So in the past few months I have given up a few tv shows.
I watched a few eps of The New Girl before deciding I wasn't paying attention and so I stopped downloading it for a while and never missed it.
The same goes for Revenge. After the new year, I just never felt like watching the ep I had...and didn't really find myself liking it. Don't miss that one either.
I have been watching ER from the beginning this year. I'm currently up to season 3. So it'll take me a while to get up to season 15. But I loved that show. Its fun to go back to George Clooney when he was younger and a little less serious.
But I keep getting into trouble watching eps on the same night as The Good Wife...Julianna Margulies from 1996 to 2013...bit of a age difference. At least the different hair helps.
Ness and I are currently watching Season 5 of LOST. We keep dragging it out, so that sucks, cause there is good stuff in season 5. I loved Sawyer and Juliet. But I'm glad we're dragging out the end of season 5....cause Juliet's death will make me cry again. -tooooooo sad!
As long as we finish season 5 before Revolution starts back again at the end of March...cause I can't deal with too much Elizabeth Mitchell...it will confuse me. -Cause I'll be up to eps of ER by then at this rate!
Speaking of confusing me, Once Upon A Time last week could have been called The LOST episode. Jorge Garcia, Alan Dale and Emilie DeRavin were all featured. There were references to a mysterious island, and to Ajira Airlines (which is the one the gang used to get back to the island in season 5)....I mean COME ON!
30Rock finished up the other week. The end was really good, some nice sentimental stuff, and a bit of fun. The end was a little weird though, there wasn't any Liz and Jenna stuff. But the Liz and Jack stuff was good.
Community finally came back. Its not my fave show, but its still good fun to watch.
Haven't given up on Glee yet either actually....guess I still kinda enjoy it. I just wish Rachel was less annoying. She's getting too big for her britches!
More to come.

Disapointing
Well overall I gotta say that TV was pretty lame and crappy last week.
The Good Wife was one of the light sparks though. I loved Will on trial, and how it brought out his and Alicia's relationship out into the open. I loved Cary and the other 'bad guys' getting so close, and then having the jury turn on them. Awesome! I also liked the stuff with Eli and David's niece, and also I like that she isn't a total dummy.
Once Upon A Time is still good, but starting to lose me a little, in the way LOST went on too much about people's pasts (which in LOST turned out not to matter for a single thing in the end), and also doesn't seem to go on about the stories I want to know about. Much like LOST, it never seems to address any of my questions. I am intrigued by this new guy who stole Henry's book though...and if only they'd give Ginnifer Goodwin something to do except pine.
Raising Hope was good, but the betting thing got a bit annoying by the end of the episode. Little Hope dressed up as Hilary Clinton was great though!
New Girl is getting more interesting. Maybe its something to do with adding more girls into it...But I just don't LOVE it the way everyone else seems to...maybe I'm missing something? Who knows?!
Glee wasn't great this week. I am not a huge Michael Jackson fan...so the music side didn't win me over much. I liked the story parts better...which the exception of the 'rumble' with the Dalton boys....sooooo boring. I liked Rachel's breakdown when she was forced to deal with the fact that her musical career might not be golden....even though we all know it will be. It was nice to see that addressed, because we ARE rooting for Rachel, she is talented and deserves to go far, and it was sad when she thought she might not. I still find it very far fectched that Quinn got into YALE....but TV has proved that when it comes to College, anything is possible :P
-oh yeah...anyone remember Irish kid?! Where did he go? And bring Idina back!!!
Thursday's TV was interesting. P-Rex did an early Valentine's Day ep, which was adorable, and had plenty of Ann which I loved....the fact that she ended up on a date with Tom at the end I did NOT love... But again...how cute are Ben and Leslie?!
Up All Night was pretty average. Maybe it was because I was very out of it while I was watching it, but I was bored....not sure if this show make it.
30 Rock was also kinda boring...sometimes I don't even know if I REALLY like this show. I like bits of it, but lately it hasn't been winning me over as much.
Grey's was kinda cool this week. I couldn't stop laughing at everyone's wigs and stuff....Pink Meredith was so bright and shiny it was weird...but not as weird as her being called 'Dr Webber'....couldn't wrap my head around that one....Alex might have been my fave...soooo dorky! Everyone else was mixed up and changed slightly....poor Bailey...I love the link between Ellis not being around, and Bailey's confidence and kickass attitude...or lack there of. Druggie Lexie was cool...(or not) -I did NOT like the grey scrubs...they were hideodious!
I thought it was a bit harsh saying that Izzie went crazy and shot up the place!...but then maybe alternate Izzie was a BITCH! Poor George, at least he wasn't dead, just failed his intern exam.
Overall the premise started out good, but by the end everyone sorta became who they would have anyways...Addison still ended up with Mark's baby...poor 'real world' Addy...maybe she should try having a baby with Mark again :P; Meredith ended up at bar with Derek, Alex was a douche who was crappy at relationships....btw how weird were he and Mere as a couple?! Lexie's mum was still dead, but Charles wasn't...and all these weird things that by the end kinda cheapened it. But it was great for a laugh...and also the use of retro grey's music was an awesome touch! -Also nooo Teddy...she was mentioned though...but I expected her to turn up by the end....I mean everyone else did.
Anyways, it was a fun ep of tv, and still way better that almost anything else on tv this week. Grey's you are winning my heart back again!!!!
Private Practice was perhaps one of the most boring eps of the series in a while....I'm sorry, but I LOVED this show last year, and the seasons before that...but this year is just not doing it for me. Every funny and outspoken character has been knocked down and 'evolved' into feeling, nice people. Charlotte has become SO boring...I love her, but she was awesome because she was outspoken, feisty and fun....and now she's just playing mummy to Mason. Amelia is the same, she used to be fun, but now she's so sulky and staying out of peoples way, that I REALLY miss her non-existent ability to filter. Violet and Pete drive me crazy, I liked them as a couple, but now all they do is fight...and I don't care...especially cause their arguments are nonsensical....Pete has become a complete tool, and hypocrite. I also don't care for Violet and her new beau...except for the fact that he was the only one to suggest she move! Addison wins best character in this weeks ep, mostly for the line "Is it because you've seen my vagina in a medical way?". It was golden. -Also drunk people are funny!

