized that.
-I loved the little Patti Lupone cameo.
-Liked Quinn’s haircut.
-I liked that the guest stars didn’t take over, they did their little cameos and were done. Even Jesse was not annoying me and taking the spotlight.
-Fave songs were For Good, My Cup, and Light Up The World. The others were nothing special.

Now...What I didn’t like:
-I hated that they went to NY without anything prepared. They hadn’t even written their songs with mere days to go –they didn’t deserve to win! And I didn’t like the Finn/Rachel duet –which I thought they weren’t doing solos only group numbers...I guess duets don’t count. I did like the group number – however, I can’t believe Mercedes didn’t get a part! What does that girl have to do to get to participate?! Maybe if they let her sing lead they might win. I can’t believe Brittany got to sing way more than Mercedes.  Also is Puck ever gonna get his edge back?
-New York looked kinda empty...there were obvious scenes were there was nobody around –like at the TKTS booth in Times Square –that was always packed with people when I was there. -They needed extras! And also if you were looking for it, you could see dozens of people standing behind barriers in the background of some scenes.
-I hated the Belle Notre thing...it was stupid.
-I hated that Emma showed up but didn’t say anything... at least Sue didn’t even show up!
-I hated that Will decided not to go on Broadway...the kids were going on summer break, he was out of a job till next year anyways! That part was just super dooper lame!

I guess I disliked a lot more than I liked, but I still enjoyed this ep. But they have to do something with Mercedes already, and not just make her and Sam a couple - although I don't hate that.

Lastly, Modern Family had their finale tonight, and overall it was really boring. They were all mixed up with other family members, doing things for Jay’s birthday. But I just found that the ep fell flat. I’m a little disappointed, I’ve come to expect far better from this show!

So that's it, all my regular season shows have wrapped up. I haven't caught up on Cougar Town yet, but I'll get there. The Good Wife had a pretty good ending too in my book! Looking forward to where the take that next season.

Distractions

So I do have a post about the tv I've been watching, including the season 2 finale of Glee. But I'll get that up tomorrow.

Since there is very little to fill in my time with now that almost everything is finished for the season...and I don't have a lot to read or feel like watching dvds before bed...I found myself wandering around the internet tonight.
Earlier I was catching up on some Parenthood stuff, watching interviews with Lauren Graham, Monica Potter, Peter Krause and co. The Monica Potter stuff was very cute - I liked her saying hi to Lauren from on stage at the Academy of Arts Television awards the other week.

Then while going through my favorites, including Kristin and Parenthood sites, I then came to the new KaDee Strickland site, and found they had posted a bunch of clips from her pre-Private Practice show The Wedding Bells - which co-starred Teri Polo of The West Wing. I had never seen any of this show, but found that it was by David E Kelley AND Jason Katims (of Parenthood). This was a terrible show and I can see why it only lasted 4 episodes on air. The camera work alone made me woozy!
But I'm so glad it didn't stick -cause then we wouldn't have had KaDee as Charlotte! But she's so weird in Wedding Bells - her hair is dark, which is just wrong...and makes her eyes look blue. Also she can't keep her accent straight, so one minute she sounds southern, the next its gone again. -Thank GOD Shonda made Charlotte King southern and let KaDee use her natural accent!

My fave bit though is her character Annie keeps mentioning someone called Ernesto, which instantly cracks me up because of the "ERNESTA" scene from the PPP which is one of my all time favorites.
There was a good quote or 2 too "A naked woman is shaking my hand." and "Security, bride on fire in the ballroom."

Anyways...I felt the need to share. Plus anything that keeps me from re-watching something on my hard drive is a good distraction. Its going to be a LONG hiatus!

Thursday Night -Finale Night

So the remaining Thursday night shows ended their seasons this past week  -Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Parks and Recreations.  Overall they were nothing special. Both Grey’s and PPP had very significant finales last season, and I’m glad they didn’t try to top them – because that generally leads to major disappointment! There were some good bits here and there though.

Grey’s Anatomy: Last season’s finale was HUGE. There was no way they could top that. But overall this ep was rather lame. It could have been any ep really – except that everyone sorta went separate ways in the end.