Slightly Quieter Times
So the last 2 weeks there hasn't been a lot on tv, with Thanksgiving shaking up programming, and things wrapping up for the holidays.
There is some good news, Bones is back and its awesome! The Booth and Brennan baby thing was a little weird to get used to at first, but that's fine now.
Rizzoli and Isles came back for the rest of the 2nd season, and so far it rocks! -Not that it wouldn't...I don't think there are too many BAD eps of that show. Sasha and Angie are too funny.
Katie Finneran and Jaime Pressley's show sadly is not great...its verging on not even good....I think the main problems are, A) they don't know what kind of audience they are aiming for... B) the writing needs work, C) I don't know how likeable the characters are....it doesn't feel like we really know them, which might make the two leads more accessible. -I admit there have been a few things that had me cracking up....and no I don't just mean Katie's expressions and voices....
Maybe there is still hope, there have only been 2 eps...who knows. But I'll keep watching as long as it is going...cause I'm loyal.
Still loving Suburgatory. But I swear they better handle this whole Dallas/George thing properly....it seems like they are really going to push for them to become a couple...but Dallas is married, so the writers are gonna have to do something before they can try to make them a couple....cause you can't just make George a homewreaker.
....Also, where's Ana?! I thought she was becoming a regular....and yet she's hardly been in the last few eps.
Up All Night is still good. Seems to be sharing the comedy -which is great. And those little girls that play Amy are adorable!
Parks and Rec just keeps making me happier and giddy like a school girl with all the Ben and Leslie stuff...its SO heartwarming! Still bummed about a severe lack of Ann...an entire Ann centric ep anyone?!
Community is still so so....but I'm bummed about it getting cut short this season. -not nice NBC!
Glee went from okay, to pretty good this week. I gotta say I really enjoy Sectionals without Rachel....allowed the others to shine...especially Quinn and Tina who NEVER get to sing anymore. -However I HATED their outfits. I loved the song at the end - very season 1, with lots of people getting a part. And yay...Quinn grew up....finally....but it was very sudden. And of course New Directions was going to win, and of course the girls were going to come back. -I could have done without Sam coming back. Didn't work for me...also nobody seemed to care that he didn't actually attend the school anymore?! Does this competition even have rules?! Oh well. Looking forward to a proper Rachel solo in the not too far off future hopefully.
Once Upon is still going strong. And Pan Am is still awesome...yay for Dean and Collette!!!! - But I have a feeling that show might not be long for this world....boo. Revenge is not as good anymore, but I'm not giving up on it just yet.
I finally got caught up on Unforgettable. I'm really enjoying it, unfortunately its the last show on my list, cause I don't need to watch it right away - but I still enjoy it when I can find the time.
Ringer is starting to do my head in....but its still good.
Maybe over the break I'll get around to catching up on some of the other shows. But I'll probably just watch more old SNL and hopefully all the dvds I've bought lately, that are still sitting there unwatched!

Back to Normal...Almost
So last week was a super slow TV week. Hardly anything was on, Parenthood was on, but hardly had any Lauren Graham, which made me sad.
This week most things are back, but some shows will not be returning till next year. Boo :(
I was excited to have Once Upon a Time back. I just LOVE that show, more for seeing what they do with the fairytales, than the actual characters, but its all good.
Parenthood was good this week. I found myself actually feeling bad for Haddie....which is odd, since I don't like her much, but she deserved sympathy in this week's ep. I don't know why, but I found the scenes with Sarah and baby Nora odd....not bad, just weird. Found myself not caring much about the Crosby storyline...so nothing different there....
Yay for Kristina going back to work, and getting something else to do.
Glee overall was good. The Puck and Shelby stuff still weirds me out....and Idina's song wasn't great this week...which was a pity, cause I actually liked all the other songs. Yay for The Beast! I liked her storyline...also cause it gave Emma a bit more to do....Emma really needs more going on.
Raising Hope was back on track this week. I enjoyed it muchly. The New Girl, however, is losing me more and more...yet I feel I can't quit it....and I don't know why.
Good stuff coming up later in the week. Can't wait for Katie Finneran's new show tomorrow!

Tuesday Gold
So I wasn't expecting anything from Glee this season, but I have to admit I loved this weeks ep! I'd say the fact that Idina was all over it AND sang might play part in that. I enjoyed the songs too. But made me miss Rock of Ages more. I liked the stuff with Santana, and even the Rachel stuff. I just wish every ep could be good, instead of so hit and miss.
Parenthood was awesome! I loved the stuff with Sydney. So funny! The stuff with Max and those boys was sad, but funny when Kristina told them off.
And yay for more Drew stuff! I saw the Adam and that girl thing coming mile away, and didn't like it.
Raising Hope was great too. I like when Sabrina gets more to do. She cracks me up. I still don't think it's as good as last season, but this ep was much closer to it.
Even The New Girl was kinda good this week. It's still not great, but it had a few good moments this week....even if Justin Long's character was a little weird, but it was still funny.
Haven't watched anything tonight, since I had other plans, but I'll try and catch up tomorrow as much as I can. Gotta get through all the Thursday stuff too. Can't wait for 2 hour PPP...even if it is all we get till next year. :(