So Meredith’s secret was out of the bag, and she was paying for it (as she should), but the Chief is going easy on her cause she did it for Adele. Well...sure okay. Derek was mad at her – fair enough –That’s the problem with Meredith...she doesn’t always see that what she did as wrong...and that’s where she has gotten into trouble in the past.  But I think she felt pressured into saving Adele. They never should have let Adele into the trial...The Chief is like her father, and she doesn’t want to do wrong by him.
Then there’s Alex...He tried to take it back...which you can’t ever do...and Meredith kicked her ‘brother’ out, and he left...even though she didn’t really want him to go, -seriously Meredith think before you act! So I don’t know if they will be able to be friends again next season, I hope so, they kind of need each other.

Christina, Hunt and the baby – I think it’s fair that she does not want kids. People that don’t want kids shouldn’t have them. Hunt wants kids. Firstly HUGE mistake to not discuss this before getting married - but its too late for that. But you can’t have a couple with one that wants a kid and one that doesn’t raising a baby...its not fair to the kid.  –They’re not like Charlotte and Cooper...Christina REALLY doesn’t want to be a mother. She’s not just afraid or doesn’t like kids.

Was not caring about Teddy and her boyfriends...but I gotta admit I’m glad she’s not going to Germany and I’m  okay with Henry sticking around...but the longer he does, the longer I’ll stress that Shonda will try to kill him!
Sloan saying Avery can have Lexie...sounds worse than it was...what he was really saying is that he’s letting go...which is good. Maybe Sloan needs to stop dating for a while!
April got Chief Resident. I knew it was either her or Alex. Now everyone’s gonna hate her for being their boss! Alex probably would have got it if not for blowing the whistle on Mere.

And Derek’s mad so he went off to the new house (which is still in its basic framing stage...I mean come on already!!!!), and Meredith came home to an empty house with baby Zola. She’s a cute baby! And it was kinda funny watching Meredith dealing with taking care of a kid all by herself.

So we end with everyone is sorta split up...Derek is hiding out at his house, Owen kicked Christina out, and Alex moved out. Not sure how things will go next season. I don’t know if Christina will keep the baby...I’m sure she won’t if she’s not back with Owen. - Looking forward to seeing Meredith deal with being a mother. I hope she and Derek work it out. And they have Zola now! I hope they don’t drag it out too long next season. Especially if it’s the last season! There is talk of going on with the show without Meredith, Derek and possibly Alex and Christina....I really hope they don’t, cause while I love some of the others more than these 4, it wouldn’t feel right without them!

-Side Note 1: Love the “raaaahhhh” Henry says after Teddy’s boyfriend Andrew’s name. That was cute.
-Side Note 2:  Had to laugh at Sloan playing Angry Birds on his iPhone.
-Side note 3: Arizona barely said 2 words all ep...and Callie said like 1!

Private Practice:  Addison is in therapy – which...its about time after the stuff she’s been going through the last couple of years...finally giving Sheldon a break! And she’s sad again (you know because she’s wearing her YALE hoodie), and meets Benjamin Bratt in the supermarket, and flirts over pineapples...as you do. I think he could be good for Addison, he’s not attached to the practice – or married as far as we know...  Not loving Benjamin Bratt yet, not hating him yet either. –so maybe like everyone else I didn’t love for a while, he will be awesome. I mean I LOVE Amelia and I hated the idea of her!

Violet get’s her license suspended – fair enough I guess...they are coming after everyone else though...so they can either fight or flee and go their separate ways (which is NOT an option) and dissolve the practice. –Still not sure why discussing stuff between docs is so terrible...its not like they are blabbing to every guy on the street or blogging or something...but anyways...
Violet and Pete fighting was upsetting. Yes Violet was being selfish, but at the same time, she can’t do any doctoring, so she may as well go do some good on her book tour. But I understand Pete feeling like she’s running away and being worried that she won’t come back like last year. But she does tend to just do what she wants, without taking into consideration what he wants.

Naomi and Betsey are adorable –I’m really happy for Betsey, odds are Naomi’s not gonna die on her for a long time! I guess if she’s going she may as well be with Fife – as long as we don’t have to see him! Sam telling her to go with Fife was really nice. I liked that Sam and Naomi left it in a good place, and Naomi and Addison are best friends again. There were some good times back in the day.

Poor Charlotte, it was in some ways hard to watch her deal with that woman who was raped, because you knew Charlotte was reliving her experience too. -And then that woman not wanting to report it, or do a rape kit. But she found a way to push and get through to her, so it was nice to see that Charlotte can help people with her own experience (without writing a book or gushing like Violet).

In the one main medical case for the episode, Cooper, Pete and Sheldon decide that prolonging that poor girl’s life was a good option...but really it probably would have been better for that poor girl to just go, than to give her parents hope and then lose everything. Poor Coop (sorry, overusing the ‘poor’ again, but it seems necessary) he always takes it really hard when he can’t save his kids, and euthanizing patients is never an easy topic.

Amelia is drinking a lot again, dodging meetings, lying, AND doing surgery! Not a good mix...at least Charlotte pulled her hospital privileges, so she shouldn’t be able to hurt anyone other than herself. It’s good that Charlotte is looking out for her – Addison doesn’t seem to pay her much attention, probably cause she’s too messed up herself.

The airport stuff cracked me up! The outfit Addison was wearing, running into Violet, and then running into Naomi. I liked that Naomi and Addison got a nice goodbye. I did love that Fife didn’t get on the plane cause he knew she’d show up. –Smart ass! The proposing was nice! Her answering back with they were going to New York, and all her plans, was excellent though.
Addison makes the right choice to not go away for 2 weeks with a semi stranger...so many things wrong with that. But the whole going back to Sam thing really didn’t work for me. They are a terrible couple. Let it go, move on – they’re only going to break up again next season! I need to like Addison again. Remember season 1 Addison? She was awesome!

This was slightly better than Grey’s in that it didn’t feel like any old ep...I mean..come on that cliffhanger with poor poor Pete having a heart attack (or something) with only (not so) little Lucas around. No one really paid attention to him all ep, but he was complaining about feeling tired, legs like lead...
Somebody better find him! Either Violet will come back...or otherwise I don’t know who is gonna help him. The nanny? Cooper? Cause I’m pretty sure Lucas isn’t old enough to dial 911!

I’m a little sad about no more OWG – but I do like the idea of a newly organized practice. Its about time Addison did something with her 30 million dollar trust fund! –I’ve been saying that for years! But I wonder if they will keep the offices the same? Or reorganize. Sheldon and Pete still work downstairs, and it’s a full house upstairs.  –Wonder what they’ll call the new practice?

In terms of next season I guess we will be dealing with Pete! Plus new beginnings for the practice. I’m guess Benjamin Bratt’s character will turn out to be a medical investigator (convenient!) or maybe not. But I don’t know how he’ll figure into the mix otherwise. Amelia is headed for a major fall. Charlotte and Cooper should find a new place to live – and probably do some more kid talking –since they’ve spent a lot of this season talking about having kids. Sam needs to get a new life. Do something...that doesn’t involve Addison! And OMG give Sheldon a storyline! He barely said two words in the whole episode!!!! -He gets the award for most underused character this season!

-side note 1: Charlotte got an iphone?!...PPP never uses iphones!
-side note 2: Charlotte said AA meeting not NA...I’m so confused by this storyline. They are not alcoholics, they have problems with pain pills...Amelia’s drinking was only supposed to be a gateway to drugs...not the main problem, which it now apparently is...
side note 3: Charlotte and Addison were almost wearing the same dress in different colors in one of the group scenes...that amused me.
side note 4: Joshua Malina can act! It’s nice to see him given some decent material to work with once in a while!
side note 5: Nice call back to see Naomi eating chocolates. Her speaking around eating was hilarious (to me) I am going to miss her as part of the group.

Parks and Recreation: Well their 1 hour finale was really just 2 single episodes, which was kinda disappointing. The first episode had some good moments –like the balloons in Anne’s new office as part of her ‘welcome to City Hall’ party, and everyone being discovered because it was THAT full of balloons!
I like Leslie and Ben as a couple. I mean I could have taken or left it, but I’m definitely glad they got together by the end of the season! They are cute together, though not in a ‘They HAVE to be together!!!’ way.

The 2nd and finale ep, was not great for a finale. The whole Lil Sebastian funeral was entertaining enough, but nothing else really happened, except that Ron found out Ben and Leslie were dating. Oh and I guess the whole Leslie being up for a new position could lead to some interesting stuff next season...seeing as she didn’t disclose her relationship with Ben.  Also Tammy (Megan Mullally) showed up again...and looks like we’ll get to meet Ron’s first ex-wife next season! Dunno who it’s going to be, but it should be somebody awesome!