On a High Note
So overall I enjoyed this weeks tv muchly....except for Glee. -Okay it wasn't terrible, there were some good bits. I did like that Emma and Beast had some storylines. I liked that Mr Schue was barely in it. I also liked the intergration of the West Side Story music into the rest of the plot - it was pretty much a West Side Story ep, but much less IN YOUR FACE. I missed Idina. -But it worries me just how few characters I even like anymore. I don't really like any of the kids...cept for Kurt. Rachel, while annoying, is actually consistent...and less in your face this season.
Parenthood was sooo good this week...the stuff with Seth and Amber made me cry! Poor Amber. I knew Seth was going to be trouble...oh Sarah...
As far as the other storylines...I'm pretty bored with the Crosby and Jasmine stuff...Dr Joe annoys me. The Kristina stuff was ok, the new secretary was an old story though. BORING.
I liked Zeke having 'The Fever'...but he should just let Adam have it...he does it MUCH better.
I'm officially all caught up with Ringer. I've actually come to really enjoy it. It just gets twistier and twistier. I am liking that Juliet girl...she's interesting.
ALL the Thursday tv was good. Parks and Rec was hilarious, yet all the Leslie and Ben stuff still made me sad. -I did love the ref to Mighty Ducks 2 by Andy. Oh and I LOVED that Ann got to do more this week!
Community's weird musical thing was weird, but good. And I couldn't help "awwing" for the little puppet show Abed and Troy put on for Annie.
Bones was good. Lots of good Booth and Brennan stuff. New Squintern is interesting...the stuff with Hodgins was both funny, and weird...and kinda mean. -The snake was kinda cool too...
Grey's was awesome! Sadly that's the last ep for this year :( But what an ep. Poor Henry....he was a gonna from the start. And poor Teddy, they shouldn't have lied to her, but it was necessary for the sake of her patient. I didn't quite get the whole Ambulance breaking down thing...and it didn't explode like they said it would....but for a few seconds there it was scary! Poor Mer and Der...they need baby Zola back.
Private Practice was good this week. Finally a good Charlotte ep -I realise that whethe or not there is good Charlotte stuff is not the same as A good ep, but there WAS good Charlotte stuff in addition to other good stuff. I liked that Charlotte got to do fun stuff -like making fun of the cupcakes and playing wii tennis with Mason, in addition to the trying to stop Amelia from taking prescription pads. -Which speaking of...I gotta mention that when Amelia started pushing Charlotte....I found myself wondering who would win in a fight between those two...I can't decide.
They were right, this ep WAS funny. I loved Sheldon and the cupcakes. I loved the codeword 'tacos' when discussing Amelia in front of Mason. I loved the end with Char and Coop playing with Mason - always said Charlotte would be better with an older kid...-Violet's the only one who hasn't met him...which seems odd...
And its official, Char and Coop need a house. Or at least a bigger apartment. Mason can't sleep on the couch all the time when he visits.
Poor Amelia...oh and yay for Addison finally stepping in! -The stuff with Amelia's story is soooo sad, and when she moved from pills onto the hard stuff....ugh, it hurt. -Can't wait for next week's 2 hour double ep! -PPP has never done a 2 hour ep before. -Caterina Scorsone is rocking it this season!
-oh and points for referencing Violet and Cooper's fave show American Bakeoff!

The TV Has Returned!
So all the FOX shows were back this week, as was Parenthood.
Tuesday night saw a good ep of Parenthood, but I am SO over Jasmine. She needs to go or get back with Crosby.
Poor crazy Kristina, it's not too much to ask for a little bit of family time is it?
Still loving the adorableness that is Mark and Sarah. Pity it's not going to last.
Enjoyed Raising Hope, but I still don't know if it's up to the quality of last yeah. A least Shelly was back in it this week. There is not enough Sabrina either.
Still on the fence with The New Girl. I liked this ep better, but it's still not great.
Glee was also not great this week. The songs were meh and the stories were annoying. Yay for Idina, but that thing with Shelby and Puck was semi icky.
Liked Revenge this week, having the real Emily Thorne turn up was interesting. Looking forward to where that goes. Also, Declan is annoying and stupid.
Modern Family, Up All Night and Suburgatory were ok, but not great. - Community also sucked.
Parks and Rec was good, yay for Ann (all 5 seconds of her) - and Ann and Leslie at that! But the stuff with Leslie and Ben just makes me sad. Which is odd for a comedy. But they are just too cute together.
Bones is back baby! Plenty of cute stuff, especially the scene with Angela, Hodgins, Cam and the baby. Adorable! Booth and Bones as a couple is weird, but good. I'll adjust.
Grey's was good this week, I really enjoyed the Heart in a Box/Magic 8 Ball thing, it made for good Christina stuff. The whole Mrs O'Malley turning up was kinda strange, but good. I liked the reminiscing about George -which doesn't happen a lot when characters die/leave. -Points for mentioning Izzie once. Mark and Jackson's Bromance is too funny. I am really enjoying the Mark stuff lately, he's more interesting when he has no life.
PPP was good, but weird. It worries me when Addison is leading the comedy and light hearted storylines. Amelia had entertaining stuff...including waking up the stranger in her bed. But the rest of it was a downer. Charlotte's flashbacks to the origin of her pill problem was kinda strange, and not just because of the REALLY bad dark wig they had on her. Anyone remember when Charlotte was fun? I miss building a bathroom Charlotte, and dress up in crazy outfits Charlotte. -And can Addison even acknowledge Amelia already?! Speaking of....the whole Sam helping pick out the sperm donor is just wrong on SO many levels. Sorry Sam, you gotta go!
And that concludes last week's tv. Tomorrow will bring a whole new lot of awesomeness and probably some crappiness too.

Glee - Good or Bad?
3 Episodes into the 3rd season, and I still have no idea whether I still like this show or not!
Things I Like:
Things I Don't Like:
Well I guess time will tell as to whether the show is still worth watching. But for now, I cannot quit...not while Idina is around anyways.- Damn my dedication!

Things I Like:
- Plenty of Emma! Including character development!
- Less Rachel. I enjoyed the quote from Mercedes about it being the Rachel Berry show! I'm so sick of her, so I'm enjoying having songs and stories about the others.
- Idina being back. Although she was kinda wasted in the last ep.
- I like that they are starting to bring back the group songs, with lines for almost everyone! - That's part of what I loved about season 1. Group songs are better than solo after solo.
Things I Don't Like:
- Quinn's new 'tude...BORING!
- Sue....she may as well be gone...they ruined her character too early, and now she's just annoying when she's being evil...ish
- Too much Britney...sorry but I miss the days when she was just quirky and didn't sing so much...they autotune her and it sounds awfully fake.
Well I guess time will tell as to whether the show is still worth watching. But for now, I cannot quit...not while Idina is around anyways.- Damn my dedication!

Thursday Nights Are Alright!
So I'm so happy to have my Thursday (Friday, Aussie time) night tv back! Grey's Anatomy's 2 hour season premiere was awesome. So Meredith went crazy...and hid the very very super adorable baby Zola when the social worker was onto the fact that Meredith and Derek were separated. Alex helped...and seems to have sorta smoothed things over with the gang. Oh and there was a giant hole in the ground! That was cool.
Community is still weird, but likeable. There's always something that's entertaining about it. -And so far there is plenty of Annie, which I like! Last week's ep with Britta in the cage was HI-larious! I couldn't stop laughing!
Having been watching seasons 1 and 2 of Parks and Recreation on dvd over the break, I was a little unsure how how things ended last season...but I quickly got back up to speed. The scenes with Ben and Leslie were toooo cute....I really like them as a couple! I hope they don't keep them apart!
Private Practice was back last week. FINALLY! I was going crazy...luckily I had season 4 to keep me sane. I finished the last ep before watching the first ep of season 5 -which I LOVED by the way! Charlotte was being very cute...she found the funny again! Amelia cracks me up, even when she's drunk and bleeding! Awesome! I liked the refs to the last 2 season finales with death and tragedy for the gang...and it was refreshing for Addison to not be responsible for saving any lives for once! She just got to hang with the cutest little boy on tv Lucas. -I totally have a baby crush on him! Poor Cooper...bad doctoring Sam...look around before yelling CLEAR! Oh yeah and Pete is okay...but we knew that'd work out.
-So overall I didn't miss Naomi at all....which is a little sad. Benjamin Bratt's character turned up right at the end....and I gotta say, I'm not on board with him yet. Especially since he's jumping into the middle of the credits, between Tim and Paul, in my book that's not so cool, to get higher billing than characters that have been there 4 seasons already! But maybe Shonda will make me love him! Who knows, but so far season 5 is off to a great start!
In other non-Thursday night tv news - I gotta talk about the Weeds finale....cause ooooo that was an awesome way to end it. It works as a series finale, or as a season finale....its about time someone tried to blow away Nancy. She's getting to big for her boots!
Oh and also....The Big C finale! I sorta saw the end coming, but when it clicked right at the end...I burst into tears! It was so sad. Enough with the ultra sad season finales!!!!
Ep 2 of The New Girl wasn't much better...I hate to admit that I don't think I'll be able to love that show. I do love Free Agents - which means it'll get the axe...but its not THAT good, that I would be overly upset. Up All Night was better last week too! But way too many SNL people for 1 ep!
Modern Family is a bit bleh these days. Its lost something....
I watched the first ep of Suburgatory - its not terrible, and could be good. We'll see.
I also thought the season premiere of SNL with Alec Baldwin wasn't THAT great, and wasn't that funny overall.
Idina Menzel was back in Glee last week - that was awesome, but I'm still not sure about Glee as a whole. It could go either way at this point.
And lastly, I got a major kick out of all the short jokes in last week's ep of Raising Hope! I do love that show to pieces!

TV IS BACK!!!!
Some of the shows started up last week, and some started this week...and some don't start till next week, but its all coming back now and I'm feeling good.
Parenthood started back last week...and there were some HILARIOUS dancing scenes. They brought back Adam and 'the fever'. They've also brought back Jason Ritter, who I just love, and him and Lauren have really good chemistry!
Yesterday I watched new Glee and Raising Hope (and Parenthood and The Big C) on my fancy new WD TV live media player...which is SO awesome. Got it last weekend, and it plays everything...even the stuff I download off youtube! It'd be fun to watch Puppy Love on the big screen!
I was worried about Raising Hope being less good now that Hope was growing up...but she's still pretty cute. The ep wasn't great, but still good, and I bet will get better.
I'm not sure what to make of Glee. I was prepared to hate it. But I was impressed with all the Emma...which I'm taking to mean - that's all we get for the whole season. Rachel is still kinda annoying, but overall I didn't HATE it. The songs were kinda cool, and there may be hope yet. I dunno...I won't call it quits just yet - Idina Menzel will be back in it next week, so I have NO CHOICE but to keep watching for now anyways.
Modern Family started out okay, the holiday to Wyoming was weird, but entertaining. New grown up Lily is both cute and freaky at the same time...which worries me. But at least she has expressions! We'll see how things go.
Then there are the new shows.
The New Girl - Not sure about it. I love Zooey, but her character seems like she could get annoying on a weekly basis. But I'll keep watching.
Up All Night - I loved the pilot. Ep 2 was not as good, but there were plenty of laughs to be had still. Maya Rudolph is AWESOME! (duh!)
Free Agents - I know I should kinda hate it, but I LOVE it. It makes me laugh. Kathryn Hahn is hilarious! The others are pretty funny. Hank Azaria is great too! Anthony Stewart Head weirds me out though.
Tomorrow sees the return of P-Rex, Community and Grey's Anatomy with a 2 hour premeire...so no PPP till next week, but I'll cope. -Season 4 arrived today!

Emmys 2011 Verdict
Well I wasn't that excited for this years Emmys I must say. I wasn't sure about Jane Lynch hosting....but she was actually pretty good...and WAY better than the last time FOX hosted them - anybody remember that round stage with the people sitting ON the stage itself? TERRIBLE! But I would have rathered had Jimmy again.
My fave fave fave part was the Lead Actress in a Comedy pageant! When Amy Poehler rushed up on stage, I almost died of laughter! And then when the rest of them got up...it was just pure awesomeness! I would have loved any of them to win...I am SO glad that Melissa McCarthy (or Sookie St James as she will always be to me) won....I love her, even though I don't watch her show....but I kinda wanted Amy Poehler to have her turn! Maybe some day she will win. I also was rooting for Martha Plimpton, but she'll get more chances...just look at Kristin Chenoweth!!!
-Also I totally vote that those 6 ladies host next year's Emmy's. They'd be unstoppable!
I feel bad for the people in the categories with Maggie Smith and Martin Scorsese...your odds are pretty damm slim!
I was also excited to have such a large SNL presence at the emmys. Kristen, Seth, Andy and Lonely Island, Lorne, Jimmy, Amy and Tina....its weird seeing Seth out and about now...and getting interviewed on the red carpet.
While I have been grizzling about the PPP and Parenthood not being recognized this year - when they really really deserved to be, I did give them points for at least including them in their drama show clips - PPP especially, cause it never gets as much attention.
As for the Red Carpet - I wasn't stunned by any of the dresses particularly...nobody really stood out this year.
My faves are all just people I thought looked really nice. Aubrey Plaza looked really pretty all dressed up...she cleans up nice when she's not April. Jayma Mays looked really nice too. I even thought Amy Poehler looked good in her blue number...or maybe there's something wrong with me. -Oh and I was disappointed in Dianna Agron this year, she's normally one I LOVE for fashion, but she still looked nice.
The interviews all sucked too, except for every Amy Poehler and Will Arnet one! Those two should have a talk show someday...or you know...host an awards show.
So overall....yay for the Modern Family awards! yay for Julie and Ty...I loved that Phil and Claire got awards...and that the show won. Yay for Mad Men...but maybe next year a different show will win, starting to get sick of those two hogging all the awards!
That is all.