-Andy’s song about Lil Sebastian was really really catchy...I actually kinda loved it!
-Ron’s facial hair being burnt off was HILARIOUS!!!
-oh year...and Tom quit to work on his own company...boo hoo...odds are he’ll come back, but I kinda wish he wouldn’t.

I'll do a complete finale scorecard this weekend or next week when the main shows are all finished I think. So far none have been amazing...but I think leaving Pete lying on the floor is probably the most cliffhangery of all so far.

New Stuff - YAY!!!!

Finally caught up with all of last week's stuff, I was able to enjoy some new episodes of my shows this week!

I actually enjoyed this week’s episode of GLEE, despite hardly any Emma...they have really ruined her character/storyline. She used to be funnier too! I also liked it in spite of Jesse St. James. I did like the silly like about Jesse St. Jerk though. And he’s not annoying in a terrible way either I guess. I did find him entertaining – the judging stuff was silly, but kind of funny.

I loved the songs they did, well maybe not LOVE, but I really really liked them. I loved that they did ‘Pure Imagination’ from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love that song. The whole Sue’s sister storyline was okay, not great, but okay. Sue has really been destroyed as a character too.
I also found myself liking Terri...so maybe I’m just really off this week!

The auditions thing was kinda great and stupid at the same time! Firstly, it seems wrong that they are so unprepared one...count it people, one week away from Nationals. Seems like they should have been set and practicing by now! I did like the auditions though. I liked that the real competition fought it out. It was great to get to hear Mercedes sing – she never gets much of a shot on this show. Didn’t like Santana’s song – but that’s cause Amy Winehouse isn’t really my style. But I loved the other three. I love all the songs from Gypsy, but I didn’t remember that song from Funny Girl...but I liked it –Rachel does know how to really do a Barbara number!

Raising Hope ended their first season this week too. They did a cool little flashback that showed what Jimmy was like 5 years earlier. It was hilarious to see him in that weird-ass makeup and outfit! Little Sabrina was adorable with her braces, and Shelly and Mike made appearances too.
I’m so glad that they got picked up for season 2. I love this show.

Modern Family was good this week too. It was nice to have some quality Alex time. She never gets much to do. Jay having botox was kinda funny, but not as funny as Cam falling into the pool and running into the door!!!!! –But does that little girl(s) that play Lily ever smile?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them make an expression!

I’ve finally got around to catching up on The Good Wife this week. I watched 3 episodes tonight, and will watch this week’s season finale on the weekend. It was weird having Martha Plimpton’s character pop up again, but I do love her character. She’s a lot of fun. Then in the next ep I watched – Mamie Gummer (of Off The Map) made her 3rd appearance on The Good Wife. I adore her character. She’s so funny and really plays with the other characters. I hope they bring her back next season...seeing as she’s not busy anymore. –Still a little sore that Off The Map is not coming back next season, but I’m sure I’ll get over it. There’s a lot of new stuff to get into next season by the looks of things!!!

The finales of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Parks and Recreation are on tomorrow. Its gonna be sad to see them go, but hopefully not as traumatic as last year!

Penultimate Eps, Finales, and Randoms

Here is my thoughts on my tv viewing since Saturday. I’ve still got a few things left from last week to catch up on, but I wanted to share my thoughts so far.

Grey’s Anatomy - There was a lot of backstabbing and making tough choices in this ep. - April telling on Christina, Lucy taking Alex’s job in Africa, and Alex revealing what Meredith did.
Christina really is a problem...I want to like her, I want her to be doing the awesome heart surgery that she can do, but she keeps pushing away all her teachers and getting banned from surgeries. I’m getting sick of that. But I guess at least she won’t be Chief Resident! I’m guessing now that either April or Alex will be the choice.

Lucy HAD to go! So glad that Alex is not going to Africa, but it did suck that Lucy stole the job out from under him, especially when he was willing to turn it down cause he was interested in being with her. Poor Alex –no luck when it comes to relationships. But the way he just blurted out Meredith’s secret to was mean. Alex and Meredith always sort of had each other’s backs –both being messed up people, and pretty much brother and sister; but now he’s gone too far –he was drunk and hurting and told Hunt that Meredith switched the trial packets.