2011 Season Finale Scorecard
Overall I must say nothing was fantastically awesome. There were no HUGE cliffhangers, no screaming at my computer/tv, no rivers of tears, no big deaths or accidents. It was a rather relaxing, almost boring finale season.
I’ve decided to do a little summary of the finales, and rate them on a 1-10 scale - 1 being lame for a season finale (but not necessarily as an ep) and 10 being absolute awesomeness.
These are my shows...in no particular order....
I’ve decided to do a little summary of the finales, and rate them on a 1-10 scale - 1 being lame for a season finale (but not necessarily as an ep) and 10 being absolute awesomeness.
These are my shows...in no particular order....
Parenthood – After a big cliffhanger in the pen-ultimate season 2 ep with Amber in the car accident, we spent the finale dealing with Sarah and Amber’s relationship, and wrapping up a few storylines like Jasmine and Crosby. Heading into season 3, we have Joel and Julia wanting to adopt, and a huge bomb drop (that I saw coming for a good deal of the finale), Kristina is pregnant...so that’s gonna get interesting!
Season Finale Rating: 7/10
Season Rating Overall: 8/10 –just as good, if not better than the first season.
Season Finale Rating: 7/10
Season Rating Overall: 8/10 –just as good, if not better than the first season.
Hopes for next season: I hope to see Sarah continue to grow professionally. I hope Amber takes some of what happened to her and moves on in a good direction. –If she is serious about some sort of study, I’d like to see her take classes at community college or something.
30 Rock – TGS is winding down for summer. Liz heads out to the Hamptons for her summer break Tracy’s there to ruin it all. Not a whole lot else happened. Jack turned Kenneth into his wife.... I did like that scene at the end where they all end up in the same place in Central Park. Overall it was lame, boring and not even that funny. But it did have some good guest stars.
Season Finale Rating: 4/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 – Much more interesting and funnier than last season.
Season Finale Rating: 4/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 – Much more interesting and funnier than last season.
Hopes for next season: Well you never know where they are going to take this show, but I’d like to see Liz find her way a little more...especially if it ends up being the final season.
Raising Hope – The finale was not my fave ep this season, but it was still good. We flashed back 5 years to an 18yold Jimmy, with a very different look on life. We saw glimpses into the pasts of our other characters too, from Hope’s mother, to a geeky Sabrina who turns out had a crush on Jimmy and never knew it was Jimmy because of the costume! – So I’m looking forward to see where they take these 2 next season. I want them to get together, but at the same time...it’s fun watching him being absolutely hopeless.
Season Finale Rating: 6.5/10
Season Finale Rating: 6.5/10
Hopes for next season: I hope they this show stays strong in its second season, some shows don’t. I’d like to see Sabrina and Jimmy together...but then it might ruin it, so maybe not. I also hope they bring Shelley back – I like the singing!
Community – I liked the first part of the 2 part finale better, but the 2nd half and actual final episode of season 2 was excellent. Paintball continued - changing themes to Star Wars and the gang were able to score the win for Greendale with Pierce saving the day. Best part was that Chang didn’t speak in the ep! No idea where we are headed next season, but I’ve learned to expect everything and nothing from Community!
Season Finale Rating: 8/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Still strong this season, although some eps really sucked, but the great ones made up for them.
Season Finale Rating: 8/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Still strong this season, although some eps really sucked, but the great ones made up for them.
Hopes for next season: My only wish for this show is that it can keep up the good episodes, and limit the bad or boring. I also hope for less Chang – but I doubt that’ll happen. Bring back Troy and Abed in the morning – that was great, or at least other stuff with Troy and Abed.
Parks and Recreation – Not a fantastic finale, but entertaining enough. Comedy shows these days don’t seem to do anything huge for finales –or maybe it is just that they don’t know they if they are coming back next season. I liked the final ep of season 3. The Lil Sebastian funeral was weird and funny. I liked the lead in for a potential new job for Leslie and also the introduction of Ron’s first wife who I’m very much looking forward to see who is going to play her.
Season Finale Rating: 7/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Not as strong as season 2, still strong though - just needs to figure out how to keep Chris interesting.
Season Finale Rating: 7/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Not as strong as season 2, still strong though - just needs to figure out how to keep Chris interesting.
Hopes for next season: I hope they do something more interesting with Rob Lowe’s character...he’s not my fave, and tends to get boring at times. Maybe get Chris and Anne back together. I also hope that Leslie and Ben don’t get annoying. I think they are cute, but in a show like this it could get really annoying really quickly!
Grey’s Anatomy – Overall kind of boring. Last season was awesome, but huge and not possible to top, so I wasn’t expecting that much. They announced that April was Chief Resident, and Teddy and that guy (Scott Foley) became an actual couple – not that I cared one inch about that storyline...I thought they’d kill him or something. Oh yeah, and BIG news - Christina is pregnant, and she's not interested in having kids! And they split up the main couples, so I guess we’ll see if they get come back together, or split for good.
Season Finale Rating: 5/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Had some low points, but still a great season.
Hopes for next season: Part of me hopes Christina sticks to her guns –I don’t see her with a baby at all. I also don’t really care about her and Owen either. I hope Meredith and Derek can work things out – but it Patrick Dempsey is leaving after season 8, I hope they handle things well. I’m still torn over whether I can accept Grey’s Anatomy without Ellen Pompeo if she decides to leave too. I don’t like Lexie enough or thing she has enough depth to serve as the title character. But at the same time, I don’t want to say goodbye to Arizona or Mark or others. –Although Mark should totally go to LA :P
I’d also like to see Alex get it together again. I am sick of him going from jerk to good guy and back again. I like him a lot when he’s decent. I also hope he and Meredith can become friends again.
Private Practice – Overall probably one of the better season finales of the group – if only for the cliffhanger ending! Poor Pete! Also they said goodbye to Naomi and created lead ins for next season. I’m looking forward to seeing what changes next season, whether they will change the office/s or just the general organization and name. However, this is the least stressful season finale this show has had (season 1 doesn’t count), the last 2 seasons had majorly sad and stressful finales.
Season Finale Rating: 8/10
Season Rating Overall: 8.5/10 –This has been probably the best season of the PPP so far. They brought out all the stops and had very few filler eps. Let’s hope next season can be just as awesome!

Hopes for next Season: I hope to see Amelia come through her troubles (but I’m assuming not before some serious damage). I also hope Addison takes notice of Amelia’s troubles. I hope to see Amelia get her own life and own place. I hope to see Sheldon get a life too! Charlotte and Cooper will always need some kind of drama – maybe a new place and/or more kid discussion. As for the practice itself, I’m looking forward to seeing where this new regroup takes them all –but I hope not too much changes. I also hope Benjamin Bratt’s character is likeable, and does not take over too much from our other characters, some don’t get enough attention as it is!
Glee –Big New York episode with the gang in town for Nationals....however this show has thrown all rationality out the window, and had the gang still writing their own songs the day before the competition – hard to respect them, or want them to win when they don’t really try. Of course they didn’t win, but they had some good times. Hard to knock the ep, just on the fact that Rachel and Kurt sang ‘For Good’ from Wicked ON the Wicked stage at the Gershwin Theater! Won points for not letting the guest stars take over, but lost points for not letting Mercedes sing EVER, and not making me care if they won or not.
Season Finale Rating: 7/10
Season Rating Overall: 6/10 – Sorry Glee, but you’re quickly starting to lose my respect and adoration. I still will keep watching for a while, but I’m just not feeling the magic that those early season 1 episodes had. Bring back the smart, and use your talent!

Hopes for next season: I hope they figure out the balance of actors better. I hope that Mercedes and Puck get far better treatment, and that attempt to bring back the smart and dark quality it had in season 1. But I fear it has gone too far into teenland to be what I want it to be.
Modern Family – Kinda boring in my opinion. Jay had a birthday, everyone was organizing their presents...blah blah blah. It wasn’t even that funny for a regular ep –let alone a finale, very disappointing!
Season Finale Rating: 3/10
Season Rating Overall: 7/10 –Good season, nothing huge stood out for me this season though.

Hopes for Next Season: I hope they can keep this show fresh, and keep up the comedy. They’ve done well so far. I’m hoping for great comedy from Luke, Gloria, and Phil!
The Good Wife –Probably one of the better finales this year. Alicia and Peter are split – loving it! Alicia and Will are finally trying things out – LOVING it! The case was semi interesting, and we’re leading into next season with Peter back as States Attorney - so its going to be really interesting to see how that works with him against Alicia in court!
Season Finale Rating: 8.5/10
Season Rating Overall: 8/10 –I think I actually enjoyed this season better than last! I liked having less Peter, and the stuff with the firm was awesome!
Hopes for Next Season: I hope that they make me like Kalinda again...she was getting annoying by the end of the season. I liked her better before all her past came out. But I loved the stuff with Bond and the others at Lockhart Gardner. That takeover was pretty cool! I hope they keep that stuff interesting next season...and as usual I hope that Diane gets a few more comedic moments, because Christine Baranski is SO funny! As for Alicia and Will...well time will tell how that’s gonna work out next season!

Brothers and Sisters – Well it’s a little unfair to rate this one against the others, as it turned out this was the last episode of Brothers & Sisters we will ever get. But it served its purpose. Sarah’s wedding was fun. Tommy showed up, as did Paige and Cooper. Sarah made peace with Brody, and Nora closed the episode talking about family. While there were many loose ends left behind, it still left me feeling satisfied with its ending – as one can when the writers didn’t know it was ending. While this was one show I was okay with letting go, I imagine come September, I’ll still be expecting it to start up again. I hope the cast can find good projects to move on with in the not too far off future.
Season Finale Rating: 8.5/10
Series Finale Rating: Hard to rate, not one of the best finales ever, but a lot better than some of my other shows that have gone off the air! But I’d give it a 6.5-7/10.
Season Rating Overall: 5/10 Sadly, I did not really enjoy this season. I didn’t love last season either. One reason I’m glad that this series came to a close – it was turning way too much into a soap opera...and it was walking at thin line from the beginning. –I miss Tom Skerritt! I will miss Sally Field on my tv each week though!
So that was last season, can’t wait to see what the new season will bring. New cast members, new sets, and who knows what people will do to their hair over the summer – long, short, different colored, who got a good tan –its always fun to see how relaxed and rested everybody looks those first few eps back!
More importantly, hopefully I won’t have to say goodbye to any more shows for a while. It was a good year, not a great year of TV, and hopefully next year will be just as good, if not better!
Till then, I’ve got my summer shows to tie me over, and then there are my many dvds. I might have to pull out one of the classics for a re-watch – especially if I don’t get a job anytime soon!

More Finales, and a Little Fun
So I spent the start of the week catching up with last week's shows. And then there we said goodbye to Glee and Modern Family for this season.
Just when you think you know what is going on with United States of Tara...a whole new twist comes along! Geez! Looking forward to seeing where they take this brother other...is mighty disturbing. –Poor Chicken!
I'm sad that it has been cancelled and won't get a 4th season, I hope they ended it without cliffhangers and such.

Now onto In Plain Sight:
LOVE this show. Last week’s ep (ep 3) was awesome! I loved all the references to The Princess Bride. I LOVE that movie to death! Haven’t watched it in a while, I’ll try to find time this week to do so. The refs to Casablanca were funny too. I have never seen Broadcast News so I didn’t get those refs.
Great ep, very funny –especially Marshall eating candy while watching the ‘movie’ at the end was adorably hilarious! But my god could this storyline have paralleled Mary and Marshall anymore?! I wonder if they are ever gonna hook up Mary and Marshall?
-Rachel Boston’s character isn’t annoying me anymore. I don’t hate her, I just got sick of her being everywhere at once back in the day.

So since most other things I watch have finished up for the season, I thought I’d use this opportunity to get up to date with In Plain Sight and get this week's ep. Its my fave early week show.
But OMG, Weddingpalooza just never ends! But yay for more Josh Malina!...did he even speak though?!
But OMG, Weddingpalooza just never ends! But yay for more Josh Malina!...did he even speak though?!
-The stuff about 24 was hilarious! As was Stan’s working people throughout Albuquerque in order to kept that women from being discovered.
-I want to hate Marshall and Abigail as a couple....but I kinda can’t.