Meredith and Derek with the baby are so cute. I liked that even though it was all about the medicine, what she said to the social worker still proved that she was invested in Zola.
Sloan carrying around the baby all ep was both adorable and annoying...don’t these people do any doctoring anymore?! But Callie was back in the zone...till Sofia showed up. –But very cute baby, I’m just going to keep saying it!
It was so funny having that patient and his family mad at April. –April is so annoying - but not in a terrible way anymore.    And sorry, SO not caring about Teddy’s storyline. I don’t love that she spends more of the time outside the hospital these days, and I don’t love Scott Foley’s character. I don’t love the other guy either. I just really don’t care about Teddy’s love life. –But she can’t move to Germany...but then again, would I really notice if she was gone?!

Big finale week next week...no idea about what is happening, but after all the death and carnage (in both shows) last year, I’m hoping for no big deaths, and anticipating lots of professional carnage.

Private Practice - Poor Betsey. Shonda has really put that little girl through the works. But gotta give props to Hailey Sole for her acting chops, it can’t be easy to play Betsey’s storyline. Her saying that people die in that hospital was heartbreaking, and brought back all the stress from losing Dell last season. So cute when Cooper and Naomi walked in, but so sad when she was mad at Violet for not visiting. –Which is totally fair though. Poor Violet is mad that they all abandoned her, and that she couldn’t keep Betsey…but Naomi getting mad at them is just wrong! She wasn’t there!
That kid was scary…poor Betsey, and then to have the foster parents just abandon her…she can’t catch a break! While I didn’t really want any of them to take Betsey, I was glad that Naomi did- that part was really sweet, and the best option. I don’t think Violet and Pete are ready, and Charlotte and Cooper are not right for Betsey either…although I think there might be a kid in their not too far off future – maybe more kid talk next season.

The whole abortion storyline was pretty heavy too. It was rather graphic, in an educational way. I accept that Naomi has to represent her opinion but her talking to that girl was wrong – not to mention holding Olivia the whole time, I mean that’s just MEAN! Addison had her own issues, but put the patient and medicine first- power to her. It was kinda sad her talking about her baby with Sloan back in the day…and how ‘she’ would have been in school now. –BTW Addison has bad math…her kid would only be turning 5…not 6.

Sheldon playing with Olivia was too cute. But give him his own storyline already!!! –Also liked the line about if people get married, and no one witnesses it, did it actually happen. – a funny little dig.
Amelia is falling off the wagon…not sure about all that, Amelia’s drug problem seems to have become a big alcohol problem…I understand that it’s a gateway, but Amelia’s been drinking plenty in the earlier half of the season with no real issue. –Charlotte hugging her was just WEIRD…Charlotte not being at all a ‘huggy’ person, but I guess it’s a sign of how much Charlotte has softened and how close the two have become this season. But I didn’t like Amelia doubting herself and all shaky after Betsey’s surgery. And Speaking of drinking, has Little Miss Martini given up drinking now? I know she’s been going to meetings with Amelia after her ordeal, where she was at risk of relapsing...but its hard to imagine Charlotte never drinking her martinis ever again.

Not sure how they’re going to end the season…I have no idea where Naomi is going to go if she’s got Betsey, and isn’t going to DC with Fife. It can’t be as sad as last year, but knowing Shonda, its probably not going to be a happy hour of tv.

Glee - So I had to wait till I saw Ness to watch Glee (and everything else) this week. It sucked, I’ve never had to wait this long before! But it wasn’t too bad. It doesn’t have that ‘dying to watch it’ quality it used to. Because it is no longer awesome. But I did love the ep this week. I was a bit iffy about Prom, but I enjoyed the ep on a whole. I didn’t really love any of the songs though. – I did kinda like Dancing Queen; it’s about time they did some ABBA. –Brittany and Tina seem to have been reduced to back-up singers. I miss the days of less solos and duets, with more group songs with lines here and there. –When the wealth was shared around more.

Making Kurt Prom Queen was very interesting, and it worked. I really love having Kurt back where he belongs. Quinn’s dress was easily my fave – SO pretty! Rachel looked nice too. I loved Brittany’s tiny hat – see she’s ‘the hat girl’.
I didn’t love Jonathon Groff’s reappearance, I just don’t love him. But he didn’t take over so that was okay I suppose.

Raising Hope - Ness was nice enough to let me download it while I was at her place, so I didn’t have to wait till Tuesday to watch it. I enjoyed Jaime Pressly being in the ep. She and the husband were both in My Name is Earl which is by the same guy that does Raising Hope.
I LOVED Sabrina’s ad for the store…but the singing with baby Hope was weird. Shannon Woodward has a nice voice!

SNL - Tina Fey was awesome as usual! I also loved that Maya Rudolph and Darrell Hammond made an appearance, in fact Maya turned up in a few sketches!
I was a little disappointed that Tina didn’t make an appearance in Weekend Update, but that’s okay. –Gotta say this ep was very Vanessa Bayer heavy, which is a good thing.

Community - I think I liked last week’s half better with awesome Annie and the western/Tarantino motif (plus it had Josh Holloway of LOST), but the Star Wars theme was fun. The Annie/Abed thing weirded me out, she’s such a Greendale whore :P Best part – barely any CHANG! He didn’t say a word! Pierce saving the day was kinda awesome too!
Hilarious having Busy Philips and Dan Byrd from Cougar Town (on ABC) pop up. –Never thought I’d see a crossover with them on an NBC show!

In Plain Sight - BRADLEY!!!! (Whitford) I love that IPS is collecting West Wing people. Also I’m SO glad that he shaved the moustache he had in The Good Guys. He looked young again! But in his suits he really looked like Joshua Lyman :(   It was a pity that Joshua Malina was not in this ep either, would have been an extra special WW reunion.

Well that's all I've watched this week, Nurse Jackie and Parks and Recreation were good too, but didn't really need much discussion -  Although them all getting wasted on Snake Juice was pretty funny! -As was Chris reading out the signs about that woman!

Goodbye Brothers & Sisters

Here is my thoughts on the season 5 finale...Gotta admit I wasn’t looking forward to this ep that much. I was over weddings and don’t care about Sarah and Luc as a couple, but I kinda loved it!
Firstly, Paige and Cooper were actually there…together! I don’t think they’ve both been in the same ep all season! Secondly, Tommy!!!! I was so excited he came – I miss him!
While the whole wedding might win Weddingpalooza – I mean the ceremony was pretty, reception was awesome, everyone was happy….  But Sarah’s dress was not a winner…and that thing in her hair was weird. –I’m fussy.
The guys dancing was awesome! LOVED IT!!!!
Brody coming along to the wedding was cool – but he looked so out of place in his lame clothes...didn’t he have anything nicer in his van? And how did his daughter get invited anyways?!

So the show still hasn’t been renewed for next season, and if it isn’t, I can actually live with that as a series finale. They all were there – Sarah, Kitty, Tommy, Kevin, Justin, Paige, Cooper, Saul, Scotty – heck even Daniel and Evan were there! It had a nice wrapped up feel at the end – no silly cliffhangers or big stories to pick up next season. But at the same time, there are things they can go on with next season, such as Justin and Tyler, and Kitty and her baby.
(written Friday 13th May)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The day after I watched the finale, it was announced that Brothers & Sisters had been cancelled by ABC, and that it WAS the last episode of the series.
So there are a few loose ends that were not resolved – like Kitty and her baby...which was only introduced in the finale, so that was kinda annoying actually...but we’ll just pretend she has it.
I feel bad that Justin never really got his life together, but then again he has a proper job now, and there was potential with Tyler, so he’s a long way from season 1 Justin. We’ll just assume that Saul and Malcolm get married.  Introducing Brody’s daughter into the mix wasn’t fun, she was annoying and I am kinda glad we don’t have to see how these new siblings fit into the show – which was potentially what they were going to do in season 6. I also think it was right to end the series without having to lose main cast members. Having Calista missing for many eps this season was annoying, and I wouldn’t have liked to have had even less of her (or anyone else) in the next season.

So overall, I’m content with the series finale. I mean it’s a heck of a lot better than what Crossing Jordan, Las Vegas, Pushing Daisies etc left us with. Nothing left too unfinished, I mean how do you end a series about family anyways?! I’m a little sad that it won’t be coming back next year, but out of all my shows, I’m glad this is the one that isn’t coming back. I’m not heartbroken, it had a great run – 5 seasons is great, and the writers/creators did the right thing and gave it a proper ending as much as they could.
So thank you to all those involved in Brothers & Sisters for 5 great years of drama, comedy and wine.