Now onto the big Glee Finale: New York Style.
So overall I was kind of sucked into the glory that is New York City and what wonderful moments this episode had. But while I haven’t enjoyed Glee as much in a long time, I acknowledge that there were many flaws with this finale.
-Firstly, I LOVED that Kurt and Rachel snuck into the Gershwin Theater and sang ‘For Good’ on the Wicked stage. I could not have squealed or giggled more...I may have even gotten a little teary. But then again, ‘For Good’ always makes me cry! I loved the love letter Glee has going with Wicked. I loved that Kurt was Glinda, and Rachel was Elphie –naturally. That was just simple, beautiful, and also a big moment for Glee.
-I like that Rachel and Kurt realized their futures are in NY. I like that Rachel admits she’d have to choose NY/career over love/Finn if it came to it. –As it should be, but I like that she realized that.
-I loved the little Patti Lupone cameo.
-Liked Quinn’s haircut.
-Liked Quinn’s haircut.
-I liked that the guest stars didn’t take over, they did their little cameos and were done. Even Jesse was not annoying me and taking the spotlight.
-Fave songs were For Good, My Cup, and Light Up The World. The others were nothing special.
Now...What I didn’t like:
-I hated that they went to NY without anything prepared. They hadn’t even written their songs with mere days to go –they didn’t deserve to win! And I didn’t like the Finn/Rachel duet –which I thought they weren’t doing solos only group numbers...I guess duets don’t count. I did like the group number – however, I can’t believe Mercedes didn’t get a part! What does that girl have to do to get to participate?! Maybe if they let her sing lead they might win. I can’t believe Brittany got to sing way more than Mercedes. Also is Puck ever gonna get his edge back?

-New York looked kinda empty...there were obvious scenes were there was nobody around –like at the TKTS booth in Times Square –that was always packed with people when I was there. -They needed extras! And also if you were looking for it, you could see dozens of people standing behind barriers in the background of some scenes.
-I hated the Belle Notre thing...it was stupid.
-I hated the Belle Notre thing...it was stupid.
-I hated that Emma showed up but didn’t say anything... at least Sue didn’t even show up!
-I hated that Will decided not to go on Broadway...the kids were going on summer break, he was out of a job till next year anyways! That part was just super dooper lame!
I guess I disliked a lot more than I liked, but I still enjoyed this ep. But they have to do something with Mercedes already, and not just make her and Sam a couple - although I don't hate that.
Lastly, Modern Family had their finale tonight, and overall it was really boring. They were all mixed up with other family members, doing things for Jay’s birthday. But I just found that the ep fell flat. I’m a little disappointed, I’ve come to expect far better from this show!
So that's it, all my regular season shows have wrapped up. I haven't caught up on Cougar Town yet, but I'll get there. The Good Wife had a pretty good ending too in my book! Looking forward to where the take that next season.

New Stuff - YAY!!!!
Finally caught up with all of last week's stuff, I was able to enjoy some new episodes of my shows this week!
I actually enjoyed this week’s episode of GLEE, despite hardly any Emma...they have really ruined her character/storyline. She used to be funnier too! I also liked it in spite of Jesse St. James. I did like the silly like about Jesse St. Jerk though. And he’s not annoying in a terrible way either I guess. I did find him entertaining – the judging stuff was silly, but kind of funny.

I loved the songs they did, well maybe not LOVE, but I really really liked them. I loved that they did ‘Pure Imagination’ from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love that song. The whole Sue’s sister storyline was okay, not great, but okay. Sue has really been destroyed as a character too.
I also found myself liking Terri...so maybe I’m just really off this week!
The auditions thing was kinda great and stupid at the same time! Firstly, it seems wrong that they are so unprepared one...count it people, one week away from Nationals. Seems like they should have been set and practicing by now! I did like the auditions though. I liked that the real competition fought it out. It was great to get to hear Mercedes sing – she never gets much of a shot on this show. Didn’t like Santana’s song – but that’s cause Amy Winehouse isn’t really my style. But I loved the other three. I love all the songs from Gypsy, but I didn’t remember that song from Funny Girl...but I liked it –Rachel does know how to really do a Barbara number!
Raising Hope ended their first season this week too. They did a cool little flashback that showed what Jimmy was like 5 years earlier. It was hilarious to see him in that weird-ass makeup and outfit! Little Sabrina was adorable with her braces, and Shelly and Mike made appearances too.
I’m so glad that they got picked up for season 2. I love this show.

Modern Family was good this week too. It was nice to have some quality Alex time. She never gets much to do. Jay having botox was kinda funny, but not as funny as Cam falling into the pool and running into the door!!!!! –But does that little girl(s) that play Lily ever smile?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them make an expression!
I’ve finally got around to catching up on The Good Wife this week. I watched 3 episodes tonight, and will watch this week’s season finale on the weekend. It was weird having Martha Plimpton’s character pop up again, but I do love her character. She’s a lot of fun. Then in the next ep I watched – Mamie Gummer (of Off The Map) made her 3rd appearance on The Good Wife. I adore her character. She’s so funny and really plays with the other characters. I hope they bring her back next season...seeing as she’s not busy anymore. –Still a little sore that Off The Map is not coming back next season, but I’m sure I’ll get over it. There’s a lot of new stuff to get into next season by the looks of things!!!
The finales of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Parks and Recreation are on tomorrow. Its gonna be sad to see them go, but hopefully not as traumatic as last year!

Penultimate Eps, Finales, and Randoms
Here is my thoughts on my tv viewing since Saturday. I’ve still got a few things left from last week to catch up on, but I wanted to share my thoughts so far.
Grey’s Anatomy - There was a lot of backstabbing and making tough choices in this ep. - April telling on Christina, Lucy taking Alex’s job in Africa, and Alex revealing what Meredith did.
Christina really is a problem...I want to like her, I want her to be doing the awesome heart surgery that she can do, but she keeps pushing away all her teachers and getting banned from surgeries. I’m getting sick of that. But I guess at least she won’t be Chief Resident! I’m guessing now that either April or Alex will be the choice.