I reserve the right to add more comments later on...but for now –Cheers to the best family in Pasadena!

Violet and the OWG ‘Patient Confidentiality’ issue

Okay so I guess this is gonna be an issue for the end of the season…and possibly into next season. But I have a few issues with this whole confidentiality thing. Firstly, I understand how they can see the stuff in Violet’s book as possibly being breach of confidentiality. I understand the logic there. I’m not saying it’s right, but I can see where they might be coming from. However this whole issue with the doctors discussing details of a co-opted patient within the practice bothers me. I mean…if multiple doctors are treating the same patient, then don’t they need to be aware of certain details or problems? Don’t doctors consult each other? I mean a lot of them send patients to Violet (or Sheldon) for help,  doesn’t that mean they are privy to certain aspects of their therapy?
Okay yes, perhaps Violet does blab to the others more than she should. But its not like they are publicizing their patient’s information all over the place! I mean Addison discusses her patients all the time…Its co-op medicine.

Maybe I can’t understand it or comprehend where these people are coming from, because I’m not in the medical field…but it seems a little like a witch hunt to me. They seem to want to make an example out of Violet and want to drag the whole OWG into it for good measure. But it still seems very wrong and illogical to me.
I guess we’ll see how things play out for Violet and the gang over the next few eps.

Last Week/This Week

So this is this week's discussion of last week's episodes of the following shows. I don't mind with most of them, that I don't watch them the same week they air, but I can't wait till the day I am not restricted in when I can watch things!

Brothers & Sisters: Firstly I hate that I’m a week behind, I had sorta become accustomed to being semi up to date with the bigger shows this season. But due to limited internet data, I saved room for Glee and Raising Hope instead.
Secondly, Tyler!!! I always liked her. Its kinda cool that they brought her back, even after all this time. -wonder if she'll stick around. It's cool that her and Justin are in such different places now as before, might be good for them!
The whole Brody thing is still annoying the heck out of me. I don’t even really know why it bothers me so much, but it does. I did LOVE the flashbacks to a young Nora! That girl did a great job of playing a young Sally Field!
And sorry Sarah…so sick of weddings, not caring at all….what are the odds that Paige and Cooper will even show up for the wedding?! Oh and yay for Kitty finally coming back!
Also Daniel is not in the running for cutest tv baby. He’s not that cute!

Moving onto In Plain Sight -Man I’ve missed this show! Its sorta an out of sight, out of mind kinda show. But now its back and I remember how awesome it is!
Top Moments-Marshall sitting in Mary’s newer car with his head sideways because he was too tall for it was hilarious! I love Marshall!
-Loved Mary’s I do not ‘heart’ new guys sign! See…awesome!
-Yay for plenty of Joshua Malina…and I like kinda-grown up Brandi!
-OMG. Mary is totally gonna shoot that new girl! Heck, I’d shoot her too! And Rachel Boston is back. I thought I’d lost her finally from my shows. She used to be everywhere for a year or so. Now she’s back again. Oh well, I’ll live. But she’s SO annoying!

Nurse Jackie is not as good as it used to be, but still entertaining.  But I got the weirdest déjà vu about that Kelly guy, and the conversation about his name. Did they do that in season 1 or something? Cause that’s how it felt…or it feels like a dream I might have had. Its freaking me out!
-Loved the conversation with the old couple about Jersey Boys the musical!!!
Still enjoying United States of Tara in it’s 3rd season. I do miss the credits though, I used to hate it, but it became likeable, and now I miss it. Figures! –I’m loving what they are doing this season with Tara and her contract between the alters!

Well I won't be watching much of anything this week...might be able to get Brothers & Sisters by the end of the week, but not Glee or Raising Hope :(  -I'm also really far behind with The Good Wife.
I've got some SNL to watch this week at least...oh yeah and last week's Modern Family.

Weddingpalooza in Shondaland!

3 Weddings in 2 hours! Crazy!!!

Grey’s Anatomy - 2 Weddings, no waiting! I LOVE that Meredith and Derek finally made it legal. That’s all I wanted! They were not big ceremony people and that’s cool with me…I don’t know how much of a big ceremony girl I am myself!