Lucy HAD to go! So glad that Alex is not going to Africa, but it did suck that Lucy stole the job out from under him, especially when he was willing to turn it down cause he was interested in being with her. Poor Alex –no luck when it comes to relationships. But the way he just blurted out Meredith’s secret to was mean. Alex and Meredith always sort of had each other’s backs –both being messed up people, and pretty much brother and sister; but now he’s gone too far –he was drunk and hurting and told Hunt that Meredith switched the trial packets.
Meredith and Derek with the baby are so cute. I liked that even though it was all about the medicine, what she said to the social worker still proved that she was invested in Zola.
Sloan carrying around the baby all ep was both adorable and annoying...don’t these people do any doctoring anymore?! But Callie was back in the zone...till Sofia showed up. –But very cute baby, I’m just going to keep saying it!
It was so funny having that patient and his family mad at April. –April is so annoying - but not in a terrible way anymore. And sorry, SO not caring about Teddy’s storyline. I don’t love that she spends more of the time outside the hospital these days, and I don’t love Scott Foley’s character. I don’t love the other guy either. I just really don’t care about Teddy’s love life. –But she can’t move to Germany...but then again, would I really notice if she was gone?!

Big finale week next week...no idea about what is happening, but after all the death and carnage (in both shows) last year, I’m hoping for no big deaths, and anticipating lots of professional carnage.
Private Practice - Poor Betsey. Shonda has really put that little girl through the works. But gotta give props to Hailey Sole for her acting chops, it can’t be easy to play Betsey’s storyline. Her saying that people die in that hospital was heartbreaking, and brought back all the stress from losing Dell last season. So cute when Cooper and Naomi walked in, but so sad when she was mad at Violet for not visiting. –Which is totally fair though. Poor Violet is mad that they all abandoned her, and that she couldn’t keep Betsey…but Naomi getting mad at them is just wrong! She wasn’t there!
That kid was scary…poor Betsey, and then to have the foster parents just abandon her…she can’t catch a break! While I didn’t really want any of them to take Betsey, I was glad that Naomi did- that part was really sweet, and the best option. I don’t think Violet and Pete are ready, and Charlotte and Cooper are not right for Betsey either…although I think there might be a kid in their not too far off future – maybe more kid talk next season.

The whole abortion storyline was pretty heavy too. It was rather graphic, in an educational way. I accept that Naomi has to represent her opinion but her talking to that girl was wrong – not to mention holding Olivia the whole time, I mean that’s just MEAN! Addison had her own issues, but put the patient and medicine first- power to her. It was kinda sad her talking about her baby with Sloan back in the day…and how ‘she’ would have been in school now. –BTW Addison has bad math…her kid would only be turning 5…not 6.
Sheldon playing with Olivia was too cute. But give him his own storyline already!!! –Also liked the line about if people get married, and no one witnesses it, did it actually happen. – a funny little dig.

Amelia is falling off the wagon…not sure about all that, Amelia’s drug problem seems to have become a big alcohol problem…I understand that it’s a gateway, but Amelia’s been drinking plenty in the earlier half of the season with no real issue. –Charlotte hugging her was just WEIRD…Charlotte not being at all a ‘huggy’ person, but I guess it’s a sign of how much Charlotte has softened and how close the two have become this season. But I didn’t like Amelia doubting herself and all shaky after Betsey’s surgery. And Speaking of drinking, has Little Miss Martini given up drinking now? I know she’s been going to meetings with Amelia after her ordeal, where she was at risk of relapsing...but its hard to imagine Charlotte never drinking her martinis ever again.
Not sure how they’re going to end the season…I have no idea where Naomi is going to go if she’s got Betsey, and isn’t going to DC with Fife. It can’t be as sad as last year, but knowing Shonda, its probably not going to be a happy hour of tv.
Glee - So I had to wait till I saw Ness to watch Glee (and everything else) this week. It sucked, I’ve never had to wait this long before! But it wasn’t too bad. It doesn’t have that ‘dying to watch it’ quality it used to. Because it is no longer awesome. But I did love the ep this week. I was a bit iffy about Prom, but I enjoyed the ep on a whole. I didn’t really love any of the songs though. – I did kinda like Dancing Queen; it’s about time they did some ABBA. –Brittany and Tina seem to have been reduced to back-up singers. I miss the days of less solos and duets, with more group songs with lines here and there. –When the wealth was shared around more.
Making Kurt Prom Queen was very interesting, and it worked. I really love having Kurt back where he belongs. Quinn’s dress was easily my fave – SO pretty! Rachel looked nice too. I loved Brittany’s tiny hat – see she’s ‘the hat girl’.
I didn’t love Jonathon Groff’s reappearance, I just don’t love him. But he didn’t take over so that was okay I suppose.

Raising Hope - Ness was nice enough to let me download it while I was at her place, so I didn’t have to wait till Tuesday to watch it. I enjoyed Jaime Pressly being in the ep. She and the husband were both in My Name is Earl which is by the same guy that does Raising Hope.
I LOVED Sabrina’s ad for the store…but the singing with baby Hope was weird. Shannon Woodward has a nice voice!
SNL - Tina Fey was awesome as usual! I also loved that Maya Rudolph and Darrell Hammond made an appearance, in fact Maya turned up in a few sketches!
I was a little disappointed that Tina didn’t make an appearance in Weekend Update, but that’s okay. –Gotta say this ep was very Vanessa Bayer heavy, which is a good thing.
Community - I think I liked last week’s half better with awesome Annie and the western/Tarantino motif (plus it had Josh Holloway of LOST), but the Star Wars theme was fun. The Annie/Abed thing weirded me out, she’s such a Greendale whore :P Best part – barely any CHANG! He didn’t say a word! Pierce saving the day was kinda awesome too!
Hilarious having Busy Philips and Dan Byrd from Cougar Town (on ABC) pop up. –Never thought I’d see a crossover with them on an NBC show!

In Plain Sight - BRADLEY!!!! (Whitford) I love that IPS is collecting West Wing people. Also I’m SO glad that he shaved the moustache he had in The Good Guys. He looked young again! But in his suits he really looked like Joshua Lyman :( It was a pity that Joshua Malina was not in this ep either, would have been an extra special WW reunion.
Well that's all I've watched this week, Nurse Jackie and Parks and Recreation were good too, but didn't really need much discussion - Although them all getting wasted on Snake Juice was pretty funny! -As was Chris reading out the signs about that woman!