A couple of random notes: Baby Sofia is really really really cute! Watch your back Lucas – this baby girl is after your cutest tv baby title! Baby Zola is also SOO cute! Who knew that Derek was cute with babies! Who KNEW?!
Also I think my blondes are finally getting back to actual blonde! Arizona’s hair was looking blonder than previous eps! YAY!

I can’t believe how much the parents suck in these eps. I mean Callie’s dad has had his bad moments in the past, but he’s turned good now! –Which I’m glad about , cause it’s really hard to hate Hector Elizondo! He’s adorable! I’d want him to be my dad/grandfather/uncle! But Callie’s Mum is no fun. Arizona’s dad having issues with Mark is understandable, and entertaining. Arizona’s parents are cool though! Her mum is adorable!

I liked Arizona’s dress. Callie’s was WEIRD! –I did not like the sleeves. But Charlotte definitely wins best dress overall.

And I loved the pink with the fairy lights at the reception! I’m a sucker for fairy lights! But I did not like the big pink and white streamers and flowers of the ceremony. It was too much!

-I’m a little mad at Meredith and Derek not making an appearance at Callie’s wedding….that was kinda rude...they could go to city hall anytime! –Liked Meredith’s dress though, she should have worn it to her wedding!

Private Practice - FINALLY! This is what I’ve been waiting for all season! But Charlotte and Cooper totally got their thunder stolen by the Grey’s couples…but it still fantastic!

Charlotte’s terrible asking of Amelia to be her Maid of Honor because they are Junkie BFF’s was hilarious! Kinda old school Charlotte, I liked it! I LOVE Amelia and Charlotte scenes!
Amelia’s pouty face about the parental situation was toooooooo cute! Amelia totally rocks! Yay to her for standing up for Charlotte to Cooper's parents...even if it did backfire. -also...I hope that there are decent Caterina bloopers this season...she seems like she'd have good bloopers!

Stupid Dr Fife…go away!!!!!!! I hated him last season…why did he come back?!
Yay Sam and Addison are broken up. Maybe now they can move on with their lives. They don’t want the same things and that never works. Plus…I used to love Sam as a character. But Addison kinda ruined him.
-I do love that Sam has a pre dinner breakfast! That’s the Sam I know and love!

Aww. The scene with all the parents was crazy! I loved the expressions on Violet, Cooper and Charlotte’s faces…awkward!!!! Poor Charlotte, Cooper’s parents like Violet better. They had no reason to not give her a chance. I’m a little disappointed in Cooper’s parents I must say. He always says how nice they were, and it was sad to find out that they were not happy with Charlotte! They were really rude!

Charlotte’s mother was pretty much what I expected, which suppose is a good thing. I can’t believe her Momma wanted her to wear the family dress again! That’s crazy…it was a funny old dress, but you can’t wear a wedding dress more than once! That’s just SO wrong! I LOVED Charlotte’s wedding dress.

The parents conspiring against Charlotte and Cooper as a group was just SO sad! Especially cause they got a second of hope that they were getting along. Stupid parents, they ruin everything!

I LOVE that they ended up running off to Vegas, loved all the people looking at them on the plane. They were very cute! But at least their parents showed up to the wedding…gotta give them points for that.
But I’m glad Cooper and Charlotte got to be happy at their own wedding. No one should have to deal with the pressure of people not wanting you to be together on your wedding day! Especially if its your own parents!

Biggest issue of the ep: Where were Charlotte’s brothers?! They go on about them enough, and had them in season 2 when she went home to Alabama….they could have at least made an appearance and sat next to the mother at the wedding! That just seemed really strange and poorly handled by the writers. Could have at least mentioned them. Oh well. They all suck anyways!

In other stories, poor Violet! I’m really interested to see where this confidentiality storyline takes the practice. But it was so sad when she wouldn’t come to Cooper’s dinner. –And why would Charlotte invite Fife?! Ewww.

When did Pete become the sorta father figure of the practice? He’s always there when someone’s in trouble, or heading for it. He notices things. I like it. I like Pete. Amelia drinking the champagne seems like its heading for trouble! The last two eps of this season are gonna be full on!
